Customer service was nice, however, the food was a bit gummy from the traditional menu. The meats were heavily seasoned with salt and lacked spices unfortunately.
Your cuts should always be seasoned to your satisfaction, and it concerns us to read we fell short. We know we can make this up to you, so please consider returning in the near future. Best.
The reservations were for 6:45 but we had to wait 20 minutes to get seated. The waiter was attentive at first but seemed to for get we were there as he stopped by the other tables around us and only at the end of the meal asked how we were doing. I had to ask someone else for a glass of water.
The restaurant advertises a fine dining experience with a business casual dress code. I went on a Saturday evening and people were wearing torn T-shirt, clothes that looked dirty and flip flops. Complete turn-off of the experience. Everything else was great.
So many people trying to serve that no one knew what was happening. Many times our table was just skipped. Very very loud and could not hear yourself think.

My family was dining to celebrate a Friday birthday at a table for 3 in the middle of the restaurant. We all opted for the Churrasco Experience, which was a nonstop barrage of animal protein in the form of mouth-watering beef, chicken, lamb, and sausage. All washed down with caipirinhas and Heinekens. My take is Fogo de Chao is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you to Eric, Elsa, and the army of servers who kept our table and plates full of delicious meats and side dishes.

Food was good , I will say I was super annoyed . I requested a coaster (red/green) when we first arrived . 20 min later still no coaster and I had over 5 meat guys come over to me while I was trying to eat my food. I requested the coaster again to the waitress and she said “oh it doesn’t matter” , that’s when I got even more angry/annoyed , I told her yes it does matter I don’t want people coming up to me every min while I’m trying to enjoy my food . The waitress got busy cleaning up her big parties table that she didn’t even come check up on us . We had another waitress come up and ask if everything was ok and she was able to help with the things we needed but our waitress disappeared for a while . I didn’t feel as though the service was good at all. One thing about us is we are good tippers . We are food connoisseurs , we eat out a lot and love new places . This wasn’t our first time here , we felt as though we will try a different Brazilian Churrascaria next time . Only good thing about this restaurant is they hold reservation for 30 min . We literally drove around over an hour trying to find parking . Bad on our part with planning as we knew we wanted steak, we made a reservation on the night of a Padres baseball game . Bad on us ! We will never be dining in downtown on a weekend .
The food was great, the service wonderful, but we were sandwiches between two very loud tables whose conversations were so deafening that we couldn’t hear each other…it made our experience less than enjoyable.

Have been to almost every FOGO across the country and this one by far was the slowest service. Had to ask multiple times for things that were never delivered to table. Our server had too many tables and some varieties of the meat did not even make it to our table once during an almost two hour service. Hopefully it was just an off night.

Fogo de Chao is a great place for groups and family dining! The market bar is stocked with so many salad items and if you need more filling food, the rice, beans and soup are there as well.
Its my go to place for red meat, as you can control your portions well with the service type and the quality is always excellent.

My husband and I live in Southern OC and come to SD a few times a year. We have been to this location multiple times and will continue to come back. The food is out of this world and the service is exceptional. We celebrated our anniversary on the 4th of July and our server, Ashley, was incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant!

If I could give this zero stars I would! I thought it was just a fluke that Fogo de Chão the first one I went to was bad but then we decided to try it again down in San Diego… Well needless to say it was disgusting. We paid 300+ dollars for three of us which would be fine if the food was good but the food was disgusting I could’ve had my six-year-old daughter cook me better meal this! The service was horrible she stopped by the table twice and then didn’t give us our sides until almost when we are done. I would never ever recommend going here… Not worth it

Elsa, our waitress and the entire serving staff were excellent! Above and beyond! Meats came around constantly! Salad bar was fresh and attended to consistently!
Went here for our anniversary. Food is ok but service of gauchos is poor, it took so long for them to serve the meats. There was an instance we have to wait for our gauchos around 20-25mins before they can serve our table the next cut of meat. I had to remind our server 3x that we are still waiting for the next serving of meats. Their website says “Continuous tableside service of signature cuts of fire-roasted meat” bit it’s not as continuous as I expected. We also had to request for them to serve us the filet mignon, ribeye & picanha.

We are regulars and even supported during the pandemic and everyone’s always been very attentive and the flow of food has always been good. This time though it took too long for the meats to come to our table after flipping our cards to green. I saw 2 waiters with meat look at the table and walk right pass. Then a waitress asked if we had special requests. Requested filet mignon and bottom sirloin. We had to ask about it 3 times before it came to the table about 30-40m later which never happened before even pre-pandemic when it was even busier. Then I asked the waiter for the check because I had somewhere else to be. He said “wait and think about dessert.” If I wanted dessert I would ask for it and if I ask for the check don’t tell me to wait. We sat there for another 10min and I flagged down the same guy and asked for the check. We sat for another 10m as I watched that waiter go pass our table several times with no check. Finally we had to flag down a different person and say that we’ve asked for the check 2 times and we have to go. She then brought us the check right away and we were able to take care of the bill. I was really frustrated by the end because I was late to where I was going because it took more than 20m to get the check after asking for it because someone decided I should wait to get dessert. The overall experience was subpar and disappointing. Fogo de Chao has a certain reputation for excellent service and that reputation was not lived up to.

The food was ok. The experience was amazing the service was slow. Idk if the waitress was just training but it took them forever to get what we asked for. The actual meat server were amazing, but not pleased with the waitress service.

Loved the experience went with my girlfriend for our anniversary the whole time was spent in a very nice environment with very helpful staff. Food was amazing and the wait time wasn't to bad even during a busy dinner service

After a fabulous experience at the Fogo in New Orleans a couple years ago, was expecting a great night. We were seated promptly (reservation) and were attended to right away. Wife only got the 'salad bar' ($32.95) and 20-year-old daughter and I got the Fogo Experience ($61.00). Bottles of wine were half price, which helped. Food was very OK. They kept coming around with top sirloin, chicken, and sausage. Manager came by asking if everything was alright. Said we were hoping for some ribs and filet. A few minutes later the ribs and filet showed up, but never saw them again. Overall was just very average. Value questionable, return visit questionable.

Good and service was great. Only issue was getting our table in a timely manner. Our reservations were given to another party & we had to wait for another table. Fortunately we were not in a rush.
Didn't know what to expect after COVID. Everything seemed to be back to normal. Food as always we excellent! We did have to ask for some of the sides as they didn't bring them out, and we also had to ask for the better meats. We kept getting the lower end cuts. But once was asked, we had no problem getting anything.
We had a table of 10, 1/2 ordered entrees and the other half ordered the meat experience. We were billed for 6 x meat experience, called as soon as I got home and was told that they would fix bill. I trust they will.
Overall, party enjoyed food, ambiance, and service.

It was a Good experience as far as the service. The service was great and servers and manager were very attentive to our needs! Food was also good but it was extremely hot in the building! I was literally sweating and so were the people next to me. The heat made it so uncomfortable to eat and enjoy the food so we ended up leaving super early because of it. Kind of a waste of money to be honest If I would’ve known it was going to be that hot I would’ve chosen to be seated outside…
