I've never really had that bad of an experience everytime I've come here to eat (at least once a year). The staff has always been attentative with their customers and explain the process for new patrons or new on the menu. I was very appreciative when they ask if it was a special occasion. In this case it was and they were going to accommodate a dessert on the house for the occasion (even if it was for to-go). They always put out great service as well as food. It's a great splurge for eats.
Device was not what it was in the past! I had to ask for seven thing several different times before they came. Example: the bread I ask the waiter’s multiple time if we could get more bread. The table around use got bread but we did not. Only had one bear and was never ask if I wanted another. Asked multiple times for ribeye and I finally came at the end when we where already full, that was disappointing. But I still love this place and will be back!
We we're seated 30 minafter Our our reservation and only after I asked if we could be seated outside. We took a soundside to a table that was at a 45ﾟ angle and could not support glassware or any other food types. Then we found out that the only way you could order was through a Box as opposed to a printed menu which they no longer have. Then we discovered that they had a salad bar and we had to go through the throng of people to get to the salad bar that everybody else was working from . Then by our waiter we discovered that there were only 2 things that we could order but he wasn't clear on what the 2 were. We had a drink paid for the drink and left. I would not

Most of the staff except for our initial server (she was very nice) were very rude. We were sat in the very back and everyone was SWEATING, so disgustingly hot.. but the thing that took us back the most was when there was a discrepancy in our check, my friend ordered an appetizer as well (shrimp cocktail) that cost $15 on the menu and was charged $22. We politely brought this up to a secondary server who we didn’t even know who he was and immediately got defensive and verbatim said “what do you want me to do about it?” We responded by saying “fix it..?” Then he responded “I can’t take that off!” We told him we didn’t want it taken off or anything we ordered for free… we simply want to be charged what the menu stated. He asked us “do you want me to get the manager?!” My friend responded, “yes if you have to?” Him: “oh really?? You want me to get the manager?!” And i managed to jump in and calm everyone down, i asked him “I’m sorry, i think you’re misunderstanding still… we don’t want it taken off please correct the cost to what’s on the menu we scanned.” Then he realized his mistake and said “oh the system didn’t update the menu prices?” And then returned, didn’t say “sorry”, said he fixed it and when we thanked him for correcting it, he said “it’s okay, don’t worry about it.” I quickly snapped back and stated firmly “I’m NOT apologizing…that was your mistake.” weirdest experience ever. Hostess was rude, rolling her eyes, told us to wait outside. I’ve never wrote a negative review in my life but i don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. I’ve enjoyed my experience before here but this tarnished my perception of the culture here. I felt very judged and like i was an annoyance.. i still tipped over 20% which i regret now, we as a group of 4 spent almost 300$ For 30 mins of time we were there because we couldn’t wait to leave.

This place is for parties and celebrations. It is not for a private date or something romantic. It's just too loud. Tables are pretty close and they try to sell you many things when you first get there. That can be a bit annoying. READ THE MENU BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE. If you don't read the menu then the waiters and waitresses will be able to manipulate you into adding things to your order that will sound like are part of the regular service but actually they are extra.
Overall a good experience. I will go back and if recommend it as long as your not looking for privacy or romance.
Too much meat for me - but EVERYONE in our party loved this meal. Delicious perfectly cooked and lots of variety. Come hungry
We were placed in a hot, humid, non aerated section.
Bar tender doesn't know how to make martini.

We had an 8:15 reservation for 9. We waited an hour to be seated, even with this reservation. The front receptionist was completely overwhelmed. There were atleast 50 people gathered outside waiting to be seated. They kept saying it would be “ 10 more minutes”. We were crammed elbow to elbow in a crowded back room. We opted for their “meat” experience. At first the meats were coming out in a timely manner. But, then it was approaching 10:00pm and it was one after the other. They provided no awareness of our notes on your site indicating an engagement proposal. It was completely discombobulated!

Came to Fogo for my birthday, my husband mentioned it to the waiter twice and we even wrote it on our Open Table reservation however our waiter disregarded all of it. Yet the table behind us was brought a dessert with a candle and I received nothing. Extremely disappointed.

Have always loved going to Fogo de Chao for celebrations. Was here for my sis bday and somehow the overall experience was just not as good as my previous experience. The meats were not as good, they changed the grilled cheese, and it was so busy, service was not as good.
Quick greeting. Very popular but the service still gets around to all the tables. Great tasting food, nothing was bad.
Waited 30 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. Food was sub-par, restaurant too crowded.

Far cry from what I usually expect from Fogo de Chao when it came to service. Once we had our plates at our table (and the cards showing green) it was around 15 minutes before we saw any servers offering meat. Sometimes servers would ask which meats we would like. After we told them, it was typically 10-15 minutes before they came back with what we requested. No pão was offered at any point - eventually I had to ask for it late into our dining experience. When we were finished with dinner and ready for dessert, it was a very long time before any server was nearby to help place an order. Only when we ordered dessert was any pre-bussing offered (empty soup bowls and plates took up room on the table for over an hour).
The food was delicious as usual. The only exception was that the lamb was too salty. I will definitely continue to dine in other locations, but not this one.

Most of the meat was extremely salty, but other than that we all had a fun time. They charge $25 for a corkage fee per bottle. I have never been there but a couple in our party had. I was under the impression that the meat was going to be on the table and you helped yourself, sort of like a fondue place. However, they slice it at the table in between people and you have some personal tongs to grab the meat as their slicing it. It was interesting. It was my husband’s 65th birthday and we all had fun.
Didn’t matter if you had a reservation they were not prepared for the holiday rush

The restaurant was so busy… that we didn’t even get meat to our table. Everything got cold and we couldn’t eat because all we did was wait. We were a party of 12 and if someone did come with meat it would finish by the 4th person. Some of us just ate bread.

The meats and salad bar were very mediocre. Service was not great. Did not have my water refilled once, asked for the check 3 times. Overall, I believe Covid has the place understaffed and it shows heavily. Waited very long in between meats and I believe I only had one meat that wasn't the last slice (not fresh). Given the prices/reputation I was expecting a much better experience. I would not recommend Fogo de Chao right now. Give them a chance to rebuild from covid.

The concept is great but quality is average. We enjoyed the buffet - definitely great service and readiness for Covid. Inside room has great ambiance but too crowded. I felt a bit uncomfortable.
We had to ask too many times for the cuts we preferred. Eventually they all showed up - but by the time we were done. Too full.
The meat quality is average - I tried the Brazilian bbq at many locations.. this location was lacking flavors for ribeye, sirloin and filet.
Service was accommodating and kind.

This is for Oscar at the San Diego Fogo de Chão. I would’ve looked to say goodbye to you, but I waited for so long for my meat to be brought to me, that my cab was waiting for me outside the restaurant. It was absolutely wonderful seeing you again and I thought this was gonna be the start of a wonderful evening knowing that you were back. However, when I asked at least three people to bring out the tomahawk steak, everyone said they would see to it. At the last minute, a man came to me and tried. to explain(I do not know what because of the mask) but he told me that there was no tomahawk and that I Wanted the ribeye.This was after waiting 35 minutes for it. As I was paying the bill, the ribeye came out. I had to leave. The server was extremely upset about the mixup and wanted me to speak to the manager. I didn’t wanna ruin our “reunion“ by complaining. The food could not have been better, The personnel kept coming over to me asking what I wanted and I told them the Tomahawk and no one corrected it. I loved my meal and I loved seeing you, but I was disappointed. I am not asking for anything, I just want you to know what happened

After being there for about 30 minutes the waiters did not pay attention to our table as much as when we first got there and we had to ask for them to bring food to the table several times, overall food was very good.
Server was excellent. Enjoyed trying a wide variety of meats and sides. Was not blown away by the quality of the foods and being charged $7 for “still” water seemed a bit excessive.

It had been a while since the last time we went to Fogo de Chao. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We celebrated two birthdays and the staff was super nice and and friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

Had better experiences before, wasn’t told we where going to get charged for the shrimp appetizer would have rather put that towards the dessert and found ourselves waiting too long to be served the meats and 2/3 times the chicken was dry but the red meats where on point as well as our server he probably check in on us more than we where being served that day.

Met up with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. He’s a big fan of Brazilian steakhouses and I hadn’t been to one in a while. I forgot how good they were. I’ll DEFINITELY be back.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his birthday, and he loved it! There were some cuts of meat that he never got, which he was disappointed about. I’m a vegetarian so I didn’t want the full meat experience, but the market table was great, so vegetarians: don’t shy away! My cauliflower steak was taking longer than usual, which was fine, but the server gave us two free desserts to make up for it which was unexpected but appreciated! The whole experience was overall great besides not getting all the meats, I would recommend to anyone thinking about trying!
