Join us at Fogo de Chão® San Antonio just steps above the famed Riverwalk and adjacent to the Rivercenter Marriott on Commerce Street. We bring our rich Southern Brazilian tradition of churrasco to the Alamo City.
Fogo de Chão is an authentic Brazilian Steakhouse (Churrascaria) that has been setting the standard in Brazil for the past 36 years. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill and carve tableside each of our cuts of meat like Picanha (signature sirloin), Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Fraldinha (Brazilian sirloin) Cordeiro (lamb) and more. In addition to the main dishes, enjoy our gourmet Market Table, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list. Guests can also choose to enjoy lighter seafood selections or enjoy the gourmet Market Table only option.

Service was great, salad bar was delicious.... however, we sat for 30 minutes and only two guys came by the table with meat. They need more servers, it was so busy and we just could not enjoy the experience. Texas de Brazil and Cana Gaucha are worth the price. Once meat did start coming to table it was chicken legs and sausage. We had to ask for steak. Finally I asked a manager for my bill and to my amazement, steak was flooding to our table. By this time it was 45 minutes in to the meal. I lost my appetite because of frustration. Can’t beleive I wasted my Open Table rewards on that meal. They charged us for salad bar which was still $65ish for two people. Waste of a perfectly good gift card. Had the steak been amazing, I wouldn’t have posted this review but it was low grade meat for a dining experience that costs $45 plus per person!

This was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had. It was Valentine's Day so I understand it being busy, however our request took about 30 mins for anything we wanted. We asked for well steak and every single time we got rare. I'm pregnant so it was very critical that I get well done steak. Every time they said we have med well is that okay? Then it was still rare. I seen the blood coming from the meats. We asked for lemon when we first sat down which took about 20 minutes. We looked around and people that sat after us were given their sides before us. We didn't get our sides until after we ate dinner. Very disappointed that we even spent about $130 for a meal for two and a tip. They were given a tip because it is common courtesy but the servers should have been given section because they could not handle working all the tables they were. We waited for the bill 30 minutes and then took another 30 minutes to get the card back. It was very frustrating. Honestly, this restaurant can do much better. Anyone could have walked out and not paid for the meals because of the long wait for checks. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will actually blog about this horrible experience and tell everyone I know not to go here. Honestly, we should be given our money back.

Big difference from when I was there in September and I’m not just talking about the new salad bar. Brought my girlfriend here for dinner when we arrived in San Antonio. There was a big spurs game that just started so I already had lowered my expectations assuming the rush may have been busy and the staff might be exhausted. It also helped me understand why they didn’t have the bottle of wine we chose when they came back 20 minutes later to inform us. But it’s what came after that made me question why on earth I would spend 200$ here again. Let’s start with once we finished our salads. They table staff promptly picked up our plates once we were finished. Still no wine yet from the other bottle we chose. Left a few awkward minutes of silence and small talk. Then alas our wine showed up. At this point we had already been there nearly an hour. You actually would have thought the place was busy but it was half empty. Now as we enjoy our first glass we’re ready to eat. But we don’t have any plates and our silverware was picked up with the salads. I looked for our nearest server and no one was around. I then proceeded to get up and walk all the way to the other side of the restaurant to ask the hostesss if she could get us plates and more silver ware. We still have not seen our waitore. Now as we start getting guys stopping by with me we notice our silverware did not have any forks with it. Add another 5 minutes looking for staff. Once again the hostess after getting up bailed us out again. As we are eating our meat and only our meat because no one has even brought us the sides that are included with the meal. Add two different meats before we got to it. Let’s just say our waiter never returned the rest of the evening. We got help from a waitress that has only been there a week and she was helpful to the best of her abilities and did what she could. In short waited another 15 min. For our ticket. Had to get up ask hostess again. Tipped hostess for it. Wasted 200 dollars.

The waiter was too busy to help us and we had to ask for everything, but the table next to us had constant service by him. We were a large party of nine. The meat servers were also very sparse and we had to ask for them constantly. Great food but service this time was not good.

VERY NICE...BUT YOU NEED TO WATCH YOUR BILL.....WE HAD 7 IN OUR PARTY,
3 PEOPLE EATING SALADS.. 4 HAVING THE fOGO EXPERIENCE... THEY CHARGED US FOR 5 EXPERIENCE AND 2 SALADS. SO WE WERE OVER CHARGED...

I’ve been to Fogo 25+ times in my life and this was the worst experience I’ve had. The food was average, the service staff seems scattered and disorganized...I can’t tell you how disappointed I was.

It’s starting to look dirty and they wouldn’t offer filet mignon until you ask for it! Definitely Gama Gaucha is by far now better.
We used to love Fogo but we have changed our mind now.
It needs to be remodeled.
