Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
It was noise but didn't bother me really. We were sat right behind the fire display which was nice. Waitstafff was rude by rushing through her introduction of herself, kept interrupting our conversation and then it started to bother me because I was on a 1st date in over 5 years. The knives were so dull I had EXTREMEMLY hard time cutting food so I left hungry, went home and cooked. My 1st time there and don't really wanna return and waste money again. We stilled tipped her well though.
Compared to similar Brazilian steakhouses in town, the food here was not impressive. The customer service was not great either. We already had food coming to our table before our drinks or side items arrived. Even trying to pay was a lengthy process because we couldn't get anyone's attention. I will most likely stick with the competition.
We took our daughter for her first time and was sadly disappointed! We had to wait a very long time to get any of the meats, we never got the potatoes or bananas even though I requested them a couple times until we were done eating our meal. I never received my wine I initially ordered and last we were charged double for a child's meal after being told one price.
I personally would rather recommend the Houston location hands down
First time visiting San Antonio. My husband and I were in the mood for steaks and found this restaurant. From the outside, it looked authentic and inviting. The area where they say us was perfect. We can actually have a conversation without raising our voice. Their meats were freshly cooked, tasty. Their buffet area was very good. Full array of salads and tapas. It is expensive but worth it. For a couple, we paid $190.00 with tip. In summary, yes, I will come back to this restaurant.
My new bride and I chose Fogo De Chao for our first meal as husband and wife. We were very happy we did. The fresh market bar, and cuts of freshly grilled meats were amazing. The side of garlic mashed potatoes were very good as well. As a bonus the staff hearing that it was our wedding day presented us with a delicious strawberry cheesecake. We will definitely be returning.
It still amazes me that for a $50 meal that you never get just one wait staff. They tag team your service and frequently have no clue when you need service. This goes for most fogos. I just don't get the philosophy. Makes sense for a $20 meal but $50? I'm going to a real steakhouse next time.
My experience was very poor. This location no longer has valet parking so you have to park in the malls parking lot and walk down to the restaurant. This is in downtown so its inconvenient to not have valet parking. The restaurant was empty and staff was not friendly. I visited for my Mothers birthday and I did not enjoy it. Some meat cuts were bland as if they didn't use salt. Comparing other similar restaurants like Chama Gaucha they have exceeded my expectations for a churrascaria place. I will definitely not come back to Fogo.
I’ve been to several brazilian steakhouses and this one has been the worst I’ve been to. I expected the cost of the meal and the location of the restaurant to reflect in the experience, but unfortunately it didn’t. We were celebrating our anniversary/birthday (same weekend) and they sat us down in the most non romantic table with the busiest foot traffic area. People, including the staff themselves, bumped into our chairs every couple of minutes. 2 out of the 3 waitresses had terrible customer service. I even heard them bad mouthing a table across the floor. I believe someone realized we weren’t having a good time because the manager came in and asked us if we needed anything and sent her star waitress in to save the night and offered us desert on the house.
My husband really enjoyed the restaurant. I'm on the fence about this entire experience. I indicated that the mashed potatoes were a bit bland and very hard and asked that they bring us a new plate and was told they were all the same. The fried plantains were very mushy. We only really enjoyed 2 of all the meat options they provided. Seasoning was an issue with some of the meats. There were also issues with the temperature, some were more on the medium well instead of medium as we requested. The website indicates there is more than the Full Churrasco Experience dinner option but no other options were given to us. Seems like they really just push for the full experience.
I will not be returning to this restaurant. I think I prefer to go to a nice steak restaurant, order an entrée and enjoy my dinner without having so many different options being rushed to my table.
I must say that the dessert was spot on. I enjoyed that the most.
The service was fast and efficient. The meats were great. The only complaint is that the salad bar didn't have what I wanted, but it did have the best bacon me and my wife ever had! If you go don't eat beforehand because you fill up quickly. I was stuffed about 20 min after we were seated.
Brought my family to San Antonio on a business trip. Decided to do something different for dinner. This was great food with great service. The meats were all tender and flavorful. The wait staff attentive without being annoying. The price is pretty high but for what you get was quite reasonable. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food and something a bit different than your normal fare restaurant.
Every cut of meat was tough and lacked any seasoning. The house special was one of the toughest pieces of beef I have had in some time. If I had to guess I would say they were using select beef and trying to pass it for prime. The chicken was overcooked and dry. Overall the service was good, but the food was lacking. For a Brazilian steakhouse I will stick to Tejas De Brazil.
