Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
The food was good. We had lunch on New Year's Eve. It wasn't crowded, but the service wasn't as good as other Fogo locations we've been to. We had to ask for things more than once (bread, drink refills, fried bananas) when these are usually automatic at other locations. If you haven't been to other, better Fogo de Chao restaurants, I'm sure this one will be fine; if you are a frequent Fogo guest, come with lower expectations for a more enjoyable experience.
I would recommend this restaurant for anything and all things. Fernando the Manager is so good with the customers. He is very polite, he is energetic, he is attentive and his employees especially Isabella are really good with the customers. I love this place. I give the overall 5 stars
My husband and I have been enjoying Fogo de Chao for years but lately they have really dropped the ball. The last 2 times we have been the service has been lacking. First we arrive and told the hostess we had a reservation. More parties arrive after us and everyone was seated before us. When we were the only ones left still standing the hostess left the podium and did not say a word. Fortunately for us a manager walked up and seated us. Thanks for nothing hostess!!! Meats took forever to reach the table so you find yourself practically paying $50 pp to eat at a “fancy” salad bar. We were passed up several times when we had our coaster on green. I had to ask for the table side dishes twice and they still took a long time to arrive. Then, after we ate them, we never got a refil. Our waiter was barely around but I could tell he had more tables that he could handle.
Overall a horrible experience, which is a shame because it was our favorite restaurant for years.
It was the best I have had in a long time, but the only thing was since it was our first time there, we had no idea what other foods were available other than the meats that are cut at the table and the salad bar area. A friend said that there is a rice and other foods but we were not aware of any of that, I think a small menu just listing the various options would help. It was a fantastic experience but our friends were asking if we tried this and that and we said no because we were not aware it was available.
We ordered drinks. I order a red wine and my and date ordered a mixed drink. It took at least half an hour for his drink to arrive. Meal was almost over when the drink arrived. I have been to a few Brazilian steak houses here Vegas. Fogo de Chao for one, hostess doesn’t tell you “your first course will be salad then meat”. Or maybe I just took it the wrong way the she said it. Either way, I found it a little offensive. Normally, they just tell you, if you’re interested some salad in the salad bar or whatever you need. Or you’re ready for your meat just standby or turn your card to green then they come and serve you some meat.
First time in all of trouxe years that there is NO BLACK BEANS (feijoada) !!! and nobody knows why !!! Also, salad bar with less options than usual. No onions.... no vinagrete..... Very disappointed. These use to be one of the best units in US....
why do I have to pay more than lunch to have less ????
I love the food and service at this location. Fernando leads his team providing exceptional service. The food is excellent and I am particularly fond of of the lamb chops, the beef ribs and the market table. The desserts are phenomenal and I really enjoy the flan and tres leches cake. I do wish they had the same paper towels in the restrooms as other locations because I dislike the Dyson air dryers. The restaurant is clean and well kept, the service, impeccable, and the food, delicious! Highly recommend!
As always, this place conitnues to be just like the first time I dined here. This visit was special because it was a first date that left an impression on my date. I want to thank Ms. Abbey in making sure the flowers I ordered for my date were set up at the table I had reserved. Thank you and see you soon!
We had a terrible experience at this location and I would not recommend it to anyone. First, we came in with a reservation and waited about half hour to be seated. I’m not sure what the point of having a reservation system is if you are still going to seat guests with reservations in the same way you seat other guests. Next, The salad bar was gross. I felt like I was eating at Golden Corral. There was food spilled everywhere, the presentation was terrible and the selection was the worst I’ve seen at any of the 8 Fogo locations I’ve been to. We came for my birthday, and in San Antonio, with so many great food options, I fell as though I spent way to much on a less than stellar meal when I could have gotten better food at so may other locations for a fraction of the price. When you pay over $30 for a salad bar, it better be the best salad around. The value isn’t here and I won’t be back. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Do yourself a favor, go to Texas de Brazil or Bohanans if you want a good quality dining experience. This Fogo missed the boat.
