Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
This is our first time in Fago De Chao. Rosemont. We always go to Texas De Brazil in Schaumburg. We were wrong. The service was top notch. Lots of folks came by to ask if we need anything. Very caring staff. The best part is they got us a complimentary piece of cake to celebrate our Anniversary. The meat was better than Texas De Brazil. Lamb chops come very infrequent in Texas De Brazil but Fago De Chao it always circulating along with other mouthwatering meats.
Next time we are going with family! I think we might just go to Fago De Chao when we want Brazilian steakhouse
Had a great time at Fogo Rosemont, went in for a family event and loved every bit of it. The staff at the door were friendly and very nice. I was seated and greeted by a amazing server full of smiles. The food was great and the drinks were fantastic. The best part about the food service was the picana the house special and I love the lemonade. This was my first visit and I will definitely be returning to enjoy the array of meats that the gauchos had to offer. This beautiful hidden gem needs to be discovered and enjoyed thank you for the great food and the wonderful experience. Loved it
I’ve been to other locations and I’ve always enjoyed the food and the service when I go. Unfortunately the Rosemont location really disappointed me. The server honestly did not seem like he wanted to tend to our table . When we arrived it was somewhat busy so it was understandable that our drinks took a while. After it slowed down a bit the gauchos were not going to our table as often as they would go to the rest and the our server didn’t tend to our table like he would other tables. He even had a different server go to us. The only time he was around was when we asked for the check and kept lurking around to see if we left a tip... we had honestly left the other server since she paid more attention to us the he did.
I have been to this place plenty of times. Service is usually top-notch. I brought 10 family members for dinner and the service was awful. First, the waiter forgot to get my kid’s drink. Next, meat hardly came around and it wasn’t until an hour into the meal that someone came over to our table to ask if we wanted to request a particular cut. The potatoes were cold. They were served to us at room temperature. The rolls (usually excellent) were cold. I can honestly say I was just disappointed. Every single meal I have had at this place was excellent. This time, I left upset.
As always Fogo de Chao was outstanding! Mimi the manager was fantastic...always on top of her game! She really makes you feel like you are her only guests at the restaurant and delivers top notch service! Diego, one of the gaucho's really knows his stuff and truly tries to provide you with the best experience!
I've been to the downtown location, which I enjoyed better than Rosemont. First, we were seated relatively close to the revolving doors so some at our table of 5 were cold. Next, the meats did not continually come as I recall from my prior experience. It seems like we had to wait before our favorite meat selections would come and then we would have to request it again and wait. Our side dishes weren't automatically replenished and the salad bar didn't have much of a selection. Granted, we went for Brunch which was a different experience. Maybe dinner is better but also more expensive. Still, for the price we paid for lunch, still quite expensive for not feeling completely satisfied.
Service was lacking in a few areas. Servers seemed frustrated when asking them for specific cuts of meat. Some cuts never made it to the table. Took over 20 minutes before a member of our party asked our server if she could take our drink order. The food left a lot to be desired.
The food wasn't all that great this time, I've eaten here several times before and the food seemed much better in the past. It almost seemed as if they are now using a cheaper and less tender grade of meat. Most of the beef was tough and chewy, and the bacon wrapped chicken was dry (possibly over cooked) .
Service was fairly good, but then again, in the past the service seemed better. When we first sat down the waiter didn't explain anything to us, then all during dinner we had to continually ask for polenta and fried bananas.
Overall this visit was a little a bit disappointing.
Price Wise... This place is way overpriced for what you get.
Wow! What an incredible experience. Upon walking in Fogo De Chão, we were greeted with such a warm welcome from the hostess. She took us to a table where servers were waiting for us, pulling out our chairs & they even helped me take off my jacket! Talk about hospitality! We then were explained the concept from our server Miguel. We started at the salad bar, where there were so many different, delicious, fresh items to choose from. After the salad, we flipped our cards & were ready for the main course. The meat servers brought all different types of lamb, chicken, beef, & pork to our table. Each cut was delicious and was always my preferred temperature. Throughout our experience, Miguel made sure we had everything we needed. We never had to ask for anything. Waters were promptly refilled & our plates were changed as needed. Ismar also made our experience extra special. He was constantly checking on our table, making sure we were having a great time. He really helped to enhance our experience. Matt, one of the meat servers, really went out of his way to make sure we were getting all of our desired meats. If we requested something, he brought it right away. He even remembered how I liked my meats cooked! At the conclusion of our meal, we had dessert. I highly recommend the creme brûlée, definitely the best I have ever had. Oh, and if you like to drink, you must try the national cocktail of Brazil, the caipirinha, it is AMAZING! Overall, Fogo De Chão was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had & I can’t wait to return!
Food was tasty, but I wasn’t impressed. I don’t consider myself a very high maintenance person and hard to please, but I compared this restaurant to Texas de Brazil in Schaumburg, IL and came to conclusion that Fogo de Chao was more expensive but less satisfying. Salad bar looked very small and sad by comparison. Meat cuts were of great selection but it seemed like less creativity - not the same variety of spices and taste sensations. Meat service also seemed rushed - we would have a few servers offering 2 different cuts each at the same time. It is hard to keep up what you have tried so far and what you haven’t.
We celebrated our eldest son's birthday (12yrs) and while service was good, the one thing that bothered me most was that the gauchos passed by our table to offer meats to others and we were somewhat an afterthought. Ibelieve this was due to us having kids at our table. Other than that, the food was delicious, the salad bar also had great options. We will be back!
I’m going to be totally honest with this review. I always go to Texas de Brazil In Schaumburg but they were closed on Christmas so we went here. We asked for bacon wrapped chicken at the beginning of the meal and it didn’t come till about 20 minutes later. All the meats that came to the table were very tough. They all had a burnt flavor on the outside like they were controlling the wood temperature very well. The lamb steak left a flavor of lanOlin and my mouth that I could not get out all night long. I also asked for lamb chops and they took about 20 minutes also. When my sons bacon wrapped chicken came to the table you could just touch your fork to it in the whole thing with split apart into it dry stringy mess. Totally overcooked. Every time I ask for a rare piece it would be pretty much mid to mid well.
Service is always amazing, with several people making sure that you always have a clean plate, more meat than you can ever eat, and friendly faces asking how everything is going!
The market bar food is great, and my daughter is a recent "pescatarian" so she doesn't eat meat (only fish), so she got the market bar and some grilled shrimp. The bread and the polenta fries are delicious! My favorite meat is the parmesan pork!
Very lively Christmas day dinner atmosphere. Packed with people. All the beef and pork was excellent, in fact it seemed to be the best I ever had! Salad/veg bar was stocked with everything great including cheese. Drinks were mixed well. Excellent food and price point.
Pros:. Food was very good and great selection of meats which were prepared well and served hot; Servers are friendly; Drink selection was good; Able to accommodate seating for large it small groups
Cons: With reservations and upon arriving 10 minutes early we were still kept waiting for 25 minutes after are reservation time (35 minutes total); Parking lot is not large enough - valet parking would be helpful (not offered); Noise level was a little high.
I was very disappointed with the Christmas dinner meal. I’ve been to this place a few times and I feel like the quality of the food is not worth the price tag per person anymore. The food was lacking in flavor and the selection compared to similar restaurants. I was very excited to have a relaxed meal with good company and food and apologized to my guests since it was my idea to go here. I’m not sure if this was just because it was Christmas Day or if this is the new standard.
