We had reservations, arrived early, had a cocktail at the bar and yet still got seated 20 minutes late.
Service was slow. I understand restaurants are understaffed. Still…
Salad bar was not what it used to be.
And, Open Table sent me an email saying we no-showed.
The hostess managing the reservations looked miserable.
Overall, experience was not what we are used to.
we reserved the table for my husband birthday we arrived the table is not ready..this is so sad and everything's messed up, This is so sadly and badly birthday ever
bad service ever 😭😭😭
The best customer service!!! Will dine again with family. The beef roast is so tender and tasty.
It was such a great food experience. We loved the variety!
The Chilean Sea Bass was incredible! We didn't have the full "meat experience," but will return again for that.
I was super excited to come here for my birthday dinner but was super disappointed. The food was amazing however I didn’t really get to eat that much. We were put in a corner in the back of the restaurant and had to ask 4 different people to bring around meats. By the time the meats would get to our section they would be gone but no one seemed to come back to our table with new stuff. I was very disappointed to spend $60 a person when we hardly got to eat anything. Asked twice for more side and never got them either. Totally different experience then the first time I was there. I guess just ask to not sit in the cornwr next time?
2nd time eating at this establishment, the first time was by far better food wise. The meat was not as enjoyable this time around, allot of the meat options were tough to chew and swallow.. majority was cut ends of the meat which has been severely cooked and that was very uninjoyable to say the least. Especially for the price that was paid for lunch @ 1:45
If I choose to return again, I will speak up the next time to get better choices of cut meats.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant! Can't wait to go back!
What a wonderful experience! The food was incredible, and we are already looking forward to a return visit!
One of favorite Portland dining experiences
Good as always will go again soon. Wife found a new drink.
It was fantastic lovely experience and you will see me again
I have been here 25 times. This experience was the worst. Brought business client and they forgot the dessert order after 15 min. Then ran out of cheesecake. Host spent all her time at one table. Will not be back.
Delivering you wonderful experiences, Mark, that leave you satisfied is our aim. We're sorry we missed the mark, and we hope you award us another chance to meet your expectations.
I feel the overall experience at this FdC may not mirror other locations. The waitstaff seem less proficient and unenthusiastic, and the excitement just isn't there. Maybe it's a sign of the times. There are of course a couple of stand-outs in terms of service, and the food is still good. On our most recent visit, though, the rotation of meats was very slow, often waiting 5 minutes between when someone would bring a skewer around. We have been to this restaurant several times before, and it was very noticeable on this last visit. For the food I would still recommend this FdC, but I would be careful expecting the same experience as other locations.
Our guests from New Brunswick thoroughly enjoyed the Experience. The restaurant was very busy, but that only encouraged us to eat more slowly and get more value as well as the full run of the meats.
Only problem was one of our party ordered the salmon and it was overcooked and very dry. He didn't want to say anything so as not to slow down the flow of the evening, but let's just say their kitties got a special treat.
We had a chance to sample the latest dessert, Acai Cheesecake, and though it was a large slice with five spoons it disappeared faster than all of us protesting being too full for dessert could imagine!
Kristy was amazing. She was very attentive and came back a few times to make sure we are happy.
Service was absolutely horrible. We actually had to ask multiple times to get an actual server...we just started eating without even seeing a menu.
We're sorry you didn't receive five-star service, Dave. Feedback helps us to improve, so we will certainly review this, and we hope you'll give us another chance to better meet your expectations.
This place was extremely busy- we made a reservation and it still took us 40 mins to get seated. Someone was seated before us because they knew the hostess.
We had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, so we were excited but clueless how it all worked. We didn’t get asked if we wanted drinks, no waiter came to our table to ask or explain anything. The best part was the servers coming by with meat, but the service from our actual waiter was non-existent.
For the price… I’d probably just go to a different steakhouse. We never got any drinks and our bill came out to $160, and we literally had to walk up to the waiter to pay our bill. I would say our experience was underwhelming- at best.
We appreciate you visiting, but it's disappointing that you didn't receive the attentive, helpful service our team is dedicated to providing. We'd love to have another chance to provide you with a fantastic dining experience, so it's our hope that you'll consider visiting again. Thank you for your feedback.
Our experience was not good. We made a reservation and still had to wait an hour to be seated. This place seems like a scam, when we first sat down they put shrimp cocktail on our table and only after setting it down said “that’s an extra $22”. The meat was dry and over salted. We drove an hour to go to dinner here for my partners birthday, which we told them and we were not offered the dessert which was supposed to come with the meal, we ended up leaving without it because our server hardly ever came to the table. The servers were kind, the issues seem to stem from a greedy corporation running this chain who do not care about over working their staff and over booking reservations.
We're sorry you didn't have a positive experience, and we apologize for the wait to be seated. It's important to us that our guests enjoy their visits, so please know that we value your feedback. We hope we can encourage you to return, as we'd love to achieve your full satisfaction.
My wife & I love Fogo de Chao and before the pandemic would visit at least every 3 or 4 months and take all our special guests there. We've been there for busy holidays events and understand how things can be very busy. We took my wife's sister's family there last night (10-9-2021). We were greeted nicely & seated quite promptly. The beverages and side dishes arrived fairly quickly and we our bread dishes were regularly checked on and replaced. But the meat skewers were slow to get started and then a pattern emerged that a table next to us would get served (even though they were seated after us) and the waiter would turn away from us. Then another waiter would serve the table behind us and walk a different direction away from us. We had to repeatedly ask different servers to send waiters with skewers to us. It wasn't until near the end of our stay that waiters brought us items on a more frequent basis (and we finally saw the garlic steak, parmesan cheese chicken, lamb, filet mignon, and bacon wrapped steak -- I absolutely love your lamb and filet mignon, and I also enjoy the sausage & love the bottom sirloin, but it was getting tiring that sausage & bottom sirloin kept coming to our table and nothing else). It was really frustrating that we would wave at waiters and they would still turn away. We've never had that experience at Fogo de Chao before. I would hope that waiters would be more aware of their surroundings and that even if they didn't have enough to serve another table, that they could approach the table and acknowledge the customers and let them they that they would come back. Fogo de Chao shouldn't be a restaurant where a customer feels invisible.
Please know that we deeply value your patronage. We want you to continue loving our restaurant, so we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Providing attentive service is our focus, and we will be sure to address this with our team. We plan on making every effort to ensure that future visits are more in line with our high standards.
Absolutely packed. Not sure how this was okay with COVID. Waited almost an hour past our reservation. Difficult to get service. Food was great. Still love coming but will wait a while before we come back.
We're disappointed by your words, as we never want you to have such a chaotic experience. We'd like to make this right, so please award us a second chance.
The service was great. The food needed a bit more work and the best pieces of meat kept passing by the other side except ours. But overall the food was decent for the price and friendly staff
Service and food quality was 10/10. I have visited Fogo’s in multiple
States and country’s. Portland had the best customer service by far
The food was amazing and when our puc was green the food kept coming. It is always a great experience at fogo and we always recommend this to friends and family.
The meat was not very well cooked (as in sometimes overcooked) and it took the staff 45 or so minutes to cook an entree of salmon. They recomped the entree, which was nice of them. Quality control has been an issue as of recent experience. Hopefully post pandemic they will be better off again!
Your meal with us should've been fantastic, as we love to use high-quality ingredients that ensure your satisfaction. We truly hope you'll consider visiting again, as we'd love to make this up to you. Kind Regards.
Always great food and service.
Excellent food and service. Wide selection, I do not eat meat and had plenty to choose from.
The food was excellent as always but I never saw the server after he got my drink order.
We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your meal with us, however, it's concerning to learn our service missed the mark. We hope to welcome you again in the future, as we'd love to deliver you an amazing time.
It was very good and our server was the best!
Too much food but a good value!
When I made the reservation I added that we
had two people celebrating their 70th Birthdays!
I also mentioned to the server and we were disappointed that nothing was done! It’s not
everyday that someone hits their 70th!
Other than that we had a great time, delicious
food and again great service!
Dave, Steve and Martin
Our experience overall was great! The only complaint I had was we made reservations and when we got there they said other people had been waiting so they sat them before us and we had to wait a little for a table. Which wasn’t a huge deal but it just made me feel like what is the point of making a reservation then.
25th Birthday celebration
Its a unique experience. We had a bit of trouble getting some of the "meat" servers to come back to our table with what we had requested. And my cocktail was made incorrectly a couple times before they got it right.
The server was friendly and nice. The food tasted excellent! We also enjoyed shrimp cocktails and lobster with our meal. We shared 3 different desserts as well.
The server Andrew was chatting with other tables and took over 30 minutes to come over and give us the bill. Plates were not cleaned up at any point. Couldn’t get his attention and stayed far away. No to go cups due to “shortage”. Server asked why I’m only ordering the market table, asked if I’m not hungry or am vegan or Presbyterian and wanted to know the exact reason. Meats were very dry as well. Love going to fogo but this time was really poor.
Samantha, we apologize for such an experience, as our team should always deliver attentive and professional service. Please visit us again, as we are sure to exceed your expectations. Best.
Dinner for my birthday was great, as always! We got great service, excellent food, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Great place I heard good things about fogo de chao I had to check it out for myself and everything about it was good and enjoyable good people.
We're so glad to hear you enjoyed! Can't wait to have you back in!
It was busier than anticipated. Had to wait for a table for 7 with a 5:30 reservation. But once seated family enjoyed the food and experience. First time for 4 in our party
My Aunt and Uncle were visiting from Wisconsin, so in order to do something special, we went to Fogo De Chao. It was a friday night, but we didn’t have issues with employees not wearing face masks, we always got the meats we asked for, even the filet mignon, medium rare. Or waiter, always had time for us. The experience was beyond everone’s expectations, except of my own, it is what i have become to expect, and love. Thank you, for creating experiences for my guess and I.
