The entrance to the place looks very dirty bottles of water on the tables. My waitress saw her only 2 times. I ordered a coffee for my dessert and it was cold I waited for my waitress to change my coffee and I never came back. They have many cuts of meat but they all have the same flavor as lamb. I expected more in taste for the almost 200dll that I paid for 2 people. I do not plan to return!
A solid 4/5 experience
Quite possibly Portland's best Dining Month value! Excellent cocktails and good food.
This was an amazing experience the wait was short the food was simply amazing and I would definitely go again and again. The dessert was over the top YUM! I would recommend this to family and friends. Such a wonderful time and the service was impeccable.
They do not honor the reservation times made through open table. We had a 6:15pm reservation. Checked in at 5:50pm and were seated close to 7pm. For being a meat place, some of their meet was really over cooked and tough. Salad bar was the highlight. Server was rushed and abrupt. Put over $60 worth of drinks on our bill that were not ours.
We had a reservation for Saturday at 5:45. After waiting 20 mins, we were informed that they were just seating the 5:30 reservations and there were 5 more parties ahead of us. We didn't have time to wait - we we're going to a show, which is why we made reservations so early in the evening. So we opted to leave and didn't actually get to eat at Fogo de Chao. We were so disappointed and probably won't ever go back to this restaurant.
We had a great time! Celebrated my 50th birthday on Saturday. We had a party of 12 and had a fantastic time. Would definitely come back!!
The servers were friendly and attentive. The salad bar was good and the meats were fresh right off the grill. It was a great experience.
One of my favorite places for special occasions and gatherings. The meats were all delicious, and the servers were very friendly and attentive. I will certainly be back.
We always love coming here. The friendly and attentive staff are awesome. The many choices of the Market table are awesome. Then there are the many delicious types of meat carved right at your table. Wow. It was really busy for an early Saturday afternoon but we expected that with it being Portland Dining Month.
Amazing time everyday for everyone anytime.
The food was great. Service wasn’t so great though. Water ran out, we order drinks but never came. Had to flag down a server to get the beverages we ordered. Overall experience is 3/10.
We have visited this location 10-12 in the last 3 years since they opened. We have always had a good time and enjoyed our experience. Never complained about the cost. Just took it as it is what it is. Even though my wife is a vegetarian she has always enjoyed the market table for $30.95. The most expensive salad bar available.
This last visit, we went because of Portland dinners month. (March). They had advertised that they were part of Portland Diners Month and it was $33 instead of the normal $58. They were on the Portland Diners page as a participant.
We had a dinner reservation for 4:45 pm. We got seated at 5:30pm. We were told that they were crazy busy because of the Portland diners month. We said ok. We ate as normal. We noticed there were 5-6 new chicken and pork dishes this time but also noticed 4-5 different steak cuts missing. We asked. They said because of the Portland diners month they changed their meats. I then asked to have them bring me their house special Picana Steak which they did after I asked. The first 25 min it was not brought around.
After eating we were presented with our check. I was charged the normal $58 plus my wife’s market table as normal. I asked why I wasn’t given the $33 price. I was told to ask the manager.
The manager proceeded to tell me since I had the Picana steak it was the normal price. The Portland diners month did not include select cuts. Also they had removed 5 cuts that were not offered. I said this was never told to us nor on the website. He said he knew that but they were trying to fix on the websites.
Long story short I paid full price $58 instead of $33. I had 5 cuts not even available to me because of their new menu for this event.
Going forward I will only go to Texas Da Brazil or any other steakhouse. Just because they tried to deceive us over a few dollars. Such bad business.
Every time we have normal gone with groups of 8-10. They just lost a lot of business over bs.
We think Fogo was extra busy this night due to their Portland dining month special. The food was just average, but we decided you are paying for the exceptional service at this place. The ambience was nice but it was extremely noisy and crowded.
The minute the server of our table found out we where there for Portland Dinning Month and we were not all of us were drinking his attitude became every poor and with that let us know he didn't care. The ironic thing is half the table was in the service industry and we are known to tip very well. We did tip but the experience was not a good one, thankfully the food is great!
This is my second time there, made reservations for 645 and didn’t get seated until almost 730. I get that there are sometimes a wait, but why have reservations if you can’t be somewhat close to the agreed upon time. If I were 45 minutes late for my reservation I doubt they would have accommodated me.
The service short of that was awesome. The wait staff is always pleasant and very genuine.
Booking chaos. Showed up 5 minutes before our 6:30pm reservation and was told that we would still have to wait another 15-20 minutes because they had “overbooked” the night. Didn’t apologize or offer anything to make up for the inconvenience, just said we needed to wait until the pager went off. Having no other option, my party and I had to stand in the small and already crowded bar area waiting for all other reservations to be seated. Time went by and more groups kept coming in, eventually the small bar area was too full and people had to start lining out the door. 15 minutes came and went, then 20, then 25 and our pager never went off. I crowd surfed to the other side of the bar to the hostess to inquire about the reservation. She looked at me and said “frankly, I don’t know when we’ll be seating you, it might be another 20 minutes or so but don’t mark my words because I don’t know what’s going on”. Those are the words said to me by m one of 3 hostesses at the desk. Given I had already waited 30 minutes past our reservation, I asked for a manager and was told “he was unable to assist me at the moment” but asked me to be patient. At this point our group was growing impatient due to the high level of unprofessionalism being shown by the restaurant to all people waiting and of course, people were hungry. So I started looking around other restaurants in the area that could seat our group right away, so as I was walking up to the hostess to cancel our reservation, a different person (server) came up and said that 2 tables were ready and we were given one of those tables. We finally sat down at the table at 7:20pm, 50 minutes after our reservation. Absolutely no one, not any of the 3 hostesses or the servers or either of the 2 managers running around the restaurant approached us to apologize for the inconvenience or make an attempt to make up for their poor handling of their booking system which I found incredibly careless and unprofessional and we felt unappreciated.
We came for Portland Dining month which is a great value here. They were very busy and we were not seated until 30 minutes past our reservation time. Other than that, we had a great time with excellent food and half off wine bottles on Wednesdays!
horrible was my wifes birthday they brome glasses on us spilled water and forgot to bring our perineum meats out
I went here because they were having a special for Dining Month in Portland. This is a real tourist place with a Las Vegas buffet feel; crowded with a menu that is nothing special. There are so many good restaurants in Portland, including good steak and meat places. Try someplace like Laurelhurst Market or even the Ringside to satisfy your meat cravings.
Had a 5:30 reservation, but not seated until 6:15.
Couldn’t enjoy meal because we had to hurry. Food was good and excellent service.
Drinks were excellent to start off. Service and food kept it at that level. We left very satisfied.
Great time and value for lunch.
Amazing food and salad bar. Definitely great they participate in dining month. Will be back!
The food was absolutely delicious. The charcuterie island Could be a meal on its own. The entrée meats were delicious and just kept coming. But I didn’t like the constant upsell! From the time we sat down I felt the server was trying to talk us into passing on the Portland dining month offer, which was the only reason we came...telling us we would be missing out on the best cuts of meat. When we selected a wine, he suggested a more expensive one. Before we had even had the entrée, one of the servers came around with the dessert tray. Then another server with shrimp cocktails for purchase. Then another server with specialty cocktails for purchase. Not only did it put pressure on those at the table, it just made it very hectic with all of the Gaucho chefs coming by with the meet. Kind of felt like one of those restaurants where you’re sitting with your husband and somebody tries to sell you roses at the table. It’s just awkward.
Had to ask several times for certain meats to be brought to table. Server wasn't on top of things. Overall food and value for portland dining month was good. They get you on the $14 drinks.
Such good food! It pays off to take it slow though!
We were not seated until about 15 minutes after our reservation. The restaurant is huge and the tables are packed in. It is so loud you can barely hear your table mates. We sat very long periods of time waiting for the gauchos to come by with meat.
With the $33 Portland Dining Month deal, I felt the value was okay. If the gauchos came more often, perhaps it would have been worth it, but definitely not worth it at the normal price. It was an okay experience. I'll stick with Brazil Grill.
I love the experience, but it's crazy expensive. Definitely a once every few years date night.
The server who first spoke with us didn’t seem thrilled that we wanted to do the Portland dining month and only returned to us right at the end of the meal. and my reservation changed via phone to add one more and that didn’t get done. But there was a second server jumped in and saved the day! He overheard us saying went wanted something and immediately jumped in and was hilarious and funny. I even requested him for our next time! Food was amazing
I was really disappointed that the bottle water they set on the table cost money around $7. The waiter just opened it without saying "HEY THIS COST ---" do you prefer tap water? Service seemed to take a while. Asking for more side dishes and checking out. It took us 45 minutes to check out. Also, it seemed the meat services just stopped coming even if we were green. It seems that there is a time limit?
Tried the Portland Dining Month special and was blown away! Can’t wait to go back.
The food was GOOD! The service was substandard. We were seated quickly, but we came in the middle of the server/waiter shift change and we got lost in the shuffle. We received our sides way after we started our meat selections and that was a little useless once we were half way through our dining experience. I guess the lesson learned is to come before or after shift change.

We waited 20 minutes beyond our reservation time. But it was super busy. Once we sat down, the service was immediate and food was available. Excellent choices.
I wouldn't spend the normal $65 for Fogo de Chao, even though it is really good, but since it was Portland dining week, I settled for $33. I was so full by the time I finished, but all the food was really good. The salad bar was even yummy. I had to try everything! I really liked their butternut squash soup, even though at first glance it looked like cheese. (I thought it was fondue at first. Oops!) Expensive, but now I can say I've tried it!
We had 4:30 reservations on a Sunday and weren't sat until 5:15. Hung out in the bar but place was absolutely packed.
If you like meat then Fogo de Chai is the place for you! Servers come by your table with skewers of delicious beef, pork, chicken, and sausage delicacies and cut them right onto your plate. This comes with a tasty set of sides AND the Market Table which is like a salad bar on steroids. If you’re vegetarian then that table will more than satisfy your tastebuds. Charcuterie too!
The food was exceptional. The display and foods available in buffet table were fresh, tasteful, and colorful. Enjoyed the pairing. There were a few non alcoholic drinks. Different meats, gluten free Brazilian bread. The filet mignon was our tables favorite. Unfortunately we meant to do the portland dinning month experience but did not get enough instruction from restuarant and payed full price instead.
Great food as always. We waited a very long time to be seated. We had reservations for 7. Due to dine out month we are guessing that is why it took so long. We waited over an hour past our scheduled reservation time.
They were packed!
The servers tried to get us service quickly after we sat down, so that was very nice we were all starving by then.
Great special occasion place to eat. Nice food. Good table service. Be prepared to wait for a table, even if you have a reservation. We waited an hour for our 4:45 reservation.
