Fogo de Chão is a leading Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, which has specialized in fire-roasting high-quality meats since 1979 utilizing the centuries-old Southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco. Fogo offers guests a wide variety of simply seasoned meats, that are carefully fire-roasted to expose their natural flavors, including the house specialty picanha sirloin, filet mignon, ribeye, and lamb chops to name a few. Amazing birthday experience with complimentary dessert. ALL of the food was amazing including everything on the salad bar. Could not recommend more.

We have been to Fogo multiple times and love it. However, we went early evening/late afternoon on Sunday and the food was not amazing and the service was lacking for the price.

Salad bar was excellent but a few items were not refilled once they were gone. The meats were well prepared although filet was never brought around and not enough lamb chops.

My reservation was never actually considered, the restaurant acted like they didn’t know about my reservation. Me and my date walked around with the host to the wrong table. Besides that the food was great and my waiter was awesome. Probably won’t be back though.

Here for Valentine's Day and was expecting a wait. Yes, we had to wait 45 minutes after our reservation... I'll give it to them since it was a holiday and out of their control. If the experience, once seated, was like all the other good ones I've had, I wouldn't care about the wait - because it is usually worth it.

HOWEVER, there were things management could have handled that were in their control and they dropped the ball on, for example: they knew there was going to be 900+ patrons BEFOREHAND. So why were they not prepared to keep the salad bar stocked? IT SUCKED! Not to mention the good bacon was no where to be found.

Once seated, 30 min into the meal, after only having a Caesar salad since the other lettuce was missing, we received ONLY marinated chicken and sausage. At this time i was fuming and had to flag someone down to get some decent meats. Yes, they did start coming around but I should not have to flag someone down.

I'll be back. But NEVER on a holiday!

Absolutely slammed, (completely understandable because of the occasion and weekend), but every employee we encountered was so professional. It took some time to get waited on at the bar because they were a little behind on reservation times and literally, well over fifty people at the bar that holds approximately 20 people. She was so nice taking our drink order, the waiter was so busy, but so attentive, and the added touch, which set the night, was the manager. Nicolas Valderrama, came over and made sure everyone was doing fine. Went above and beyond, especially after he found out it was out first time there. My wife and I cannot wait to come back to FOGO. To feel like my business mattered to a restaurant that was so unbelievably busy on a personal level... Well, you just don't see that everyday. He earned a customer for life. Great job to everyone. I could've have done what they accomplished tonight.

Despite having a 7pm reservation, we could not be seated for 50 minutes. All reservations were waiting. The restaurant was jam packed with customers waiting on the street. Staff was very professional. Took 30 minutes to be served our cocktails once seated.

We had 6:30 reservations. Arrived at 6:15 and were not seated until 7:30. They were not up front about how behind. The are and had a huge crowd shoved in a small place waiting. I was not pleased since I made these reservations over 3 weeks in advance.

We are big fans of this restaurant under normal circumstances, but they were completely overextended for Valentine's Day. We waited nearly 40 minutes AFTER our reservation, our service was terrible (we waited 20 minutes for wine, and were halfway done with dinner when we finally received it. Otherwise, we saw our server twice), and the food was very under-quality for that they normally provide. Very disappointed. Do NOT go here on a holiday. At $50 a plate, you expect a good experience. This was not one.

Best part of the entire evening was that they validated our parking. The staff pushed the "special of the night" on us and got annoyed when I simply asked to look over a menu. The couple next to us advised me to avoid ordering from the menu because they had been waiting for 40+ minutes and still did not get their food. Ordered drinks from the bar and never got them, but got charged for them. Promised a variety of meat and they only came around a total of 5 times. We left hungry and disappointed. Overall a bad experience and will not return.

Very, very disappointed. Was looking forward to a nice birthday dinner for my dad (84!) who loves good meats, and my family. It was crowded, noisy, and the service was terrible. At first, the gauchos totally by-passed our table, and we had to ask a server to please ask them to stop at our table. Had to flag servers down throughout the evening. Ordered a cocktail midway through the meal, and we had dessert before it arrived. We had already asked a server to cancel the cocktail, but she clearly did not. Then, we ordered desserts and they were served -- molten chocolate cake with ice cream -- with no utensils. We waited for a while, then again had to get up and ask a server to please bring them to us. The meats were ok, nothing great. The "side dishes" were infinitesimal -- I believe each serving was meant for 2 people, but we only received 2 servings while there were 6 people. The "molten chocolate cake" was a miniature bundt cake with chocolate syrup in the indentation. As you can tell, it was a bad experience overall.

I love the Brazilian steakhouse experience, and when I saw a Fogo de Chao had opened in Pittsburgh I knew I had to try it. I have been to the one in Philadelphia, which was amazing. This one, not so much. The meat was good, though not as well seasoned as I have come to expect. The real problem was the place was severely understaffed. I saw servers and waiters RUNNING to try and keep up, and they couldn't. It took a long time to get anything, the waiters were not attentive like they are in any other Brazilian steakhouse I have been in, and it took probably two or three times as long between servers coming around compared to what 8 years of Brazilian steakhouse visits suggest is normal. We could have left 45 minutes earlier than we did if we weren't waiting so long between servers. And drinks. And the bill. It also meant that we didn't get to try everything because there were not enough servers to circulate the full meat selection around in any reasonable time period. Very disappointing. It was like management set tables for 150 and staffed for 100.

When we left there were around 100 people waiting in a line stretching outside to get their tables. The place was overbooked and severely understaffed. It was a mediocre Brazilian steakhouse experience as a result, and I will not go back until the place gets better management. Knowing how good a Fogo de Chao can be makes it even worse. Other regional Brazilian steakhouses may not be as good as a normal Fogo de Chao, but they are better run than this one was.

We are frequent patrons of Fogo, and we are normally impressed with the food and service. But we cannot say the same for our visit today.

Cheap cuts of meats like pork and chicken are offered 2-3x before someone would come around with a cut of steak. And even when the gaucho brought the steak, it was usually the Alcantara top sirloin as opposed to the better cuts like bottom sirloin, ribeye, filet mignon.

Even the few times that we did get steak, it was either way undercooked (Picanhna) or completely overdone (filet mignon). While I normally love Fogo, today's experience was poor.

Made a reservation for Valentines Day. Showed up on time to a packed Vestibule of other people with reservations who couldn’t get a table. Most had been waiting over an hour. Unacceptable for the restaurant to overbook to this level, and to then report me to OpenTable that I didn’t keep my reservation.

Reservations for Valentine’s Day seemed to be seriously overbooked - there were probably 100 people standing around, waiting to be seated. By the time we were done eating, the crowd was still there, and I think people with late reservations were being turned away. Service was very slow. But the food was great, as always!

Had reservations for Valentine's Day. I think they overbooked by hundreds. You couldn't even walk in the place and everyone was seated at least an hour after their reservation. The meat was scarce due to the crowd. Overall the food was OK, the service staff was trying hard, but they were not prepared for the crowd. Disappointing at their price points as well. Will not go back.

It was Valentines Day and extremely busy. We entered the restaurant about 10 minutes prior to our reservation. People everywhere and we aren't sure where to go or how to get to the host/hostess. Then we hear our name called and get seated right away - no wait, no trying to check in. Just a smooth and easy process. This was my first time using open table and it was 100% worth it. Fogo De Chao is an incredible restaurant and everything was great! Even on a busy holiday there wasn't a time we felt neglected or waiting for something. 10/10

We made reservations for 6:45pm for Valentine’s Day dinner. When we arrived the vestibule was completely packed. It was impossible to determine if everyone there had a reservation or if they were just waiting to check in; no one from the restaurant was being proactive. We were finally seated 50 MINUTES after our reservation. The meats came VERY SLOWLY and my plate sat empty quite a bit. When meat did come around, 25% of the time the meat was undercooked (no doubt rushed). The service, except for the pace of the meats, was excellent. The ambiance was beautiful. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience. I will go to Texas de Brazil from now on.

Had reservations at 6:45. Didn’t end up getting seated until 7:45. They couldn’t handle Valentine’s Day. Should’ve never been accepting walk ins. Very unorganized. Food was okay. Too many great restaurants in Pittsburgh to mess up like this. Probably won’t be back or won’t recommend.

We had more as 1 hour waiting time before get a table. The meat was most always the same, very limited choice. Also the salat bar was moreor less empty most of the time. Not a good choice for a day like Valentinsday.

Had a 6:15 reservation; got seated at 7:10. Had a glass of wine and waited for service...and WAITED for service...FINALLY at 8:20 my husband pulled the manager aside and told him we would pay for our drinks but that we were leaving. Manager never gave us his name but brought "Juan" over stating that Juan would take care of us. First thing Juan asked was "what is your problem" -- after my husband explained, Juan said "hey, this is Valentine's Day, have you ever worked in a restaurant, we are doing the best we can." When my husband tried to explain our frustration, Juan just looked at him and said "your meal is comped." I told him that was the problem -- WE DIDN'T HAVE A MEAL. He appeared to be angry with us, said "I don't want to fight with you." He then turned his back on us and walked away. It was a sad night for me. Since I can't comment on the food, I will comment on the staff -- they all need extensive training and they need to come up with a better game plan for those holiday seatings. I think if they had stated that there were two seatings that evening things would have worked out much better for the staff and guests and everyone would have had a better Valentine's Day.

The place was crowded for dinner for Valentine’s Day. Our reservation was at 6 pm and we were fortunate to get seated around 7:20 pm (there were people with reservation who left due to not wanting to wait). Once we were seated, the food and service were both amazing. We had a great time.

We had a very bad experience here because we didn’t get to eat at all. We made reservations, which were confirmed both online and over the phone. We got to the restaurant and were given a pager and told the wait time was unknown. We couldn’t go anywhere else because it was Valentine’s Day and everywhere else was full. We had a full date night planned and could not wait so we had to skip dinner all together. We were told that people were not getting up from their tables. Maybe consider booking less reservations on Valentine’s Day because it’s a major date night holiday and people aren’t going to rush out. It was so chaotic inside it took us over 20 minutes just to talk to the person at the host stand. Huge disappointment- really wanted to try this place but they wasted our time and offered nothing for our inconvenience. Terrible customer service and organization. Do not promise a table you cannot provide on time, I could have made reservations at so many other establishments and been seated within a reasonable amount of time.
