Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
The food was good as always. I have bee here several times. Unfortunately, we were seated late and the service was slow this time. I’m not sure what the hostess was doing. Several groups that came in after us were seated immediately and I had to go up to the desk and ask if we were still on the list. Hopefully this was a one time problem.
Our waitress was below average. Didn't explain what was going on and took forever to get water and place drink orders. Overheard all the bickering between the servers next to our table. Lighting was too bright. Not very romantic for dinner. For what they charge I would never go back. The food and drinks did taste very good. The Baltimore location is outstanding by comparison.
This was our second (NOT LAST) visit in the past 4 months! This place is awesome and they make it feel like you are their guest and they never rush you out, they are fast pace but they never miss a beat with any of your concerns or request. We will definitely be going back on our date nights and special occasions!
If you're contemplating to go or not I would recommend that you make the decision to go. I would also recommend their valet parking because it's only 21 dollars which is only a couple more dollars then a parking garage or lot in center city Philadelphia. Hope this helps someone.
IF you appreciate good steak, this restaurant is at the top of list. You dont have to commit to one meat as there is never ending selection of outstanding grilled meat served hot and sliced onto your plate. Eat at your own pace, easily asking for additional meat samples until you are satisfied. That following one of the best buffet style salad bars anywhere.
Cant beat this restaurant or style of eating.
Food got good because of the salad bar. The meats weren’t great at all. 2 different people said they would bring me a filet m. And after 20 min nothing. Then I asked the waitress and she got it for me... chicken was dry. The Apple salad, potato salad and chicken salad were excellent...
The restaurant is lively and crowded. It was the perfect restaurant for my husband and sons because of the abundance of food. They enjoyed their meal.
While the decor is stately, the carpet looked dirty and needs to be replaced.
It was nice that they gave out bogo gift cards. We will use them but probably go to the king of Prussia location.
This is the place for meat lovers. I wish they had more chicken and fish selections for those of us who don't eat meat. I also think additional table choices other than mashed potatoes and fried bananas should be offered. Overall, a nice experience, but not one that I would do with any regularity.
After a long day at the eagles Super Bowl parade We ended up getting to fogo an hour early. Traffic was insane so we were happy to be early. The host greeted us. He took our name we explained we were early. He said it wasn’t a problem and he would most likely be able to seat us around 5. We were fine with that. We sat at a high top in the bar. After 3 rounds of drinks it was getting crowded and about 5:35. When we were supposed to dine originally. I noticed they were now giving out pagers. I sent my son up. Apparently they never checked in that we were there and no one would have even remembered we were there. They handed my son a pager. Never once did they apologize for the mishap. They continued to still seat everyone whom came in after us first. Within about 15 minutes we sat. From then on the men cutting the meat were wonderful. Our actual servers seemed new. They were polite but seemed either busy or didn’t really know the menu very well. They were pleasant enough but didn’t wow us in any way. One of my sons said are they even waiting on us? They asked us if we’ve ever been here before. They shoved a menu at us and said turn your coasters over whenever you want to eat. It was a very mixed atmosphere. After I still left them a very large tip that was when they came and thanked us and to have a good night. I understand with all the hoopla in the city that this isn’t the best time to review a restaurant , but on the other hand it isn’t a cheap restaurant either. When someone asks my opinion I’m always honest. After so many friends told me to come here I felt it was just mediocre.
Having been going to fogo de chão since they opened in Philadelphia is unfortunate to see some level of decline in the food and service.
Salads looked older, side dish options reduced, and some meat cuts not available. Finally, the original Brazilian staff, responsible for properly cutting the meat, seem to have been replaced for less experienced employees.
Despite these shortcomings noticeable to long time customers and people who has gone to other Brazilian churrascarias (especially in Brazil) is a good option for business meals if you go for the executive meal “gaucho experience”.
The restaurant is really dusty - from the ceilings to the wine walls there are layers of dust which was very concerning. There was a disconnect in beverage service - took over ten minutes to get wine and then they left the bottles on the table without opening them. Five minutes later they were finally opened up. Maybe no wine key? They forget half the coffee drinks and then made a story up that the machine broke - made no sense as it was coffee and not an espresso machine. Food was good but had to ask for filet - never got any sausages. Service was very friendly. They made serveral mistakes on our reservation which was annoying. Overall did enjoy the visit and will return!
The atmosphere is exquisite! The food on the other hand leaves something to be desired. The staple rice and feijoada (black beans) were room temperature! The meats were not very well seasoned to Brazilian standards. The cocktails on the other hand were quite delicious, specially the premium caipirinha.
Great people working there. It was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were a bit confused as to how it worked (you don’t order your food, it comes to you throughout your time there) and the servers and hostess’ had no problem helping us out step by step. To top it off the food was AMAZING!
