Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
This was my second visit at Fogo for a special celebration and the first time I had an amazing experience but this second time was a complete disapointment and probably will be my last visit. Some, not all, servers were a bit rude. There also were not many servers on the floor and the wait for someone to come by and offer you steak was too long. At one point, we waited over 30 minutes for someone to come by and at times they would just walk past us, despite our coaster being green. So sad, the first experience was delight but not this one.
If you’re a meat eater this is the place. Lots of beef, lamb, chicken and pork. They offer shrimp, salmon and Chilean sea bass for those like me. Food is excellent and salad bar incredible. However, the sea bass portion is a lot smaller than I had on past visits. The taste was great but small for the price. Service is always great.
Waited a full half- hour after 5:30 reservation time to be seated.
The salad/vegetable bar was well stocked and varied. The meat was over cooked and. Dry. Chicken was the only exception to this.
Service was ok, but not impressive. I ordered Wm. hill Chardonnay, but what I received tasted like some other brand.
We will not return.
I have been here 30+ times this is the first ever time i was seated in the back of the house. First time ive ever had bad service. I actually had a waiter tell me he wasnt going to being me anything anymore unless i asked him for something specically. Wow! What the hell happened? I said thank you after every service was brought to the table and very few said your welcome back. I assume this is a back of the house issue because ive never had wait staff here treat my table so careless.
The food was great as usual. Drinks and sides came out a little later than expected. I had to ask for my Guarana 2x, no biggie. The service seemed like it needed some extra help that day. Ambiance was great, although a bit crowded. We normally come for the great selection of meats and the sides bar and was not disappointed. It just seemed the service was a bit subpar that day and were maybe low manned that day. We still would return and thankful for the veterans discount!
I had a 9:00 reservation and wasn't seated until 940. Not a very nice atmosphere for a date. I found going to a buffet they call the "market table" not very classy. It was super bright and loud. The waiter was nice but the hostess had a terrible attitude both on the phone and in person. To me it was just an expensive all you can eat place and not much better. The meat was all very plain, nothing special about it, and the lamb very "gamey". 160 dollars for 2 people (4 drinks total) was not worth it at all. Lousy overall experience.
As I sit here immediately after my meal stuffed beyond belief, I am still relishing the meal I just had. It was delicious and the people there were fantastic. I went for my birthday with three others and they gave me a complimentary dessert - wow! The beef was fantastic - top sirloin was incredible. Best lamb I've ever had.
My beautiful bride of 38 years had been there before.
She RAVED about "Fogo de Chao" and how much fun it was while providing a TOP RATE DINNER!
Determined to have us try it, we scheduled dinner for first seating for 2 at 5:30pm.
We were early and had a drink at a cozy bar, which then allowed us to carry our drink (and tab!) to our table.
Was my wife's description of a great dinner accurate?
She was correct!
We were seated promptly, explained the menu and the meal delivery, after which we headed to the Salad Bar within minutes!
Drinks served IMMEDIATELY!
Then, like choreography, only a second after drinks, the waiter/servers began showing up with every type of dinner meat imaginable!
We dined for almost 2 hours on an amazing, tremendously prepared dinner feast......
we ordered dessert!
DESSERT??? You're kidding, right?
NOPE!!! A strong, fresh cup of coffee was presented with a magnificent multi layer chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream!
My thoughts now are revolving around ANY REASON to take my bride back to an amazing experience...
DINNER AT FOGO DE CHAO!!!
1 to 10???
How about 32!!!
It was just ok. The selection of meat was not worth the price. I paid extra for sea bass and it was overcooked and not good. The salad bar lacked a very good variety of items. I travel a lot and compared it to Texas De Brazil's in Memphis Tn and Memphis wins hand down. I would not do a repeat of this Steakhouse
Great location right in Center City and easy to find. Valet service is a plus. Service was great and the food was phomenal (at the right temp; see below). My only negatives would be is 1) After I finished a glass of wine, I found two fruit flies in my empty glass. Gross. After I told the server, customer service came over, apologized, and offered that glass on the house. That's it.. I'm so glad I didn't have to pay for a glass of wine that has two bugs in it *eyeroll* 2) Its best to get the meat right out of the kitchen. It tends to get cold, not room-temp, but cold.
My wife and I attended a matinee concert around the corner and arrived a little earlier than our reservation time. Peter, the bartender, engaged us in conversation and was knowledgeable about their cocktail choices. He was just about the best bartender I've come into contact with in Phila. Very friendly, not overwhelming, just right.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere matched. The timing of the servers couldn't have been better. This is not the place for a quiet evening as it is full of energy and people are constantly moving around, whether it's the staff or patrons heading to the Market Table or Feijoada Bar.
We will definitely be back, either here or the King of Prussia location.
We love Fogo de Chao but this location is noisy and extremely crowded, resulting in a slow and poor service. The decoration is dated.
For a much better experience go to Fogo in King of Prussia; same great food, beautiful place, first-class service and management.
As usual, the food is amazing and you get plenty of it. Sometimes the meat comes out dry, but for the most part it is fantastic. No complaints there. The service, however, is terrible. Despite making this reservation a couple weeks ago, they still did not have a table ready. and my family had to wait 20 minutes. I asked the hostess, a very rude brunette, why a table wasn't ready, and she proceeded to give me attitude and looks. When they were able to put something together for eight, finally, they put us behind another party in the very corner of the restaurant where it was hard for servers and food to get to. Furthermore, the servers were all over the place in terms of getting us our drinks, removing used plates, etc. Then, to top it off, I got a dessert to go and was given a squashed little piece of cake, in a crumpled box, with no ice cream (ordered the lava cake). I'm sorry, but at 50 dollars a person (for a party of 8), these things should not be happening. Next time we'll be going to chima, na'brasa, or any of the other places and get the same food, as well as a better time.
There was not much of a meat selection. We went at 8pm on a Saturday night, don't know if that had anything to do with it. I ordered a second soda and he poured it into my same watered down glass from before which gave me a watery soda. I didn't say anything but it did bother me, unless it's free refills I feel they should give you a new glass. Creme Brûlée was the worst we have ever had.
