Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
I went to Fogo de Chao for restaurant week and it was very crowded when we walked in Sunday evening for our reservation at 7pm. We were 10 minutes early and were given a buzzer to wait for a table to open (isn't that the point of a reservation?) Anyways, it was very busy and super crowded, but we were seated by 7pm. But making it all worth the $35, the food and the amount of food given to you! Some restaurants are not worth the restaurant week prices, but Fogo de Chao is definitely worth it!!!
So despite it being busy and the wait staff very nice it literally took us 30 mins to get our check because they someone messed it up and had several drinks we didn’t order. Plus on top of that they had to go back after another 15 mins of waiting to get my credit card back.
Again food and staff very courteous, checkout was a nightmare. I assumed they wanted us in and out since there was a wait but clearly their checkout process was something else
We love Fogo de Chao. This was, as always, a wonderful experience, with superb grilled meats and sides. Our ONLY beef was that the martini's were room temperature and the red wine too warm. But, the service was exceptional. Our server, Katiuska, was superb!!
I was thinking about having a family night out, where the environment and food would be perfect. I ran down a list in my mind of all places that fit the bill, and that place was FDC. After an excellent experience, FDC will be our go-to place for a great night out.
We used to love Fogo. It was one of our favorite places and we would eat there several times a year. However I’ve noticed that it has started to go down hill. The first thing I noticed was the smell of dirty dish rags when I sat at the table. The salad bar isn’t as fresh and exciting as it used to be. The biscuits (which used to be reason enough to go) were hard and dry. The meat servers used to be pleasant and attentive. They used to learn what temperature you preferred your meat and adjust accordingly when they came back around. As well as serve so much you had to flip your card to stop several times to catch up. They seemed bothered that we wanted our meat medium well (we were with our children and they don’t like their meat raw) and didn’t come back around to our table until our waiter harassed them several times. Two pieces of my meat had hair on it. My husband had to go back to the salad bar to get more food because the meat service was so poor. Our reservation was for 5 pm, well before the restaurant was crowded. Our waiter was however very good. He tried to get meat served to our table and was very attentive. I was sad to see the decline in one of our most favorite spots.
This place is fantastic! Food was delicious, service was excellent! It was my boyfriend birthday and one of the manager went out of her way and brought us a delicious piece of cake with a candle! It was perfect! I would definitely recommend because we will be coming back!
The food was really good but we went for New Years Eve and were disappointed that they didn't do anything special to ring in the new year. The server didn't offer us Champagne, which we totally would have bought a bottle, and in fact didn't even check in to make sure we had a fresh round of drinks before midnight to do a toast. I would go back for dinner, but definitely would not recommend for New Years Eve.
I have dined at this location a few times and have had great service until this night. I had made reservations for 10pm for a special date night. Upon arrival I was told I needed to wait until they had a table available and she could not provide me with an estimate time. I ask the hostess upfront if that was the procedure when you make reservations, to which she replied, what do you want me to do? I can’t do anything about it. Then ask me if I wanted to speak to a manager. I replied, I was asking if this was the normal procedure when someone makes reservations Her attitude was not very welcoming. I was well aware that this would be a busy night (NYE) but the hostess attitude was not welcoming. I then watched her give 2 other customers the same attitude. I am very shock at my experience this evening.
The food was hands down AMAZING! Service not so much. Disappointing because me and my wife have been looking forward to going to this restaurant for a long time. Server was very pleasant when she first came to the table. After that I never saw her again. Now I do understand it was very busy and they sat us in a corner table of the room which was abnormally cold so much so that we had to have a space heater brought out to the table. Kind of weird for a Top Notch fine dining restaurant. The food was amazing if you love different kinds of meat cooked to perfection definitely worth a try. Hopefully you will get a server who will at least come back once during your meal to see if your thirsty, need anything else other then the original glass of water you were given. This is why I give it 3 Stars
My boyfriend and I took our best friend here for a NYE dinner. The staff was amazing. We had several people including both managers come and check in on us. I redeemed my $100 open table gift card here with no problem. It was an amazing way and dinner to end 2017!
My worst experience . My family and I went out to celebrate with a dinner to receive the new year. After asking for my reservation the waitress took us to the back of the restaurant at the bottom where it was empty and in a long table ate the restaurant employees and where of course is far from the table of salads and entries since it is a buffet. My husband told the waitress if there was another table and she said that not and there were many empty ... I call the supervisor and made us wait for another table remain empty. “If you are Latinos I do not recommend this restaurant. They will discriminate “
We were here at XMas and, in spite of the crowds, it was a great meal. We came back again and was a little disappointed. The meat selection is awesome and is what we came for. Upon reflection, the cocktail and desert prices are quite high which lowers the overall value.
First of all Victoria and Maryam were like loving mothers catering to our every need. The Food is outstanding all around on the Buffet style serving center that carried an abundance of Veggies, Fruits as well as tasty Meats and Cheeses, I was very fond of the Sun-dried Tomatoes and The Sweet Potato pie was to kill for...Seriously use caution. The meat that they serve to you is splendid, from Lamb to Filet The drink i stayed with was the Caramelized pineapple, sweet but had a nice kick to it. I highly recommend this place to anyone, Anytime, but would be best with a large group. and Go hungry cuz you won't be able to try it all on one time around unless you plan accordingly.
Wehave been here many many times before but this unfortunately was the first time it was just OK. Definitely not worth the money. The meat didn’t come around quite as frequently and the side dishes weren’t replaced in a timely matter. I don’t think I’ll be back for quite a while.
One of our favorite places. Originally was a jewelry store but looks more like it was a bank. Very high vaulted ceiling with lots of space and right on the bus line here in Philadelphia. That saves a lot of parking $. The staff is very attentive and always nearby unlike other restaurants when you're served where the waiter seems to disappear.
Our dinner at Fogo de Chão was a big disappointment. We have dined in several other restaurants of the same chain and have usually been satisfied with the service and the food. Unfortunately this time the service was poor. The restaurant was fully booked and crowded, which increased the noise level. We waited to be served meat for 8 minutes (usual tempo is max 3 minutes but often less) and the quality of the meat was left room for improvement because we've been served really excellent meat in the past. It was so drafty where we sat (next to big windows) that we felt cold throughout our dinner. A dinner of over a hundred dollars for two people should be worth more than good salad and beans.
I had only two problems with this restaurant. The first is that our section of the dining room was VERY cold. I know it was not just me because I could see other guests wearing their overcoats while they were eating. The second problem was that some of the meats never seemed to make it to our table. After mentioning something to our waitress we were able to try some of the food, but there were still some things we were never offered.
