Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
I have eaten here probably 6 times but over a span of 10 years. Each visit was for an occasion and we chose it simply because we wanted to overindulge. We eat our money's worth of steaks so we don't mind the stiff tab. This last visit has satisfied my urge for Brazilian BBQ for at least another year or more.
The restaurant provides a vibrant, fun dining experience, with excellent service and good wine (at least, the glass of Californian cabernet sauvignon I had was excellent). The meat quality was variable, however, with some a bit dry, and the best piece of meat - the filet mignon - only offered to us once during our meal, whereas we were offered the top sirloin and white meats several times. The filet mignon really was very good. The lamb was also excellent. Salad bar was also good. One should prepare to eat a lot to get one's money's worth, so best go with stomach ready to bulge.
While we enjoyed the food, it was just too hectic. The servers are nice, but it's clear they are trying to turn over the tables as fast as possible. Do not eat here if you'd like a leisurely dinner. It might be good if you need to eat on a tight timeframe, like before a show. That said, while the meat and sides are very good, it is an expensive night out. Unless you are a big eater and/or hardcore steak lover, you can eat just as well for less in other restaurants nearby.
The service was great, and the food was phenomenal - as usual! I was there with a group of friends for a birthday/going away meal, and it was amazing! It was an unusually slow day, so it was nice to not have quite as much hustle and bustle as the place normally produces.
Reserving ahead via Open Table was convenient and highly recommended. There was a line of walk-ins when we arrived, but with the reservation we were seated within 5 minutes of our reserved time. The staff was very attentive and food was excellent. Overall, our party had a wonderful first-time experience dining here.
Very good, but severely overpriced. Good choice of meat, sometimes hard to get a well done condition, mostly on medium rare side. Hard to get the waiter’s attention. But in general - very good impression. $350 bill for 3 adults and 2 kids? A little too much for the amount and variety of food offered.
The restaurant is nothing to brag about. Most meats are over cooked and flavorless. Server didn’t even acknowledge my date’s birthday despite notating it in our reservation. Highly recommend other options when dining in Center City.
I had an overall good experience. I went to celebrate a birthday and had written it in on the reservation but unfortunately was asked if we were celebrating anything. The steak was good. Chicken was great. Salad bar was wonderful and I wish I would have just gone with that to be honest. I probably would check out other locations first before going back. Service was nice as well.
This was my second visit at Fogo for a special celebration and the first time I had an amazing experience but this second time was a complete disapointment and probably will be my last visit. Some, not all, servers were a bit rude. There also were not many servers on the floor and the wait for someone to come by and offer you steak was too long. At one point, we waited over 30 minutes for someone to come by and at times they would just walk past us, despite our coaster being green. So sad, the first experience was delight but not this one.
If you’re a meat eater this is the place. Lots of beef, lamb, chicken and pork. They offer shrimp, salmon and Chilean sea bass for those like me. Food is excellent and salad bar incredible. However, the sea bass portion is a lot smaller than I had on past visits. The taste was great but small for the price. Service is always great.
Waited a full half- hour after 5:30 reservation time to be seated.
The salad/vegetable bar was well stocked and varied. The meat was over cooked and. Dry. Chicken was the only exception to this.
Service was ok, but not impressive. I ordered Wm. hill Chardonnay, but what I received tasted like some other brand.
We will not return.
I have been here 30+ times this is the first ever time i was seated in the back of the house. First time ive ever had bad service. I actually had a waiter tell me he wasnt going to being me anything anymore unless i asked him for something specically. Wow! What the hell happened? I said thank you after every service was brought to the table and very few said your welcome back. I assume this is a back of the house issue because ive never had wait staff here treat my table so careless.
The food was great as usual. Drinks and sides came out a little later than expected. I had to ask for my Guarana 2x, no biggie. The service seemed like it needed some extra help that day. Ambiance was great, although a bit crowded. We normally come for the great selection of meats and the sides bar and was not disappointed. It just seemed the service was a bit subpar that day and were maybe low manned that day. We still would return and thankful for the veterans discount!
