Delicious cuisine with excellent service
Our server was not very warm to us, treated us badly from the moment we came in - we were dressed pretty casual, had small kids and I started asking about the restaurant week special, even warned us that I couldn’t eat my husband’s meat because he was paying for the full experience. How’s that for cheapening an experience? I was still paying $39 for what they call the “half experience” that doesn’t include some of the higher end meats, and my husband paid full price ($58) for the “full experience”.
Not exactly the best way to earn a great tip!
Our experience turned around when the manager came over and asked if we had gotten to try everything we want - we asked for filet and beef ribs for my husband and he quickly and personally came back with each. He asked if I wanted some and I said that I had only the half experience, he said that he’s in charge and if I want it, I get it! It was very nice of him, just wish the server took a cue from her manage and coworkers (see below).
Our server never introduced herself, so I can’t tell you what her name was. The other saving grace was a sweet, high energy server who was her “partner” in our dining area - she was way more kind and attentive than our server!
Would definitely go back but would hope not to get the same server!
I love going here for special occasions to get my meat on. The salad bar is also a great draw. The service is always attentive and the food is great. Unfortunately I’ve found the patrons appreciation for finer dining becoming quite lax lately. Would it kill you to put on a shirt with a collar at least when your dining somewhere as nice as this? I realize the restaurant has little control over this short of enforcing a dress code which could become uncomfortable but when I glance around the dining room when I know I’m dropping $300 I’d be nice if it didn’t look like everyone decided against the Olive Garden on that particular evening. Fogo de chows atmosphere otherwise is great which is why I find that a bunch of t-shirts and ball caps really ruins it. I will be back of course, dressed for the occasion as always.
They used to have the same variety of meats for lunch and dinner. However, today they had half the choices. Quite disappointing since we were celebrating a birthday and expected the same experience we have been enjoying for the last 8 years. Hopefully it was just a fluke. Hate to find another brazilian steakhouse if this is going to be the norm.
Always a favorite spot ... didn’t have a lot of variety we normally get on a weekend
We enjoyed our experience there! The food was lovely, flavorful, and well presented! The staff was kind and caring. The only problem we faced was these two customers next to us. The two older woman kept starring at my partner with hate. It made us feel uncomfortable. I’m not sure why they were starring at us but it wasn’t pleasant. Besides that it was a great experience!
Omg! Where do I begin? I could honestly submit an essay about this exceptional establishment, but I'll keep it sweet and simple... My first and surely not my last time going here was pleasant and deliciously overwhelming!!!! We were greatly satiated with every aspect of our experience
My wife and I came to celebrate our wedding that had taken place a few weeks ago. The wait staff was kind enough to bring us a free desert that had Congratulations written in chocolate syrup. What a nice gesutre by a greag restaurant. Definitely will be coming back again soon.
We loved this place! Everything was fresh and amazing the service was excellent it was our anniversary and they bought us a dessert! Upscale looking inside, but totally casual for dressing. Definitely will be returning!
Market Table is always stocked with fresh ingredients. Service is very attentive. Lunch price is worth the trip.
So every time we go it is 5 stars, no questions asked. However, this time it was not good. We had to ask repeatedly for refills, for ANYONE with meat to please come to our table. I sat for so long without food i was no longer hungry. We brought friends with us that had never been there and they didn’t believe all the years of good things we’ve been saying. It will definitely be a while before we go back.
Awesome experience. Our group of 4 had a great meal and the service was top notch. Really enjoyed the setting and the different types of meats.
The meat was fresh and the staff were pleasant.
Food was awesome the pineapmint lemonade was terrific I love this place
Great Great Great
Service was great but we didn’t get a lot of the food items that were offered. The guys cutting the meat went by our table a lot even though the buttons were green. We didn’t get any of the pork items, ribs, filet or some of the chicken. After 1 1/2hrs of being there, we wanted to go. What we did get was good, but I don’t think it was worth the price or time spent there. Not sure if we would be back or recommend it.
Food is great and plentiful. Noise level is cafeteria-like but other than that it’s a very positive experience and an ideal destination for a big appetite.
I made a reservation for my boyfriend and I to dine at the Philadelphia location. My reservation was for 8:30 pm. We arrived at 8:20 pm and even with a reservation we still had to wait about 20 additional minutes before we were even seated. Then when we did get seated we were stuck in this tiny corner in the very front of the restaurant, like right behind the hostess station. I didn't complain about the seat because I wanted to make the best of our night and enjoy our dining experience. We had a host come over to our table and she explain things in a very docile and dry tone, so much for some excitement. Even thought we had viewed the menu previously, it all looked foreign when we finally got there. She didn’t do a very good job of explaining what the main things were on the menu. We just decided to go for the full experience and see what happens. We then had another waitress come over and bring out some dinner rolls and some other items. It seemed like our little table just kept getting skipped over. We had one server say he was going to cook the lamb to our liking and he never returned. We had one very small portion or mashed potatoes to share and that was it for the entire night. We never received another serving of the bananas and corn cake either. The Waitress never asked us if we wanted to purchase another drink after we had clearly finished our first round, nor were we offered another drink option besides the water that was on the table. When I made the reservation through open table, I specifically implied that it was my boyfriend’s birthday and I just really anticipated the night to be special. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because they seemed pretty busy, but the overall experience was very subpar to be honest. I read that he was supposed to receive a complimentary birthday desert and we even had to ask for that making it even lees special than what I had hoped. I still tipped the waitress her full 20% even tho service was horrible.
Delicious food, great service, and considering the quality of the food, decently priced. The lunch salad bar is a great value for delicious food!
Quality went down since I was there last. Had to constantly ask for meat to come to us. Meat was a hit or miss. Sometimes dry sometimes very good. And the salad bar was not replenished. Asked for them to bring out more garlic cloves and nothing ever happened.
My wife and I recently went to Fogo to take advantage of the Restaurant Month Special. We were greeted by a glum faced hostess who spoke minimally and didn't smile. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. The person who guided us to our table (hostess/server?) informed us that she would return with a new 2 sided disk to alert the gauchos that we were there for the Special. No server came to our table until 25 minutes later when I alerted a passing server that no one had taken our drink order or otherwise acknowledged us. Someone finally took our drink order and our drinks arrived 15 minutes apart. A passing server finally dropped off our disks to allow us to eat. The meats were so-so. Temperatures were ok but some of the cuts were fatty. I understand that it was a busy night, but this restaurant should be accustomed to heavy customer volume. I shared my frustrations with a server who basically shrugged it off. There is really no excuse for poor organization and ignoring customers. We are done with Fogo De Chao for dinner.
Everything was great expect that our service pretty much never came back after we didn’t want all the additional add ones. We had to keep flagging other servers down when we needed something.
The service was mediocre. Drinks from the bar were very slow. Food was very salty and meats were extremely fatty. All cuts could have been trimmed more.
First time there, didn't quite understand the menu. Thought we were going to be able to experience all the different type of meat. We had the ribeye, Overall everything was AWESOME. We will be back again. Thanks Tony our server.
Wonderful and reasonable meal. Delicious food and great service. Would highly recommend.
My all-time FAVORITE restaurant! I LOVE the food and my Fogo Family!!! They are AMAZING for all special occasions, but I am just as comfortable coming by myself on a random Tuesday.
Went for the $39 Restaurant Month special and had a great time! The amount of food you have access to for just $39 is unbeatable; unlimited meats, side dishes, and the “salad bar” which has veggies, casseroles, sliced meat & cheeses, and more. It can be a little overwhelming with the volume level as well as the rapid fire serving of each different meat, but that’s what you sign up for when you come here. Overall great time!! Will definitely come back even with the normal $59 price, it’s worth it!
Celebrating a birthday
Coming to FDC to celebrate my husband's birthday. The night started off wrong when we were kept waiting for 25min for our table even with a reservation. I understand the restaurant was busy but it was a special occasion so I didn't appreciate the lack of attention. The mixed drinks are all extremely sweet even the lowest calorie options. Our server did not show up so our hostess had to give us the run down of the menu. This is not the first time I have been to FDC and am so disappointed. Our server finally showed up taking the order from us with a bad attitude and left with the without saying anything and left the stack of menus on the table. We waited for another 15min to be finally greeted by another man in blue shirt, who probably acknowledged our table wasn't served properly. He promptly gave us our side dishes and requested sauces so we could start eating. Half way through our meal, our drinks finally showed up and the server came back with the sauces. She clearly didn't check on our table to see if we already had been helped or not. Noone mentioned anything to my husband about his birthday celebration either. I can't believe the service has gone downhill that much here. NEVER AGAIN. Oh, the tablet they used to charge my credit card died half way (out of battery, I guess) while I was patiently waiting for it to process my credit card. Our waitress came back and looked at me like I did something terrible and broke her tablet. Unbelievable!
I will never go back to a Fogo Chao, it took for ever to see food coming for me it was a bad expirence
First time at this wonderful restaurant! The meats were all so delicious. The market table has a great variety of goodness with something for everyone! I’m not a big meat eater so now that I have had the full experience, I will probably opt for the salmon plate or just the market table on my next visit. We had a fantastic time!
I came here with my parents for their 40th anniversary. I've been here many times for dinner while it's crowded, and this was the first time I was there to see if quiet. We got there around noon, and they slowly started taking out the cuts of meat. The lamb chops we had the first time was perfectly seasoned and tender, but they were way too salty the second time. Otherwise it was really good and I will definitely come back later next year.
The food has gotten progressively worse the last few times we have been there. The meats are all cheaper quality and 75% of what was offered was chicken and pork. We had to ask for any red meats. The meats were either over heavily seasoned or not seasoned at all. There was no happy medium.
Service was slow and they seemed to forget about us for long periods of time. It took us 22 minutes to get the check and had to ask twice.
We use to love this restaurant but not so much anymore.
On a positive note the salad bar is much better now!
Gave this place another try after my previous review; and the quality and service continued to be mediocre. The quality and availability of the meats was lacking. The bar is below average. You can sense that management is cutting budgets by sacrificing the quality of their product. Further, the establishment requires urgent renovation, new carpets are a must! However, the strawberry caipiroskas were good.
Hair on the salad bar was a real turnoff. Feels a little cafeteria style and tables are packed in. Meats were very good and service was decent. Very loud in the restaurant.
Wonderful experience. The waiters were very courteous along with the managers. There was a new waiter checking up on you every 5-7 mins. The service was excellent. The food was delicious as well.
Went for an early dinner for a bachelor party. The full experience was worth every penny. Every cut of meat they brought was cooked perfectly. The salad bar was outstanding, and their sides were great (small, but there was so much meat that you didn’t miss them). Will happily return in the near future.
We have an annual lunch with our 10 to 12 friends here on Friday. It’s a convenient location for those that work in center city. Always great service and food. The latest cool thing is that they have a credit card pad for you to split the bill much easier than ever before. So, no need to have separate checks or anything complicated. Simply, pick on the tablet like device your food and drink items, and it’ll tally it. Once those items have been paid for, it comes off the bill, and you pass the credit card device to the next person. Highly recommended!
Excellent food and service. On the pricy side but worth it.
