Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - New York Ratings and Reviews
OMG! First off the restaurant is beautiful inside it's such a small store front you can't tell! The food was delicious. The array of meats was succulent and grilled perfect! The salad bar is an excellent add on but the mashed potatoes and fried polenta stick and sweet plaintans and popovers completed the meal wel l worth the price! Yes we'll be back!
I’ve been a couple times at the bar, I love the place and I know the churrascaría concept which I think it’s great when a restaurant know how to do it. So I decided to bring a date to Fogo to impress her but I was so wrong. I had the worst service ever we had 3 differents Waiters and they all were terrible. I asked the first waiter to explain the concept to my date since it was her first time he talked so fast but only you have market table meats and a choice of bass but didn’t explain her how it work and didn’t say anything about the red and green cards on the table for the meat leaving her so confused. The second waitress came to take drinks kind of rude to us then drop side dishes didn’t say what it was. We decided to do only market table at that point. Third waiter we asked him for dessert took forever to come back to us. I ordered cappuccino and she ordered mint tea, they brought 2 cappuccinos asked the waiter she ordered mint then he brought a green tea when she asked for mint tea twice seriously? at the end manager brought check to the table and asked how was everything I said sarcastic everything was really great since I was not going to be complaining in front of my date. Still left 20% tip which I thought they didn’t really deserve it.
Really really disappointed worst dinner experience ever.
I will never ever come back to this place which is expensive and not worth it.
I am a Brazilian, living in NY for over 20 years. Fogao de Chao was a big disappointment, from the sub-par cold buffet, which does not carry 10% of a normal Brazilian Churrascaria, to the unseasoned beans, cold rice and raw yuca. Other than a few slices of reasonable picanha, nothing there was good. Just do not go to Fogo de Chao.
Can’t go wrong with fresh grilled meat cut right off the spit rod. Customer service was great prior to being seated. Once seated waiter service was mediocre, especially for the caliber of dining. The market bar was good. The meat was good but seemed a little lacking in flavor and selection. The house caipirinha was excellent. I’ve been to there Miami location and service was a lot better as well as there meat selection. Overall a good experience.
Food and service was good overall. I was a little disappointed that the other cuts of meat like the smoked sausage never made an appearance from the start of our dining experience. We seemed to always get the same cuts of beef coming by every time we turned on the green disk. Would like to the full spectrum of meats the entire time instead of toward the end of the night.
We were pleased with our meal at Fogo. The variety of meats, salads and drinks was excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly. I was surprised that our desserts were extra after we already paid $65 a person for supper! I guess, I should have asked but after shelling out $65/each for an “all you can eat” meal, I assumed the dessert was included.
The service of the waiters was very quick and attended to all our wishes. The food was excellent and the feeling of the place helped to relax. The buffet offered enough choices to satisfy all our needs. We all had the meat option and were very satisfied and there was no space left for desert.
Food is delicious. Great selection of wines. It's costly but you can eat well worth the $65/pp. The staff is very attentive. I highly recommend making reservations for weekends. It gets very busy. But the place is spacious enough that it doesnt feel crowded.
This place is amazing. I took my boyfriend here for his Birthday and it did not disappoint. You absolutely must get the picanha and the feijoada. The market table featured so many delicious items. The cheese bread was delicious. The caipirinha satisfied. and the dessert lava cake was life changing.
Were lucky to secure a reservation after a theatre matinee. We arrived to the usual luxe Fogo locale (I’d been to the one in Philadelphia), and we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. It was early evening but the place was filling up, and soon was quite lively. Cocktail orders arrived promptly, and we went to the salad bar extraordinaire, with the most difficult part remembering not to overindulge there before the main course offerings.
Everything was splendid. My son saw the dessert tray go by, and of course it was irresistible. I casually mentioned it was my husband’s birthday, and so his plate arrived with a festive “happy Birthday “ written around his cake! Lovely evening. Thanks.
