Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - New York Ratings and Reviews
The servers with the skewers were amazing, so friendly and willing to bring anything requested. The server that was in charge of our table was not great. We didn't order cocktails or wine and it showed. She was not friendly, never smiled, and it felt like every request (there were 2 or 3 requests for sauces) was inconvenient for her. Overall, one of my favorite 'meat' places in the city, but the server this time put us off a little.
Overall a good experience, the food hit the spot and wasn’t super salty (has been my experience at Brazilian steak houses in the past). Only had two gripes about the place, one, the hostess was colder than the temp outside. Two, I noticed that the filetmignon and the ribeye only made the rounds three times and only for people that ordered it. These cuts were not presented to everyone like all the others.
Not up to the Brazilian restaurant standards like São Paulo o Rio ... the buffet is very limited , the presentation once again in comparison with The others places in brazil is far begin ... you need to ask the waiters to change your plates , and to give you the basics like : chimuchuri , side dishes ...
Quality of the meat is good , but very limited cuts ...
if I will come to fogo de chão inn NY , definitely nao .😱 in Brazil ... yes.
It was a good dinner the food was delicious but with so many servers sometimes it wasn’t that attentive and in our spot we sometimes got missed by the food. The steaks were excellent but for the price I feel you can just get a nice steak dinner for that price.
As a Brazilian, the name fogo de chao is a well known “churrascaria”. New York branch was the worst. Been to Las Vegas and LA branch which were much much better. Both in service and in the quality of the served meat. Overall, the experience was a bad one.
This was my first time at Fogo de Chao. I love Brazilian steakhouses and wanted to try this for my birthday which is on Christmas day. Unfortunately due to traffic I was a few minutes late, so I asked if they could seat my guests. They said no but they were accommodating still when I arrived and seated us at our table within 15 minutes. When I arrived they inquired who the birthday celebration was for and apparently forgot. I had a party of 7. I was seated next to a stroller that was in the way and made it difficult for the servers to get to the people on the end in my party. Throughout the whole meal the servers kept bypassing our table even though cards were flipped to green. We never were given a desert menu and I was never acknowledged for my birthday.
The selection of meats and the quality was outstanding. We enjoyed the salads table, but thought there could have been additional creative choices for add-ons to the salad. As it was, it was satisfying, but a few more "side-dish" type vegetable options would have been welcome.
For the price I was greatly disappointed with the service. Our server was inattentive and we basically paid over $300 for a great salad. The gauchos did not come around without us asking or flagging them down. Completely unacceptable. My first time at this brand. Next time I will stick with Texas de Brazil!
The service was horrendous tonight. The waiters kept skipping over us and ignoring us. We got the hint really quickly that they were only catering to a specific type of crowd and we didn’t fit the protocol. Our glasses remained empty just like our sides. Meanwhile others were bombarded with attention and even multiple waiters at one table! Rest assured I won’t be coming back ever.
