Service was friendly and attentive. The meat servers made their entrees readily available.
Perfect dining experience, great service and food was amazing.
My husband and I went for our one year wedding anniversary. Overall, we enjoy dining at Fogo de Chão. The food is delicious, the service is oustanding and we run into little problems. This particular visit, our server even gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary! My issue with Fogo probably comes from upper management, as opposed to the servers we actually encounter. The ambiance is wonderful except it seems like the company really pushes their employees to upsell items. It makes the ambiance uncomfortable because there is this emphasis to push guests to spend more and it almost is a turn off for dining there. I work in hospitality and have been taught about upselling products/ experiences, but at Fogo, it’s looks like the employees are as uncomfortable as we feel. It almost seems like they’d be in trouble for not trying to push the sale and they know we aren’t going for it but keep pushing it because they have to.
If you are on a date, DON’T go to this place! People are nice but the servers are ANNOYING!!! I literally couldn’t even complete a sentence before someone came up and asked if we needed anything. I was eating and put my fork down and someone was standing right there and asked if they could take my plate. I said no I’m still eating! Then she asked if she could take this plate (a different plate) off the table and I was SO annoyed by all of this that I asked her “do you guys get paid by the amount of dishes you bring back into the kitchen!” Super annoying and the food wasn’t even really good. I ate 2 different things and lost my appetite because I had to keep stopping because someone new was at our table asking the same question! And this was on top of all the guys walking around with skewers of meat. We won’t return here.
This restaurant is overhyped. The meats were good; however, the salad bar was subpar for the cost and just a disappointing experience.
Food and service was unbelievable. I will go back again soon and recommend it to others.
My occasion was I took a childhood friend there for his 50 th Birthday because he and I enjoy quality cuts of meat. This was far from that. We found that anytime the servers came out with meats that sizzled. They were overcooked , tough and dry. We waited 1 1/2 hours before I decided to ask where are the Lamb chips. Are server was very polite and said no problem how would you like them cooked. We said medium rare. 20 minutes later overcooked lamb chops came out . By this time after 3 more try’s at not bringing them medium rare I just said enough. We asked for beef filet. That never came. I was at the one in Rosemont and the lamb chops were fabulous. This overall experience was terrible because this is a steakhouse and 75 percent of the time my meat was overcooked. I payed $151.00 with tip and no alcoholic drinks and could not be more dissatisfied
Love this place so much! Keep it going!!!
We came here for an Anniversary. The food was excellent as usual. The service was very good. There were a few minor issues with service. There was no one at the omelet station, and we waited quite awhile with several staff members walking by and not assisting. Finally, we tracked down a server and they brought someone out to make the omelets. There were waffles at the breakfast station, but no syrup. I requested it from our server, but my waffle was cold by the time they brought it. I also asked for a piece steak to be cooked medium, and the piece given to me was very rare. By the time I realized it, the server had already walked away from the table. In the past when we have booked a reservation and indicated that we are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, the staff usually acknowledges that and provides a dessert. They did not do that this time. No biggie and we don't expect it, but it was not the above and beyond service when we have received in the past. These are all minor issues, and our overall experience was very good. We will definitely be back!
Use to the Chicago location. Not as good of service as Chicago. Never got our potatoes, polenta, or bread until we asked for them. Then they still didn’t come out until our dinner was almost over. Felt rushed and it was not crowded.
It was lovely.
This visit was a 21st birthday celebration. The food was good like always and we so enjoy the Market Table. Two of us had the Gaucho Lunch and the meat was done to perfection. We look forward to returning and seeing what's new on the Market Table. So much variety. We love the Butternut Squash Soup. It's the best! Our servers were excellent. The person at the entrance could have been a bit more pleasant.
Amazing like always
Good food and service. Come hungry to get your $ worth. Salad bar is outstanding so don’t pass on it.
Food was pretty good. I wish the one bar had more green salads on it, it seemed to be heavy on the cheese and cold meats. I just don't think the price justifies the dinner. No major complaints just expensive.
Since opening this place has always treated me and my family well. Lola is an excellent server very attentive. Elv and Tony as managers are doing well.
This is usually a great restaurant where we've dined several times, but the experience has become inconsistent. The restaurant was busy on Sunday evening, is perhaps a good excuse to make for this "miss"
- The hot foods were not really hot, and the sweet potato mash was actually "cold"
- The fruits were especially mushy and several pieces were on the floor which caused a near accident
The good note
- The meat cuts were excellent with right balance of flavor and moisture
- A delectable shrimp cocktail was added to the selection, a very welcome update to the menu
We are frequent diners at Brazilian style restaurants in nearby Lombard, Schaumburg & Rosemont and will be back sometime (hopefully).
We arrived early and were seated right a way. Our water promptly cam over and explain evert thing to us. The waiter was attentive all night to us. Would recommend this to everyone try at least once.
While this location is significantly smaller than its Rosemont counterpart, the staff here made up for it! From the hostesses at the door, the gauchos and servers, the managers that came by, and others refilling the salad bar... I have never seen a restaurant with so many smiling faces and employees happy to help!
We were celebrating Christmas with a group of 6, but would highly recommend this location for a group of any size. Thank you Naperville Fogo, you have been great!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
Service and food are awesome!!! Holiday treat to dine here with the family. Tip - go at lunch time. Same food less expensive. Also ask for the fried cheese. 😊
Most excellent service! Great food! Very enjoyable.
Excellent service from the time we walked in the door from the hostesses to the servers, busser, gauchos, and manager. You can tell they are a team. Very impressive and made for a very enjoyable Christmas!
Went there for a nice Christmas dinner. When I made reservations, I asked if I could pay for a small plate of something to take to my sister in a nursing home. She's terminally ill and at this point, I can't take her out. The lady on the phone said in the spirit of the holiday that they would do something. She said she would be there on Christmas day and it would not be a problem. When we got seated, I explained this to the server and he sent the manager over after we finished. She said they don't do that there and she did not know who would have told me that. She also said that we could pay for something on the catering menu for $36 that feeds 5-7 people. I again told her what the woman on the phone told me and said I would not have made reservations if we couldn't take something to my sister. I also told her that my sister doesn't eat a full serving and probably only eats maybe half of what an average person eats. She said she could not do anything and she had no scale to weigh anything and offered the catering menu. I got upset and said I will never come back here and I will be writing a bad review online, Merry Christmas. Her comment was, you don't have to get so upset. Then she said she would pay for it for us. What a joke. I wanted to pay for a small plate and I was told it would be ok. It's not like I expected to fill my plate and ask for a doggy bag for it. I found this to be extremely unprofessional and just down right nasty to do to someone especially on Christmas day. Eventually, we called her back and took what she was offering since I couldn't think of any place else that was open. She gave us some mashed potatoes, meat and salad with no dressing on it and acted like she was a saint for doing this. The food was good but not exceptional. The service was wonderful in every other way. I will never go back to this place after the way this manager ruined my Christmas day. I don't know why they didn't tell me that to begin with. I wouldn't have gone there.
Fantastic! Jose and the rest of the crew were so helpful and made our Christmas extra special! Thank you!
Love the food at Fogo. Very consistent every time we have visited. Staff is always professional and happy to help in any was possible.
It was my sons 21st Bday. We did tell them when we were seated, also noted it online with reservations. The service was great to start. The waiter came and cleared our plates, and then we didn’t see him or anyone for 20min. I finally spotted him and asked him if we can have a desert menu or our check. He said oh yeah, 1 min. Brought the menus and asked again if we were celebrating anything. We ordered and then had to wait another 20min. After it was served, he left a desert in front of my son with a candle and walked away. We ate our desert, waited again and finally I gave up and asked a different waiter for our check. We waited for him longer than it took to eat our entire meal. Kind of ruined plans for rest of the night time wise!
We had a great time once again and the food was amazing!! Our waitress was outstanding!
Food and service was great. But we were seated next to the salad bar and a service/cleanup station and it was so very distracting and busy with customers getting their food. The servers and bus boys were talking to each other and hitting the back of my chair all night. Completely ruined the ambiance. I will specifically ask not to be seated anywhere near that table as it ruined the night.
Christmas Eve and Birthday
The traditional beans , rice and farofa were mediocre . Beans were only available from the feijoada pot. Pão de queijo was very good. Meats were flavorful but not fantastic.
Server started out helpful, but midway through the meal disappeared and so had trouble getting anyone to bring the check.
I wouldn’t go back to this location for traditional Brazilian churrasco.
Great time. Had a large group and the service was great, took good care of us. Food was delicious and plentiful as always.
Bad service and food not up to par with other Brazilian steakhouses
Selection of meat is just ok. You need to ask the server to have the better cuts to come around. Lots of the cuts are very fatty. Service wasn’t that great. Very expensive for the value.
The food was great! However the service was lacking to the point where the general manager ended up bringing us our drinks instead of the server, we were never offered a clean plate. Also while we were eating people we going around trying to sell us extras(I.e. shrimp cocktails) after we said no they still tried to persuade us like we were at a car dealership. I really expected a lot more out of such a high end restaurant.
So very disappointed in our experience. This was a 40th surprise party for my husband and the hostess asked “are you here for the surprise party?” Yep! Thanks for ruining it! Hostesses should be trained to say “right this way” or “let me show you to your table.” NEVER RUIN THE SURPRISE!
Also, my husband asked 4 different waiters to bring by filet Mignon before anyone actually came by with it. He was the birthday boy!! And lastly, I told our waitress the three people out of 14 I was paying for and she charged me for 3 people AND CHARGED the people I was paying for!!!! Thankfully I saw that she handed them a bill AND myself a bill. She apologized and said she was confused. THEN ASK ME! That was an additional $110 (or thereabouts) in additional payment!
The food was fantastic but overall I was very disappointed.
Great food and awesome environment.
Always an amazing experience every time I go here. Their Coconut Creme if you drink rum hits the spot quite well.
First time there....didn’t have a good experience.
Our waiter was awesome
