Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Minneapolis Ratings and Reviews
This is a must do experience if you haven't been to a Brazilian steakhouse. The thing that made our last visit so memorable though was the service. We went for dinner on December 2nd to celebrate my daughter's birthday and the two gentlemen that took care of our table were fabulous! Attentive, interacting and kind, you couldn't ask for anything more.
Food is unique & requires some degree of experimentation. Our 10 year old only ate salami, bread & mashed potatoes & his mom only ate plain salad, pineapple & 1 piece of steak. $75 was way too much to pay for them. The waitress said she would adjust the bill for the salad eater if she ended up not eating much meat but a different waitress brought the bill and I noticed that it wasn't adjusted later.
Am not sure why- with a 4:00 reservation for which we arrived early and there were MANY open tables- why are we seated in a tiny space between the server station and the bathroom???? My husband kept getting bumped from bathroom traffic and I kept having wait staff wisk things over my head. Really disappointed as this was following our holiday celebration of New Standards. We would have had more ambience getting a to go box and eating in the car :/
A couple of high school buddies who wanted to get together for a good meal in a nice place. This is and was so much more. Great food, great atmosphere and more people stopping by to make sure any request is filled post haste.
I am a regular but brought a newbie with me and he was, WOW.
I went for lunch with my sister to celebrate her birthday. We had a fantastic meal and the service was great. At one point, someone noticed we had been waiting for meat to come around for a while and asked what we wanted so he could send it to our table. Will definitely be back for another special occasion.
We met a couple new waiters tonight, big Nick and little Nick. Both were amazing and had a great sense of humor. Big Nick (who was actually the smaller of the two) completely changed the way I want to eat bananas at Fogo. Matt took care of my whole group and went above and beyond what he should have done, but that’s why we eat here so often. The food is great, but the people are better.
Service and food was impeccable!!! So nice that Fogo de Chao celebrates Veterans weekend.!!! We really appreciated the savings, and we were celebrating 2 birthdays, and we received 2 free desserts of our choice!!!! It made our night very special!! Thank you!!
We have been here several times and have been very happy, however this past Sunday was not the case. We were there for my husband's and the best part was the very nice lady at check in and coat check, she was fantastic. When we were ready for our meat, there was plenty of ribs, pork and chicken, but very limited steak. As I was waiting for some form of steak a worker asked how it was going and I asked if we could get steak, as we have done before. He was not very pleasant and wanted to know what kind and how we wanted it. I said filet would be nice, I would like mine well and everyone else would like rare. When we did get it, they only had rare and said he would return will well, and never did. The rest of the experience was just ok, not what we are used to here. I actually left not very full. As I said before, we love coming here, but after this past Sunday, not sure if we will return. Not the experience we have been used to. Very disappointed.
Fogo de Chao is a great restaurant to try several items and to get totally filled up! Great food! My husband had the full experience. Having dined here before, I knew the Market Table was sufficient for me.
My only concern was that we were tucked away in a corner table and sometimes forgotten while the next table a little closer to the hustle and bustle were never left waiting.
It’s a meat lovers paradise but my favorite this time was the salad bar. No where else can you indulge on delicious chicken salad and nova salmon in large quantities without any limits. You can truly indulge in what you like best. My only problem with the whole dinner was that I felt rushed. The dinner conversation was frequently interrupted with questions from the staff. I know it is the nature of this place and you can turn your coaster from green to red but the cadence was much to fast. They must like to turn the tables as quickly as possible to maximize their revenue. I felt like we were pushed to eat dinner way to fast. At these prices you shouldn’t have to worry about that. My adult children like the food but I am not sure I will be back soon. I dine out frequently and prefer to savor and enjoy my food and the experience.
Surprised to see the remodel. Stark and institutional. Tight tables and packed in diners. The old Fogo model was cozy and a great place for an upscale dinner. After learning that the company had been purchased and revamped(doubt that it was done from a customer experience as everything was perfect), it's easy to see where their going with the new ownership- more volume = profits. What once was a unique experience has been turned into an expensive Old Country Buffet. The staff was professional and the service was excellent but Fogo has lost special place with us. We're moving on.
Surprisingly disappointing this visit. We were over-approached at the beginning of meal with servers. 4 stopping in to get drink orders. And under-approached at the end of the meal - having to finally flag down a manager for the bill. After the first 1/2 hour of sitting down we were abandoned by servers. It was not busy, and there was plenty of staff. Meat was disappointing as well - kept getting the same 3 meats offered over & over. When we asked for specific cuts, they brought two of the 3 we asked for - after we asked a 2nd time. However, one server found out my favorite cut & brought it often, which was much appreciated! Some of the meat was dry and not seasoned right. The salad bar had a lot of sad looking fruit. All and all a disappointing trip to Fogo. We go often in multiple cities and this was our worst experience to-date. Just an off-night, maybe?
my service is just really disappointing I know Halloween was a school night but it just was really awful at the end of our meal it took forever to clear one plate for my table as everybody else in my family had been cleared up I also was offered a free dessert for my birthday but they didn't even bring me a dessert menu so I could buy dessert for the rest of my family if I had so chosen to and it took an extraordinary amount of time for someone to get my credit card and then return it all in all I was just absolute is appointed and I'm a fairly regular customer we come in to celebrate birthdays and fun things 4 or 5 times a year but I definitely think I'm going to rethink that now
