Inside the restaurant we have incorporated Brazilian contemporary architectural design with modern imagery and elements that pay homage to gaucho traditions and our Southern Brazilian roots.
Fogo de Chão is an authentic Brazilian Steakhouse (Churrascaria) that has been setting the standard in Brazil for the past 36 years. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill and carve tableside each of our cuts of meat like Picanha (signature sirloin), Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Fraldinha (Brazilian sirloin) Cordeiro (lamb) and more. Excellent salad bar with a nice selection of items. The carved meat was outstanding and service was attentive. Definitely will go again.

We came here on a Sunday night to have a dinner. We have our expectations as this place was priced higher than other churrascarias. Nonetheless, we were disappointed. We arrived to the time we made our reservations. Unfortunately, it was towards later in the evening (8pm) and while we were still waiting for some meat to be brought to us, we were told that the restaurant was already closing. Meanwhile we were waiting for our waitress to come by and get our dessert order, we weren’t notified that she already had already left. I hope this is not their usual time delay on service.

Perhaps they didn’t expect anyone to not do Restaurant Week, but we never did get our filet or other premium cuts, even after asking 3 times. Finally we gave up and left.

Went on the DineLA package. This package meant that you were ignored throughout the dinner due to the fact that you didn’t “UPGRADE” to the prime meats only available with an additional $12/ person. Servers would look at our table and pass us by because we were on the DineLA package.
We have been there many times before and were very happy with everything. So if you’re planning on going with DineLA don’t go hungry

I do want to commend the service team on being very attentive and the salad bar had a lot of great variety. But...the meat was very salty (almost every cut of meat). Make sure you decline the "first cut" as it was the saltiest. Lots of young kids, babies running around, so not a quiet environment.

I love this place and go on special occasions. However this is the first time that I was, not once but twice, overcharged or manipulated on the check. First the check had an extra dinner and drink costing about $70 then when I noticed and had that removed our group split the check with $100 of cash added. Well conveniently they forgot to subtract the $100 cash somehow it "disappeared" so thankfully I thoroughly check things and noticed we were still being charged too much. Then they said "I forgot about the cash" The food is amazing but make sure you double check the check because we were almost overcharged a total of $170. completely unacceptable.

Disappointing salad bar. Un ripe fruit that needed to be cut. À la carte shrimp cocktail to be paid on top of expensive all inclusive price. Crowded seating when ‘gauchos’ and other guests bumping into chairs. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in, our feet were sticking to the floor. Horrible aroma; like the toilets were overflowing.

Food and service was amazing, though.

If we had never been there before, the initial ‘contact’ would have turned us away.

Fabulous ambience and a cooked to perfection parade of quality meats carved at your table complimented by the bountiful and varied side salads and side dishes buffet!! Throw in a great bar n quality wines with those delectable gratis shots they walked around with...wow! It was a great Christmas dinner. Instead of stuffing a turkey this year, our group were the stuffed ones n the turkey thanked us! Fogo de Chao is the Best meal always! Never disappoints! We had three newbies in our group n they loved it.

The food is great, it never disappoints. But the service was very much under siege this night. We were warned that it would take 30 minutes to be seated despite our reservation, and we were relieved to be seated in 25 minutes. Our table was right next to the door to the restroom and we got a lot of people jostling us on their way to the restroom, and people stood waiting for their parties while inches away from our table. Despite being in such a high-traffic area, we had no idea who our waiter was and couldn't get sides or drinks when needed. Someone finally dropped off a plate of polenta and plantains as well as mashed potatoes but they were cold. We waited 20 minutes after our meal to get a dessert menu and for someone to take our order. I normally would recommend this restaurant for special occasions as they've handled crowds well in the past, but they really seemed to be struggling and service at our table suffered for it.

Made reservations for 4:30 and didn't get seated until 4:45 which didn't bother me too much. However, they seat us in the back where the workers are eating when yet had seats on the front. Not cool. Since we're way in the back, we barely got any service unless I stood up and walked over to one of the servers to complain that we're not getting served back here. I did this 3 times. Again, not cool. Barely getting full and this guy comes by offering us some small cocktail shot. Not just I but my whole family thought they were free but I got charged 12.50 x 3 which is 37.50 too much. Now this was the last straw. Strike 3 and you're going to get called out. Did I complain? No...why? Because I was with my family and didn't want to make a scene, especially on Christmas. What do I want? At least my 37.50 and please don't be cheap and offer me a gift card. Thank you.

Came for Christmas Day lunch with my mom and boyfriend. My boyfriend and I were at this location on 12/31/2016 to ring in 2017 and had such an excellent experience, we decided to dine here on 12/25/2018. The name of the server on my receipt said "Erickson" so I don't know if that's the original server we had, but he was horrible. He was one of the only servers I saw wearing a Santa hat that day, and that's all I can do to identify him. Anyway, he took our orders, then seemed more attentive to the other tables. My mom can't eat too much red meat, so she ordered the salmon. All of a sudden our server was no where to be seen, never came back, and ditched the tables he was initially helping. I never saw him again until we left the restaurant. Also, we had to ask at least a couple of times for my mom's order. Thank goodness she was able to go to the salad bar, because it was more than 30 minutes since we ordered. Her order finally came, but after my boyfriend and I had long finished our Brazilian BBQ experience. My mom was pleased with how her order tasted which is a good thing, but we were quoted a 15 min wait time for the food by our original server who was still absent at this point. The other server picked up where the other guy ditched us early into our dining experience. I think the new server said he was originally from Florida - I didn't get his name. That guy was terrific.

On top of that, I didn't appreciate that my mom was told by the hostess that "we don't take walk-ins" when I sent her to check in for our reservation. The "Moscow mule" I ordered from the original server was terrible. All I could taste was the lime.

Aside from that, the food itself is great as usual. However, I do not plan to dine at this location again. I've been to the Beverly Hills location multiple times and they have been consistently good. I can also have my car parked there without having to drive around to find an over priced parking lot. Also, the servers don't just disappear.

Fun place to dine but prepare for an outstanding bill too. Made the mistake of bring 13 -15 year olds and there is only one option for them which is the full priced buffet.

The waiters and the whole staff showed clear bias towards the table next to us. we spend most of the dinner and the waiter did not approached us. Our waiter went over 10 times to the table right next to us and was extremely attentive with them but not once did she come to our table until after we had been there for over an hour.

Me and my wife went to the downtown location for the first time. We were celebrating our anniversary. The service was great and the food was good for the most part. A few of the cuts of meat were not as tender as I expected.

Caveat, the restaurant appeared to be filled to the brim with holiday parties, so our experience may not be typical. The restaurant was extremely crowded. We had a reservation and stood by the front door for a good 20 minutes waiting to be seated and we were only a party of two... as parties of twelve were sat ahead of us. The food bar was decent and the meats cut by the servers at the table were just good. However, for $62 I don't see the value. I can order a full rib-eye at most decent restaurants for $40 or less. And because the meat is served a little bit at a time, I probably ate a lot less than a normal steak. They bring other "fillers" to the table to get you to eat less meat. If you're someone who likes to gorge yourself, this is a great place. If you just want a quiet dinner for two, I wouldn't recommend it. It was the least impressive $250 dinner for two I think I've ever had.

We went during the holiday rush. There were many company holiday parties going on, but the staff were able to accommodate our small group. We still managed to get around and go to the buffet. The food was great! Very filling!

Forgo de Chao in downtown in LA is awful. A far cry from their Beverly Hills site - where there is plenty of room between tables, the salad buffet is roomy and each item has its own serving fork, the beef/chicken/pork items on skewers are fresh and the waiters are happy to provide something cooked to specification. Downtown, forget about it. After a long wait for a table we were finally seated - but the waiter asked us to move to another table to give him more room to serve other guests. The food was terribly overcooked - and the request for some rare items, like lamb chops, was ignored. I had to flag down a waiter for a drink re-fill. The general attitude was surly. The only thing good about the place was the amazing rolls - but you can get those in Beverly Hills at a much better version of Fogo de Chao.

Absolutely loved the dining experience. This was our first experience going to a Brazilian steakhouse and the service and choice of meats were perfect. I loved how attentive the staff was and how serious they are about perfecting their craft. Will be coming back for more!

Even though we had a reservation, we were sat over 30 minutes after our arrival time. As I was running a bit late, I took an expensive rideshare, only to arrive early and have to wait way longer than it would have taken me to just take public transportation. I wish there was a restaurant with just a cheese, charcuterie and vegetable buffet. That was definitely the highlight of this restaurant. Some of the meat was disappointing. The garlic beef was basically a garlic-flavored hunk of beef fat. Weird mouth feel, probably should have passed. Filet Mignon was the highlight. It was also scarce as they were coming around to dole out meat. Our table was off to the side, so I feel like we got forgotten at times. They were very busy, but as soon as it cleared out a bit, they could see us again and we started getting water refills. I guess the benefit was that we didn't get bothered about add-ons as much. This would be a good place for a group to come for a celebration. Especially if they can arrive early and take their time. This is really a place you could eat leisurely and have great conversation -- and maybe a couple drinks -- in between meats. I would not recommend for a holiday meal like we did. If I ever do this again, I would probably prefer to come for lunch.
