Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
We've been going to Foga for several years to celebrate special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. Unfortunately, the quality of the restaurant has declined slightly. I doesn't feel like a fine dining locations anymore due to the drop in dress code rules. I made the effort to dress well to frequent this restaurant but we were surrounded by t-shirts and ball caps.
It wasn’t what we thought. The meat didn’t come around very often then at the end my husband was still eating waiting on more steak to come around while I was eating dessert and the waiter took his plate and gave us our bill. We weren’t done yet. It was expensive but we knew that going in but the experience was only once. We won’t go back
Fogo de Chao is my foance’s favorite place to eat and we went to celebrate Valentine’s day. The service was only okay, we saw our server only once when she came by to take our drink order, she never checked by on us to see if we needed anything else. The food was pretty good, although some of their meats were a bit oversalted. We have been to other Brazilian steak houses where they include shrimp to their menu which allows you to have a bigger variety, Fogo offers mostly chicken, pork, lamb, and steak. The salad bar had a great selection of various cured meats, cheese, and veggies. I also ordered one of their speciality drink (their strawberry hibiscus) and it was not good at all! It tasted like cough syrup! The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and romantic.
Overall for the amount of money we paid and the selection that we got, I would say Fogo de Chao is middle of the road for a Brazilian Steak House.
Every piece of meat excluding chicken and pork that was brought to the table was cooked medium rare even when we asked for a medium piece, my husband requested two separate times for a more well done piece and they told him they would be right back with it and never seen either of them again. It was overall a disappointing experience compared to every other time we have been there.
Restaurant not very busy and they seated every one right next to each other and said they did this to make team service possible.
Asked by waitress 3 x if a special meat wanted brought out. Told her yes and each time told her they still had not come. They never did even after 20+ minutes. Also asked for dessert menu and waited 15 minutes to have dessert order taken. My son ordered an extra coke and when finally came (about 15 min) later I said to him.. forgot you ordered that.
Not sure what the team service was.. not sure why we all got crowded together for the service did get. For a $70 + per person meal sure expect better service than that. The adage you get what you pay for sure wasn’t right at Fogo tonight.
Enjoyed the Sunday brunch. Good variety of items that were well prepared and presented. Full salad bar and large Brazilian meat selection offered. The service was great and the family member celebrating a birthday received a free dessert of choice! Would highly recommend and plan to return!
One of the best bread rolls I’ve ever had from a restaurant, Great salad bar. Then it ended there... meat quality wasn’t good. all beef varieties were below expectation, lamb was too cooked although I asked for medium rare. I had high expectations for this place based on friend/family recommendations, but I’d rather spend the same amount of money to for better quality not quantity. My partner had exact same opinion of the place.
I went to Fogo de Chão last Saturday. It was the last Saturday of Devour Indy and they were packed. I had a reservation for 2 at 9:00pm and when we got there we did have to wait a little bit for our table. It was no big deal and we went to the bar to grab a drink to enjoy ourselves while we waited. When we got to our table Eric was our server and he did awesome! He was very attentive to us even though it was a very busy night and he had a lot going on. We requested to have the filet brought over to our table because that was the only thing we hadn’t gotten yet. He kept checking in on us to make sure we got it and we got everything we could want. The food was fantastic as always and I can’t wait to go back. I definitely recommend Eric he was very friendly and cared about us and made the experience great!
Food was good but services was really bad. Was tucked in a back room where they did not come around often with the meat. Didn't fill our water and tried charging us for drinks we didn't get. I usually really like this place. Not a good experience this time!!!
Food service was slow and it wasn't that busy. We didn't see many of the meats come around. When we did request a specific meat, the staff was attentive to bring the table what we wanted. Ordered a glass of wine and after 15 minutes we didn't receive it so we asked for the check and cancelled the order.
