Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had a wonderful date night together. Wonderful staff, and great food. I highly suggest a The Seghesio Zinfandel and the lamb. They’re wine list is wonderful, and it was worth the 45 minutes it took to drive there.
We’ll be going back again.
The service was ok but they were clearly understaffed. I understand not wanting to turn people away however this was not our first visit and we know that you can do better. The servers did the best they could under the circumstances but last night would have been a night where the manager table visit would have been nice. Also, our reservation noted a special occasion which was not acknowledged at all.
My boyfriend and I started the Whole 30 in January and friends called and wanted to get together. Fogo was a fantastic choice! While I missed my usual glass of red wine, the salad bar and wide selection of protein options made it super easy to stay on the program and enjoy a night out with friends.
I was in town for a convention for baseball coaches and brought customers to dinner on Friday night.
As we got there, Tim, the GM, had us in a private room and the service was outstanding and very well done. Some of my customers had never been to a Brazilian restaurant before and they were very well pleased. No on left hungry and there was one problem, the water did not work and bathrooms were unavailable, but, that was not anyones fault inside the restaurant.
Thanks to Tim and his staff for the great time, service and food.
We ended up in the back corner of a small room off the main dining. The tables were so close to each other we could barely get out nor could the wait staff get in. Not a good arrangement for a restaurant of this nature. Our waiter disappeared after our initial seating and the only other waiter in the room ignored us until we were almost finished with dinner. Not the experience we are used to at this restaurant.
Not at all what we expected....only offer two sides you don’t get to choose .......seems to pricey for just that.... the meat being offered was good however they give you a little piece and the thing you may like the most doesn’t come around again for maybe 40 min, so basically it seems the really good stuff is very minimal......$150 waste 10 year Anniversary dinner bust 😐
We came here for my in laws 50th wedding anniversary. The reservation stated this was a special occasion. Nothing special was done! Our waitress was pretty lousy. Several of us had been there before but there were many that hadn’t. She explained nothing of how it worked. The food was great but our overall experience was that it felt like an overpriced Golden Corral.
Really good cuts of steaks that they bring around to you table and cut off at your table. It is all you can eat. They also have chicken & pork options. They have a nice salad/side bar also. The wine list has 250 choices and they have a full bar for other types of drinks.
Fogo de Chao's food is excellent and my sons enjoyed trying all the different cuts of meat. Our service was weak. We were asked if we had been before and told the server we had not but we did not receive any directions and had to call him back to explain the process. I ordered 3 wines before finding one in stock. We had to ask for side dishes to be provided. They knew we were celebrating a birthday but don't do anything special for birthdays. I only recommend this if you are interested in trying the various cuts of meat as that is their focus.
Went for Christmas Eve to have an unusual special experience. The atmosphere is nice and the salad and side selections were good. But the hallmark of the place of the roving servers with endless pieces of meat in a wide variety was very disappointing. Most of the meats were dry and not that good. We saw rib-eye once and asked for it—despite repeated servers asking us, it wa 20 - 30 minutes before ribeye was offered. Never saw filet or other top options, while chicken drumsticks and sausages were frequently offered. Drink service also unusually slow
We have been to Fogo for special occasions in the past and always walked away feeling special and well taken care of. This occasion, we were disappointed in both the quality of the food and the service. I felt pushed to fill up on chicken and pork and had to request the better cuts of steak and lamb on more than one occasion. In addition, the wait staff were not coordinated as in the past, and we had to request and wait for drinks and rolls/sides. I ordered one glass of wine and was sent another glass that I did not request. My husband was charged for additional sodas that he did not receive and all had to be removed from our bill. We walked away feeling we had been taken advantage of and did not feel the food was the premium value we expected. Doubtful we will return until I hear from others that management brings this restaurant back to the level it used to be.
I bring my employees here every year for our Christmas luncheon. Service was bad this year. We had to ask several times for clean plates. They didn’t bring meat to our table often like they normally would. We asked for specific cuts twice and had to ask again after waiting 20 minutes. I complained but it was too late in our meal to make a difference. They weren’t that busy compared to past years. Maybe because they’re are more choices downtown these days.
Fogo is my favorite restaurant when service is great like it normally is.
Been to Fogo many times in many states, but this one was the most chaotic. Not sure it it was understaffed or mismanaged, or just too many tables, but it was a very poor experience. The waiter by committee approach completely failed. It took 30 minutes to get any bread or sides, the meat choices wee very slow to come out. The worse part is It took 40 minutes to get the check and get out. I expect far better service for what we paid. I think I will stick with Morton's, or St. Elmo's next time.
Fogo De Chao has been a family favorite for several years. The grilled meats served tableside are a treat, and the fresh bar always pleases everyone. They do a great job training their staff members, who provide excellent services. It's not a cheap place to eat, but you get a lot for the money. Highly recommended!
This restaurant has become a birthday tradition in our family. The salad bar is fantastic and includes much more than the traditional tossed greens with croutons. Salmon, prosciutto, cheeses, Palm hearts, sun dried tomatoes, fruits and fruit salads, etc. The meats are all so flavorful, hot off the grill and they will specially prepare meat for you if you prefer a selection more well done. They will provide a complimentary dessert for the birthday person, prepared with a decorated plate that says, Happy Birthday and a candle on top as well. Excellent food and service.
Service very mediocre. Waiter asked if we had been to the restaurant before and even though we said no did not explain cost or process or options in any kind of comprehensive way. Wine totally overpriced – a bottle of Meomi Pinot Noir was on the menu for almost 4 times its retail value which is ridiculous. Took almost 10 minutes after dessert to get our coffee, took another 15 minutes after that to get the check. Food also mediocre. Asked for medium rare fillet mignon and there was zero pink in the steak. Had to make a request to at least three more people before it finally arrived. Almost always had to ask for new plates. Spending over $200 with two child priced meals for this experience was very disappointing. Will not be returning.
The food was great. I believe they overbooked which we had to wait a while to get our table after our reservation time and the waiting area was packed. The worst part the bartender at the bar seemed to only serve women. Guys finely had to start sending their wifes to get drinks because they would never get helped.
