Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
Husband and I had a really nice anniversary dinner at Fogo de Chao. We enjoyed the buffet of fine foods and unique dishes. We liked the mashed potatoes with the meal but didn't need the other two parts, personally for us. The meat was never-ending! They were generous with the portion served and I personally enjoyed the crust and rubs on the steaks with the juicy inside. We even got FREE dessert for our anniversary and the creme brulee was a creamy heaven! So delicious!
We will return to share this experience with our oldest daughter when we visit Indy next!
The service was very slow,it took forever to get our drinks and we didn’t get anything from the Bar ,just cokes and Ice tea. The food was ok but again very slow service. The people where friendly but very slow to wait on our group. We have ate at other locations of FOGO in TX,TN and the service and the food were much better than this location this is why we tried FOGO in INDIANAPOLIS for the first time. It was a big let down for our Business Group. And at this time will not use them again.
The food was great, but the layout made it hard to navigate from the market table to our seats. The noise level was not overwhelming and overall provided us a great experience. We were there celebrating a birthday, and I think it is great that any dessert can be picked. Overall great experience for a special occasion.
The service was disappointing. We had to ask for our drinks (a glass of wine and beer) 3 times and they arrived after we finished our salads and had started dinner. In an upscale restaurant I expect to be able to get a glass of wine quickly. Then the server had no idea how to pour a beer from a bottle and overflowed it on the table and didn't offer to get a new one. The food was great though.
I loved the food, every bit of it was wonderful! Service was very polite and helpful, our server kept us laughing. The only thing I didn’t like was the temp, we were sat in a room off the dining room and it was super cold in there I asked serval Times if the air could be turned down and it never happen. My finger felt like frozen french fires, I had to keep rubbing them together.
Table reserved with Open Table App. Walked right in and were greeted by name. Always an incredible dining experience. There is something about that freshly roasted meat sliced right onto your plate. The delicate cheese rolls and garlic mashed potatoes.... mmmmmm Top that off with a expresso or coffee and desert to share . Perfection. Their Market salad bar is also incredible. If you can resist watching all those skewers of perfectly roasted meat.
Fogo always has good food but this branch -- like so many of them -- was service challenged. Delayed drinks, slow plate changes, disappearing servers...not terrible but very annoying. I hosted a party of four for a business dinner. Just not what I would wish for with a tab nearly $400. I can't decide if it's a system problem or a training problem.
Absolutely delicious. When I first got there, I was concerned that we would have to wait for food to come to us (they serve you individual cuts of meat for a flat fee) but as long as we indicated we wanted more (by flipping over a card) they would come by and serve us whatever was available. Everything was delicious, we left so stuffed neither of us could have another bite.
Honestly this was by far the worst experience I’ve had dining here. I’ve been here many times and this may be my last. The two hostess gals seemed in way over their heads. Reservations were being sat late because they seated too many walk ins. Our server took my drink order around 5:40pm. At 6:15 I had still not received it. He mentioned something about the bar being slow but after several more minutes I ended up just canceling the drink order altogether. The first basket of rolls were delicious. Hot and perfect!! The next basket were hard and lukewarm as though they had been sitting out for a long time. The salad bar was good. The meat was fine. The polenta (which is what I come for) was not good. The first round was hard and greasy. The second round seemed extremely undercooked. I usually LOVE the polenta and rolls and was extremely disappointed in both. Overall, it was just a very mediocre experience for what I expect from this restaurant.
Ok - so, we had been to this restaurant several years ago and our daughter remembered it and wanted to go back. We attended a concert in town and made reservations for after. It simply was not as good as we remembered the first time. The food was average and the servers came across as rushing you to finish and free up the table. For the price ($341 for a party of 4), there are MUCH better options in downtown Indy.
Where to start? No bartender so drinks were crafted at the whim of waitstaff leading to delays and sketchy mixology. Large gaps in sightings of guys bearing red meat skewers and pushy hawking of shrimp cocktail. The question arose was our service sub par due to our decline for seafood when the aforementioned crustaceans were previously available on the salad bar? In the past there were multiple thin slices of perfectly prepared beef which has been replaced with large chunks of roasted red meat which is less desirable. We were a table for 8 and received one tray of bananas and polenta;really? The final disappointment was the dessert. Papaya creme is on the menu but missing in this restaurant; really sad given we had a 5pm reservation. We've experienced Fogo in other cities with less than desired results always holding the Indy location in esteem, it appears now this location has fallen to the mantra of low quality and high turnover
The restaurant delivered what it promised, which is buffet style appetizers and unlimited (tasty) meat served tableside.
The noise level was too high for my tastes.
I was rather irritated when the meat waiters regularly bumped shoulders with me and my guests...to push their way to the table and slice the meat. Seat spacing needs to double or waiters need to be less pushy.
The Revolving head waiter system was irritating as well. It led to uncertainty when taking and delivering drink and dessert orders.
$100 per person was the bill and only half of us ordered alcohol. My expectations were much higher for a dinner tab in this price range.
They only care about good service to large parties. We had to ask 6 times for lamb chops, and they did not come until the end of dinner. The only things.that were frequently offered were the cheap cuts...who goes to a Brazilian steakhouse for chicken or sausage???? Finally, why do the plates at the salad bar have to be hot, like who wants wilted lettuce?
