Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Houston Ratings and Reviews
We had reservations but there were a ton of people whom also had reservations. all of us were elbow to elbow waiting with buzzers for a table as if we had none. It was way overbooked. The salad bar was ok. It seemed the design of everyone taking care of everyone rather than having a dedicated waiter was not working out. We had to flag down the staff several times for cocktails when our glasses had been empty. The meat was good. The problem was getting someone to bring it to your table. I normally get full off of a kids meal so in no way am I a big eater The staff asked us if we needed anything but nothing of substance was being delivered. We finally got tired of waiting and being hungry They asked us again was everything ok and I told them it’s uncomfortable begging for food and this was not my style of restaurant. At that moment 4-5 people must have been sent to our table. The meats were good. I wish the service was better.
We had been to Fogo de Chao many times before throughout the past 10 years.
We went this past weekend (Jan 6th), it was not very busy and it took them a long time to bring the food out. There were moments where we were hungry at the table because nothing new was coming out of the kitchen. Halfway through the meal, a waiter had come asked for the type of meat that we were waiting for, 10 minutes later, while nothing had come out yet, another waiter came by asking the same question. We finally got "some" of the food that we wanted 15 minutes later.
In our previous visits, one can be overwhelmed by the turns of food servers by leaving the card on 'green'. This is not the case anymore in our recent visit and it is embarrassing for customers to have to wait for food in this environment and the price premium. We could have spent the money at Taste of Texas for better service.
We've been here many times over the years and this was our first bad experience. The food was still good, but the service was not up to the standards we have come to expect. Slow to bring the choices of meat to the table and at times it felt that the servers just flat out forgot our table existed. Made for a long meal when your sitting there with an empty plate for long periods of time. Not a deal breaker but definitely not the Fogo de Chao experience you've come to expect for what you pay.
It was a very bad experience. The meat that was brought out all night was extremely burnt. I ended up staying for 20 minutes and paying $180. I complained to the front desk manager on my way out and she asked me to call their customer service. I will honestly stay away from this restaurant as this is just a high end fast food restaurant with no quality control in place.
My youngest son and I went here to celebrate his Birthday. He had never been and jumped at the opportunity to go. I have been here many times before and was delighted again. You have to watch yourself at the salad bar as you can easily overindulge and fill up before enjoying any of the wonderful fresh grilled meat they have! Basically once you turn your chip to green, get ready to be served some really great grilled meats of all types.
I had not been here in over 2 years and was so excited to introduce my friends to it. We were at chauma gaucha in san antonio ans were beyond pleased. Salad bar is highly recommended. Salmon was amazing!!! Meat was very dry (even after requesting the medium cooked.) Unfortunately, it was not what we bragged to our friends about. Will not ve returning.
Went for Thanksgiving Dinner. While the regular food choices were superb as usual, Thanksgiving items were less than impressive. Several years ago, we attended and the restaurant had set up a carving station which was nice. This year, they placed pre-sliced turkey in a banquet server. Turkey was dry and broken into 1 inch pieces. So, nothing special at their attempt at Thansgiving.
Great place to meet friends and family for dinner. The meats are always perfectly prepared and the side dishes are delicious and authentic. Very good wine list and excellent service. The salad and vegetable bar is outstanding, but I usually skip it and start eating the meats!
