Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse – Denver Ratings and Reviews
I used to love this restaurant but not after Sunday, 1/28/2018 experience. Restaurant opens at 11:30 on Sundays, our reservation was 12 pm. We arrived early at 11:40, someone was wet mopping the bar floor, the bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned yet from Sat. night crowd & were a mess with paper towels all over the floor, stalls, counter etc. Apparently no night cleaning crew. The market table was fine, but the several of the meats were unchewable. Filet mignon had so much gristle it couldn’t be cut by the dull knife we had. Bad piece of meat, dull knife or not. This has never been our experience at this restaurant before. I took my daughter for her first experience at a Churascaria & I doubt if she’ll ever go back. Very disappointing.
Our first Brazilian steakhouse and it was a blast. Way too many meats and the market table was loaded with a lot of good food. Once or twice we had to ask for a certain meat we hadn't seen in a while and they brought it out immediately. Staff were all incredibly friendly as well. One of our best dining experiences.
We went to Fogo , for the first time, to celebrate my son's birthday . The service is the best that I've ever experienced in a restaurant. We had several waiters who catered to us and made us feel like we were the only ones there. Truly great and unique customer service. The salad bar is fresh and interesting. The waiters come by often with fresh beef, lamb, and chicken served to your taste. Just a very satisfying experience. Can't wait to go back.
Great service. Have been to 4 different Fogo de Chao’s and this ones service was the best. They would continuously ask for any requests and grant them for us. Only downside is they don’t have parking, but after a few turns, we’re able to find street parking nearby.
We eat here every time we come to Denver from Texas, which is about 3 times a year. This was our NYE dinner with all our kids. We were seated quickly with our reservation. For it being NUE I thought it would be busier but when we got there it was 9:30, quiet and steady. For the price we paid for NYE I wish service was better. We had to ask for everything. We had to ask for refills every single time, for sides, for certain cuts of meat and it got to where they even forgot we asked for pineapple. Our meal was $350. They were polite and courteous when we did ask for it, but we had to stop them. Our table was full from plates that needed to be cleaned off. I even forgot we were getting sides until we asked for them. I’m sure we will still come back because our kids love it but for the price we paid it would have been easier and quicker if I just refilled our food and drinks ourselves. It was not that busy but there was a steady flow of people coming it.
Staff was very pleasant, meat quality was amazing, sides were so so, military discount was $5 on a $130 bill. Similar restaurant in the springs that's literally less than half the cost with better food bar. Made for a decent New Year's eve dinner, but would never go back at that price point.
I asked for a Grand Marnier after dinner drink. They bring it and I drink it. I find when bill comes that I was charged 49.00 for a 1880 Grand Marnier which I DID NOT ORDER! I had finished the drink it tasted just like my normal grand marnier. It was news years eve and busy I did not want to make a scene. This place bsicly ripped me off by substituting the drink or did they it tasted just the same I know i drink grand marnier all the time after dinner. I feel i was scammed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!! They have some problems for sure!
The service was not as good as it has been in the past, which was very disappointing because we brought our friends to Fogo, talking it up compared to Texas de Brazil. Meats took forever to come to our table the entire night, although the meat servers were extremely friendly and polite (maybe they were short staffed? We only saw three of the same guys running around serving meats). Our waitress was friendly but took forever to serve us the side dishes, and pick up our salad bar plates. I ended up just using the same plate for the meats. Just overall not as great of an experience as we have had in the past.
The bartender was not nice at all. Very short, and never made eye contact. She just kept cleaning and doing her own thing. One other waiter, serving meat was also rude, but the rest of the staff were exceptional. All in all, a good time with our party and the food was excellent. Really nice place.
Sadly this experience may be our last. It was our friends Birthday and wanted it to be nice. Unfortunately the waitress was not attentive. 20 minutes just to get a drink. 10 minutes to get a clean plate/fork. The potatoes/plantanes came right before the meal ended. Lastly, the “meat guys” rarely came to our table. We had to hunt/waive our green cards and beg them to bring us meat! In a nutshell... staff was bad!
As always "Fogo" did not disappoint. The market bar selection was abundant and fresh (enough for a meal on its own), the butternut squash soup delicious, and the meat was plentiful and tasty. Service was attentive and the "gauchos" willing to deliver any desired cut of meat on request. At our recent meal the filets were especially tender and tasty and the top sirloin flavorful and tender. The surprise of the meal was, we all agreed, the creamiest vanilla ice cream any of us ever had. Brava Fogo de Chao.
We went for Christmas dinner. Our first time. It was absolutely wonderful. I honestly cannot think of one thing that was not great. We had the signature cocktails and the were delish. Not too strong, but the bartenders were not being stingy either. The food was so delicious, I had a piece of filet that had to have been one of the best I have ever had, Medium rare, nicely seared on the outside and melt in your mouth tender. And the service was a delight. I wish I could have eaten more.
Was not impressed with the holiday dining experience. We went on Christmas day since this year it was just my husband and me. At first the gauchos kept skipping our table while my card had been green for about 10 minutes. We were placed between two larger parties and they seemed to go to them and forget our table. My husband asked a waiter about this and they started to serve us. When they did come they didn't offer much beef, mostly sausage, chicken or lamb. We had to request several cuts of steak. On top of that, we were incorrectly charged for drinks we didn't order. We noticed and they changed it for us. When you go to a place like this you expect better service but it was not what we hoped for and will probably not go back. Kudos to them for being open on Christmas though.
My wife and I weren't too impressed. Im not sure if the day before Christmas Eve had anything to do with it, but service was not stellar. We walked into the entrance and waited for almost 5 minutes for the host/hostess to seat us - not because of the crowd (there was no wait), but because no one was manning the front. The bartender upfront saw us several times and didn't say anything or attempt to find the host. After being seated our waitress was very impersonal and unfriendly, almost as if we were bothering them.
The food was great and our new waiter was fine, but overall I'm not impressed with this Brazilian Steakhouse. I hope others have had a better experience with the staff than we did.
