Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse – Dallas Ratings and Reviews
The only major problem we had was that the thermostat was set at a low level and the four of us froze during most of our otherwise acceptable dinner. WE almost left.
Telling the management did not help much. Our reservation was at 6:30 so there were not yet that many people. I suppose that they set the thermostat so that the temperature is fair when the restaurant is full. But with a little bit of common sense they could adjust as needed.
Had a reservation but still had to wait 20 min to be seated. The people bringing the meat around were fantastic. Had to track down a waiter for water refills several times. Food was very good. In their defense, they seemed very busy but they should work on managing it better.
My daughter (9) selected Fogo de Chao for her birthday dinner. The service was outstanding, very attentive. My daughter was a serious carnivore that night, availing herself of ALL the offerings, multiple times. One server in particular made a joke of it with her - coming by the table even while she was in the middle of dessert. The manager also stopped by several times to chat with the girls, see if there was anything they wanted, and was a real pleasure to talk to.
They advertised he bonein ribeye but unless you ask why it never comes out, they won't bring it out. I never saw the ribs they have on the menu, and filet never was brought around either. Considering that his is more expensive than every other Brazilian steakhouse I've ever been to I expected it to be better in all respects. Go to Texas de Vrazil or Rafain and the filet is right in your face.
Also I really didn't like that the server self-populated his gratuities and then stood over me while I paid the bill. Nothing like spending the customers money for them and making them feel and look uncomfortable... the food was very good, but that's not the point. there are better places where I don't have to feel this way. Live up to your billing or reduce the price. No thanks.
With what you charge per drink, buy the 100 Proof not 70 Proof versions of spirits. I checked again and noticed the lower quality compared to other area restaurants, many of whom charge less for call brands. I even spoke to a manager who told me their corporate HQ tells them what Proof they are allowed to buy of each spirit -- not sure I believed his explanation.
I have been several times before and something has changed? Meat men were too few and only brought cheap meats - chicken, sausage, pork, sirloin. Service took 1.5 hours had to wait 10 minutes for meats to come around. Wait staff was good and they had too many for the number of tables. Hopefully they fix this or probably will not be open for lunch long! This probably why they are sending out so many coupons!
We've been to this Fogo dozens of times and this was the first time we've had a server that did not know how to take a drink order. We've frequently marveled at how fast the bar is even during heavy periods of time, but this dinner was a Tuesday (not busy) evening and it really ruined the first part of the meal that the female server didn't know the difference between a dry and dirty martini and problems with another drink as well. We went back & forth with her - wrong drinks served and patience wearing a little thin (although trying to be understanding & I felt sorry for her!). The "guys" in charge walked around a lot and talked to other tables, but not ours - never approached us. Never had this happen at any Fogo before - yes, we are spoiled, but good grief, a bill of $500 for 5 people is still steep! Will try the new McKinney street location next time. Somewhat disappointing although the food was great as usual! I just hate to spend time away from family visiting from France looking for the server to get the order right.
We have been here many times but it seems this last visit wasn't ss good as the others. Maybe it was just a bad night. We also went at 630pm instead of later so there wasn't much food coming around. Overall it was still good, just not as good as in the past.
I can’t get enough of this place! The level of service is amazing and the food is out of this world. The salad bar is very fresh with this delicious brown sugar/pepper bacon. The Brazilian limeade is so good and has unlimited refills. Now on to the meats... pork lamb chicken and beef all cooked and seasoned to perfection. There is no reason why you wouldn’t be happy with your dining experience here!
The addition of the lamb selections was terrific. Garlic beef is still my favorite but, the lamb chops were very good. I have been dining at the Addison location since it opened, and have never had a bad meal or time there. It is difficult to find someplace that the service and the food are tremendous every time. You guys do that a Fogo in Addison. Awesome job!
The food was great... the only downfall was the service... we waited like 15-20 minutes before someone would come and ask how we were on drinks... the meats took longer than that to get to our table... then we had the discount codes for our table and the way the guy put it on our receipt was confusing.... so instead of explaining it he started to raise his voice and borderline yelling at us, saying if I do that you eat for free and we have a buisness to run... I was celebrating my birthday, and he also threw in you already had a complementary desert... they need better customer service skills.... needless to say we will not be returning... ruined my night...
Birthday celebration and they did not follow any of my notes on my reservation nor did they make the evening special. In fact. Not the right table, then they wanted to say that we have your table ready when they were seating us at another table. They shoved the flowers that i had delivered on the table without any congratulations of elegant touch. They then proceeded to offer a free dessert for the birthday, knowing that that was expected. We have been coming to This Fogo de Chao for 12 years and it is not the same...sad. i will be looking for other options.
We took our seven-year-old daughter there for the first time expecting a huge fight and major upset.
Little did we know we had a little carnivore on our hands which turned out wonderful.
The waitresses were wonderful the food was excellent we will definitely be back
Excellent food and dining experience. Typically I would've considered Fogo de Chao to be a group only proposition. Due to business, I found myself staying in a hotel close to this location and thought why not? I went online making a reservation for one. Upon my arrival I was treated as though I were a group of ten. The food was excellent and of course, kept coming. I would eat here again whether alone or in a group. Just book online.
The service overall was great! We didn't have to ask twice about anything. The food was decent, I will admit that some of the cuts they gave me were burnt on the outside and it was uncomfortable to eat because all I could taste was the burnt part of it. Overall some of the pieces I did get were perfect, like the beef ribs! Those were amazing! The salsa they gave us was very good as well.
Occasion: We came here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner.
Food: Incredibly underwhelming and extremely overpriced. Every single cut of meat we tried was extremely chewy, salty, or flavorless and generally tastes all too similar. I was expecting quality meat at $50/person but couldn't stomach much of the food since half the selection was either bacon wrapped or parmesan crusted. The salad bar was extremely underwhelming too; nothing special or out of the ordinary. Plain potato salad, fruit that was not fresh, butter lettuce that was wilted around the edges. We also ordered cocktails ($12-$15) that were so watered down, I could not taste the alcohol at all.
Ambience: Not as classy as I thought it would be. People dressed in casual T-shirts and shorts, rambunctious adults shouting and screaming loudly across the restaurant. Nothing romantic or special about this place.
Service: The service started out wonderful, the waiter was very kind and re-seated us closer to the window and away from the crowds. Unfortunately, toward the end of the meal, we were just quickly handed the check with no follow up on how our meal was, or any mention of a birthday wish, considering that is something I emphasized on my table reservation. I was hoping, from seeing all the complementary, sweet birthday gestures that Fogo de Chao did on Yelp for other customers, that my boyfriend was at least be treated the same for his birthday. ..I guess not.
We left the restaurant hungry and thoroughly disappointed.
Overall, very upsetting and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
