Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse – Dallas Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant called to cancel my reservation the Saturday before Christmas at 830pm and did not provide any accommodations at other location and did not attempt to offer anything for my inconvenience. Getting a reservation for Christmas Day is almost impossible, so it left me and my family trying to scramble to find a restaurant for Christmas dinner. Because the customer service was awful, I will never eat there again and will make sure I post on every social media site about the experience.
Extremely disappointed by the drama that was supposed to be my family’s Christmas lunch. I understand that the restaurant had a fire on Saturday. And I am glad and thank God everybody got out safely. That is most important. However, no one called me to tell me reservations were cancelled. I never got a message even through Open Table. That would have been the easiest way to get a message to customers. After all that is how we made reservations. Needless to say, I did not find out that I had no reservation until I called to tell the restaurant that I was running 10 minutes late. The girl I talked to put me on hold for 10 minutes before a manager came on the phone to tell me. He was quick to tell me he’s glad he got his employees out safely (which I concurred) however he was not apologetic that my family had no Christmas lunch. He did offer to come to the Uptown restaurant but they could not guarantee a table. We had children with us so we had to find other options. Not very impressed Fogo’s customer service and will likely not be returning.
I made a reservation for my proposal dinner on the day before Christmas eve and got a call an hr before the dinner that my reservation was cancelled because of a maintenance issue and I was simply told I can call the Downtown Dallas location which was also booked completely. I know accidents happen but it would have been nice if there was some compensation offered for the huge inconvenience.
Meat was cold, old, dry, and, too salty, really didn’t like it, seems like I was eating “leftover meat”....
For who really knows Fogo de Chão, I was Very but very disappointed and I do not recommend.
I like good food and I do not mind paying more for It, but was a bad experience in my opinion is too expensive.... it's not worth the price at all...
The food is always wonderful and the service was amazing as well! We've been to this location so many times and only once had an "ok" experience. I talked to Tony, the manager, and I don't think I've ever been so impressed with anyone in the hospitality industry. I travel for business and have led sales teams of several hundred. My expectations are high and I can assure you, Tony's are as well. He also has a personal connection with his staff and the customers. The meat and all the salads were so fantastic and the drinks were efficiently served by smiling staff. Such a nice experience. I highly recommend this Fogo not only for special occasions, but also for mid-week dining. Love this place!
Great restaurant to celebrate a Bday lunch! My motherinlaw had an amazing time and everyone that attended from the family had a great time. Service was impeccable and the food was so fresh. Kids are definintely welcome and there was a table behind us and the kids were very rowdy but then again, it was during lunch time and we were trying to be mindful of that. Other than that, everything else was excellent. Will return in the near future.
We came here for Thanksgiving dinner for the second year in a row. We were seated earlier than our reservation. Service was great. Food was great. Only issue was that we ordered our meats medium well (no pink) and many of them were still bloody. Other issue was there was too much congestion at the salad bar and it was hard to move around.
The only major problem we had was that the thermostat was set at a low level and the four of us froze during most of our otherwise acceptable dinner. WE almost left.
Telling the management did not help much. Our reservation was at 6:30 so there were not yet that many people. I suppose that they set the thermostat so that the temperature is fair when the restaurant is full. But with a little bit of common sense they could adjust as needed.
Had a reservation but still had to wait 20 min to be seated. The people bringing the meat around were fantastic. Had to track down a waiter for water refills several times. Food was very good. In their defense, they seemed very busy but they should work on managing it better.
My daughter (9) selected Fogo de Chao for her birthday dinner. The service was outstanding, very attentive. My daughter was a serious carnivore that night, availing herself of ALL the offerings, multiple times. One server in particular made a joke of it with her - coming by the table even while she was in the middle of dessert. The manager also stopped by several times to chat with the girls, see if there was anything they wanted, and was a real pleasure to talk to.
They advertised he bonein ribeye but unless you ask why it never comes out, they won't bring it out. I never saw the ribs they have on the menu, and filet never was brought around either. Considering that his is more expensive than every other Brazilian steakhouse I've ever been to I expected it to be better in all respects. Go to Texas de Vrazil or Rafain and the filet is right in your face.
Also I really didn't like that the server self-populated his gratuities and then stood over me while I paid the bill. Nothing like spending the customers money for them and making them feel and look uncomfortable... the food was very good, but that's not the point. there are better places where I don't have to feel this way. Live up to your billing or reduce the price. No thanks.
With what you charge per drink, buy the 100 Proof not 70 Proof versions of spirits. I checked again and noticed the lower quality compared to other area restaurants, many of whom charge less for call brands. I even spoke to a manager who told me their corporate HQ tells them what Proof they are allowed to buy of each spirit -- not sure I believed his explanation.
I have been several times before and something has changed? Meat men were too few and only brought cheap meats - chicken, sausage, pork, sirloin. Service took 1.5 hours had to wait 10 minutes for meats to come around. Wait staff was good and they had too many for the number of tables. Hopefully they fix this or probably will not be open for lunch long! This probably why they are sending out so many coupons!
