Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Fogo de Chao several times and this was the only time that I had a poor experience. I had to wait a while to be seated with a reservation. The meat was pretty cold and rarely came. I had to specifically request every single piece of meat because they kept the better options in the back. I had to flag the servers down to refill my water about 4 times. They took a very long time to refill the dinner rolls. The potatoes and banana were cold. I had to request them to refill three items at the salad table including the bacon, salad, and smoked salmon. The waiter got my bill wrong 3 times before finally figuring out how to fix it. I am very disappointed in this experience and do not plan to return.
This is my favorite downtown restaurant. This is a great place for vegetarians. Sometimes we'll get just the salad bar because of it's great selections. The Servers are always polite and attentive, especially our Server-Johnetta. She was very professional, warm and extremely gracious. We told her we hope to see her on our next visit.
I love this place! The service is always on point! Amazing salad bar and meat selection! Hands down it's my favorite place for lunch and dinner! If you don't know what you like for dinner , come here there is literally everything! I do highly recommend!
This was the worst Brazilian restaurant experience I've ever had. I requested medium (not even well done) and the meat was harder than rocks, not to mention the portion size was pathetic and nothing bigger than the size of my finger. We requested bread and it literally took them until the end of my dinner to bring it to us. It wasn't busy it was a random weekday night and the service was so slow. It took more than 25 minutes to apply the codes to the bill and get the bill back. Wasn't worth the $15 discount and definitely not coming back. Was just flat out pathetic.
The table behind us had four children who alternated between running around nearby tables or screaming at the top of their lungs. The parents were oblivious to the issue and management chose to ignore the pleas of the other customers and remained silent. I will never go back.
Children are children. I can't blame them for how they acted, but it ruined the dining experience for quite a few people tonight. No one from the restaurant came to our table to apologize.
This was my daughter’s 18th Birthday & she was hell bent on having her dinner here, every since her first experience. Everything was great, but for some odd reason they were missing our table with the meat, we had to request they come to us. It was crowded, so it wasn’t a big issue. She really enjoyed her dinner there, thank you all again.
Server was great and always asking if we needed anything. Meats came out very slow. Frustrating to wait 10 minutes to get meats . Had to keep asking. Been here several times, totally off there game the night we were there.
Both of us got sick , something didn't agree with us . Bathroom was not the cleanist.4 pm reservation
Went there for sweetest day as it's one of our favorite dining spots in Chicago. I was originally apprehensive about it being too busy and we were worried that the service would be lacking its usual quality. Once again Fogo came through. Even with a crowded restaurant we were treated as if we were there on a slow Tuesday evening. We started with the salad bar which never seems to fail. The meats were cooked just as tenderly and perfect as our past experiences. We each had a caipirinha to drink before we switched to wine. I highly suggest just trying one to experience the full experience.
Our servers were quite attentive and even made sure that the river came out after I mentioned it was my favorite. Outstanding as always!
Fogo as many times as I have been here you have never disappointed
We enjoy going to fogo de Chao but this time it fell significantly short of great customer service. We had to continually ask for meats and getting our waiters attention was a mission on its own. Towards the end we ended up waiting 20 min for our meats. Before we leave we went to the bathroom & to our surprise we overheard the bartenders talking about being out of a higher brand of liquor and they said just use the cheaper one and to not inform the customer since “they won’t know the difference” we were appalled at the fact that we have ordered drinks in the past and feel robbed of our money, trust & time coming to this restaurant location. I do not think we will ever come back due to the horrible experience we had.
What an amazing dinner tonight. We were celebrating two birthdays in our family and Fogo was a perfect place. The service was outstanding and food delicious. One family member does not eat meat and she enjoyed the salad bar which included vegetarian butternut squash soup as well as Sea Bass as her entree. They brought two complimentary desserts for the birthdays. We left stuffed and satisfied.
Service was horrible! Very very slow took at least 40min to get my 1st piece of meat brought to my table. Out of the 1.5hrs I was there I only got 4 different kinds of meat and 1 was good. I would say if you want a good meal go to Texas Di Brazil! This place dont even come close to the service you will get there! Not worth $135 for one date
First time here--I was really excited for this new concept and it was outstanding. Very interesting how everything works but wonderful. The salad bar section has a wide range of options which were the perfect sides for the wide selection of meats. I can't wait to come back!
Overrated and over-priced!! Should have went to wildfire. Also, the ambiance in Rosemont is 10 times better than the downtown location. NOT AT ALL WORTH $54.99 PER PERSON!! A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!! I had to ask the servers several times to send the guys with food (meat) to my table even though my families token was set to green, which I though meant more.
We were in Chicago and wanted our friends to experience Fogo. We have always enjoyed dining there. We had reservations but were still seated in a back area, separate from the main dining room. We were very disappointed with the service. Nearly half the meat selections were never offered to us even after we requested them. Clean plates and fresh side dishes weren’t offered. The meat service came so infrequently that the two men never turned their discs to red.
The servers started clearing our table even before we were finished and while two of the discs were still green.
From start to finish, this was a wonderful experience--even better than previous visits. The meats were delicious, especially the lamb steak and the lamb chops. I had told the restaurant when I made the reservation that it was a birthday celebration. They brought a slice of cake with a candle without my mentioning it. The servers were uniformly helpful, pleasant (sometimes humorous), and unobtrusive. We had a wonderful time.
I'm a frequent Brazilian steakhouse diner and was excited to have lunch at Fogo de Chao. When asked how I live my meat prepared, I stated medium each time and each time I was given VERY rare meat. One slice of the picanha was basically blue on the inside. My husband got up to get me a new plate three times because they were leaving the whole plate bloody.
I asked for a new bowl of the cheese bread and the server completely forgot about it. He came back 15 minutes later asking if there was anything we needed and I just asked for the cheese bread again and all he said was he forgot about it and will bring it as soon as he could.
This was a VERY disappointing experience and I will not be visiting anytime soon.
