Food and wine both wonderful and the service was better. Definitely a unique, great way to celebrate a special occasion. Go light on your first trip to the market bar so you can enjoy the main event.
It was great except they were slow with meat
the meat is too salty
Ehh food is usually pretty good but look for off times to go. Initially the gauchos come fast and furious with lots of variety. Except it would be great to get more rarer options.
Then, as if on cue, they ignore the table like a leper colony. A manager type comes by and asks if there's a cut you want and if lucky someone comes by with it eventually. I think the slow done is their way of telling you in a subtle way that you're done - whether you are or not. They kind of bore you out. I'm sure flipping the table for another seating plays into it heavily.
Not to say I wouldn't go back but I think the customer who's paying a premium price should decide if they are done not the restraunt.
Food and service was as expected. Good place to go while in Chicago.
My guests enjoyed the dinning experience and food variety. Food quality was excellent and service from waiters and gauchos was excellent! A great dining experience!
I had a group visiting from Central America of 10 people. The meal turned out to be excellent as always but the service turned out to be outstanding that evening. Our group was drinking red wine and our waiter was quick to direct me to a very good value Malbec that everyone enjoyed but it didn’t kill the budget. Very much appreciated his direction and the overall service was tremendous!
I wish the meat servers were a bit more attentive and that the party room doors were closed
This restaurant never fails me. We were seated right away with reservations. This is my favorite steakhouse in Chicago!!!
The buffet selection is great they have fresh veggies , fresh fruit, salad dressing, the service for the restaurant week was subpar the meat selection was not of my liking
Excellent food and even better service, we had a great time.
Amazing experience & very attentive staff
Went with my fellow mba students. We had a ball.
Great meal and great fun for our family of four. Salad bar has many good things, and a few new ones since last time we visited -- one of us opted for just the market table offerings. Staff was very friendly and attentive at just the right level. We wound up with the usual "meat concussion" and enjoyed all the different cuts of beef and other meat selections and the sides (especially cheesy bread) are favorites.
Certainly not an inexpensive proposition but great to do every once in a while. Would recommend it highly. Have visited many locations of this chain, and this Chicago one is among the best.
Very pleasant experience introducing a new friend to Fogo de Chao!
Love this place for either lunch or dinner but make sure to be hungry. I've been to Fogo multiple times and seems this time they were lacking some of the premium cuts.
Would not recommend this location at all! Granted we had a reservation for prime dinner-time, however, the location of the table that we were given was in a cramped area and getting service from the wait-staff was slow and sparse, at best. For a restaurant where the customer indicates readiness for service with a coaster (green side up means yes and red side means no) we has to wave at the servers to get their attention. Often they would pass our table on their way to tables around us.
The original server seated us, told us all wait staff work as a team, took our drink order and then disappeared. We sat for a long time before a different server came by with our drink orders. Getting the carved meats was another lengthy adventure. VERY disappointing. We had dined at a different Fogo de Chao location in Chicago previously, but the service at this location was NOT up to par to say the least!!!
Overbooked. Waited 40 minutes past the reservation time.
Food good as expected but the meats little on the salty side great salad bar except some of the dishes salty like the jalapeño mix very salty
Our server nice personality but very slow
Came here for a birthday as a group of 8 and it was survival of the fittest, packed to the brim for maximum profit to the point where the server could barely reach our table. While the food was delicious, the few meat servers we saw were the only decent service but we didn’t even get to try everything because we were forgotten about all night. Horribly loud atmosphere, save yourself the stress and need to to hunt your own dinner and just go somewhere else.
The servers constantly walked past us. I didn’t like the fact that if I wanted some meat we had to call the servers. It’s like we didn’t even have the green card up.
This was my second time at Fogo de Chao. While it was a Friday night, service was just slow. The meat servers were not coming to all tables and the variety didn’t just seem that great this evening. We were passed up by the meat servers multiple times even though we had our cards facing up. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to try all cuts of meat even though we were there for 1.5 hours, we were skipped multiple times- it might have been where we were seated. Our actual waiters were really courteous and helpful, I think we might have just come on an off night.
The carrot ginger soup was terrible and when we addressed it with the manager he argued with us. The wait staff was not pleasant. On e of the worst experience from all of my experiences at your restaurant.
The meats are cooked to perfection and the salad bar is fresh and loaded with a variety of vegetables, cheeses and meats.
It was an outstanding dining experience. The different meat options were all perfectly prepared, and the service was just right - not overbearing, but there when desired. The atmosphere was great for conversation. And we did not have to wait at all to get to our table. Loved it!
Wonderful meal and service!
I cannot express in words the experience I had! This is definitely the best place in the US to get stake. The quality of costumer service and food is outstanding and I had never had a better experience such as the Churrasco one :)
It's not the first time that we use open table to book the restaurants and not first time to go to this one in Saturday night ,but this time we re seriously disappointed for lots of factors first of all that open table shows that it starts by $30 to $50 , restaurant raised the price to $57/person
Restaurant completely replaced their warm lights to a very white lights which made it like a regular dining place , you feel like exposed , and added a cheap bar area by the entrance which downgraded their value
We understand that prices are going up everywhere but this restaurant took it to different place , they mainly serve pork , absurd that they cooked it with different ways but mainly pork , the server conservatively approaches each table to serve real beef meat , and we had to verbally ask to serve lamb rips , they serve it upon asking and if you forgot that's even better
The restaurant must have dress code or business casual, I understand everyone is free to wear whatever but there's business meetings and people looking for classy place to eat , there were gold thick necklaces, shorts , Jordan sneakers and it made us feel we re at very cheap dining place
It doesn't worth the money plus it was such an embarrassment to invite our coworkers to this place
First time there with my boyfriend, I will definitely be back for dinner another day!
It would be nicer if they had a better beer selection.
Made a reservation at 7 pm and arrived there at 7:10. Was handed a pager to wait for my time since it was extremely packed. I understood and waited. I waited until 7:50 pm and decided to go and ask the hostess. She went ahead and checked and asked the other lady seating people. The other lady saw and noticed that she had skipped us. The hostess even told her “you skipped them”. The lady was kind enough to apologize but it was very inconvenient. After being seated our waitress who was supposed to take care of us was not attentive at all and another waitress took initiative to keep an eye out for our table and drinks. And multiple times during our dinner different “people who were handing out meat” asked what type of meat I was waiting for since I was waiting for certain one and they asked multiple times to bring it over to our table. The meat never showed up. Overall the food was great but our service was horrible. I will not be visiting this restaurant again.
We had to repeatedly ask for certain meats over and over...my drink ($14.50) was TERRIBLE
EVERYTHING else was fantastic!
The food was delicious. The staff were extremely accommodating. We had a specific dietary concern and they were so nice about it and made sure the chef and servers knew what we asked for. 10/10
I've been to Fogo de Chao in Aruba a few times and expected the Chicago location to have similar selection, service and energy...perhaps that was my mistake. It was fine but I wouldn't go back.
Food and service was impeccable. Love catching dinner here.
Good food great service, but the updated decor and lighting has ruined the ambience.
Outstanding service and quality meal.
Our business party enjoy the evening a lot.
It was a overall an excellent experience. The one thing I wish we were given is a list of the available meat choices, once we were seated at the table. It made it difficult to choose wisely :-)
Wonderful service and food! We appreciated the comped birthday dessert. Thank you, Quito!
