Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
I came in for their military week 40% dinner and 25% off lunch. I told the hostess and the server before I ordered. I went to lunch alone today (I work down the street) just for the discount. At the end of my meal, they refused to honor it and just gave me 10% off instead. Geez - thanks for the bait and switch and the FU to veterans.
After visiting several times this place, we had a very disappointed experience with the service..
We waited many long intervals of time between food brought to our table.
No refills were offered unless requested many times.. plus a very uncomfortable table for 8 people... 3 people couldn't leave or move the table without discomforting the entire table and the two tables next to us.
Keep in mind this was a Monday night at 6pm so they were not busy at all. Ask 3 times for sauce from 3 different waiters and watched all 3 forget and just stand around until Mario came to the rescue! He was amazing and very attentive. I would have given service a 1 star if it wasn’t for Mario! Thanks Mario!
Came here for the first time for a surprise birthday brunch I was throwing for my husband. The team at the Beverly Hills location went above and beyond to accommodate my party of 15. From lying to my husband by saying they have our table of 2 ready, to keeping the meat coming, the service was superb. Not to mention, the brunch is a great deal!
We hosted our staff Christmas party here this year. It was a great choice! Everyone ordered/ate whatever they wanted and as much as they wanted. The interactivity of getting up and people choosing different items created a more enjoyable experience than we have at tradition table service restaurants in the past. Plus, there were a number of other groups there celebrating so it was a fun atmosphere. The food was really delicious and abundant, and the servers were very accommodating and paid good attention to us. A bit pricey for some, but worth it!
Really disappointing experience at this location.
Service was very subpar. Drinks (water) took over 10 minutes to arrive. Cheese balls did not arrive until we were halfway done eating.
Felt like waitress was almost intentionally skipping our table when we were trying to flag her down.
If you must dine with Fogo, i would recommend the downtown LA location over this place. If you must have Brazilian BBQ, i would recommend M Grill in K-Town any day over this place.
Steer clear away
I have been eating at this Fogo de Chao for several years. I even celebrated my 40th birthday there. Having Thanksgiving there however was a major mistake which I will never repeat. First, they obviously overbooked the restaurant. We had 6:30 reservations but were not seated until close to 7:30. When I approached the hostess at 7:15, she told me that we would have to wait another 15-20 minutes. But the thing that really upset me was that when we were seated, the hot bar no longer had Turkey. I asked the guy running the salad bar and he told me that they ran out of Turkey. Keep in mind that this was 7:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving and they charge $62.00 per head. I asked him to send the manager to my table. The manager did not arrive, but a plate full of roast Turkey miraculously did. I am not sure what that meant. Perhaps they were hiding it from the customers? My night was pretty sour. I am taking a long break from this place. Also, the salad bar was a total mess. Kudos to our server Javier, however, who was the only bright spot in the evening.
It feels like they were totally unprepared for the number of diners who visited for Thanksgiving dinner. Those with reservations, like us, still had to wait 15-25 minutes before being seated - so I can't imagine how long the larger parties and those without reservations had to wait.
Beyond that, every single table was so close to the others that it was uncomfortable for some of the patrons and passadores to maneuver between, especially in the banquet room in which we were seated with dozens of rather boisterous people.
The overall ambience was that of a popular, mid-level cruise ship: the buffet lines were stymied by food needing to be refilled; patrons standing in the way while consuming food right next to the station; and a disorganized meat carving area.
On the plus side, the meats were all delicious, the passadores were all friendly and knowledgeable, and the salads from the buffet were fresh and tasty.
I'm sure this place is wonderful and worth the price on evenings when they aren't overloaded, but I really hope that the wait staff learns to communicate with each other and to remember when patrons order things. I'm sure I'd have ordered another drink, had the one I ordered at the start of the meal arrived before the dessert menu.
tl;dr: don't come here on a holiday, unless you love screaming toddlers, drinks that take 45 minutes to arrive, and fellow customers who behave as though they're at a Black Friday sale.
We like the food a lot, but since it was so busy we didn't get our waiter coming to us often and getting to the buffet table and back to my seat was a hassle because there was so many tables for thanksgiving dinner it was uncomfortable worrying if I was going to accidentally knock someone's drink or food down.
I have been to this location many times in the past when my friend Neri was managing the place. It started out with the hostess seating us beside a big table with more than 20 people when the dining room was only half full and we had informed them in advance that we were celebrating our anniversary. We requested for a table change after my wife had to stand up several times when the servers were attending to the big table. We ate our salad and had to wait more than the usual time to be served since everyone was bringing out food over to the, yes, big table. The meats could be better cooked; medium rare tasted well done. The polenta was dry. The only saving grace is the salad bar; but that is not what people come to this restaurant for.
I was looking forward to this visit. The meat was good but the buffet style food can use a lot of improvement. Both flavor and variety. Maybe add some hot app options or a variety of breads. I have seen that at other restaurants of your kind. Did not feel it was worth the money. I would gladly spend $100 per person for dinner and a drink any place if the food is great. But not the case here. Also the room was cold, music was too low and overall not inviting ambiance. The bread served on the table was dry although we asked for a second basket hoping it will be fresher. The manager was very attentive so were the bussboys but the main waiter was cold and disengaged. It was not a busy night. I just expected a lot more from the place. I will not return. Hope my feedback helps your restaurant make other guests happier.
You really can't go wrong with Fogo de Chao. I don't recommend going often, but I do recommend going ;) This place is a huge investment in your stomach as it is ALL YOU CAN EAT. Come hungry and stay as long as you can. Go for a special occasion and get a complimentary dessert :) MUST HAVE THE HOUSE SPECIAL PICANHA, BEEF RIBS, RIB EYE, AND EVERYTHING BEEF. ...pass on the chicken :p
