Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
Our table was in the middle of a large area of tables and it seems like the servers kept going around the edges and skipping the tables in the middle. We had to wait for pretty much everything... I mostly blame DineLA crowds, but the experience left something to be desired. Everything seemed to take a long time (checking in, getting seated, getting served, getting check).
The only thing rivaling the food at this establishment... is the service. Every member of the staff is attentive, personable, and clearly devoted to providing a first-class dining experience. I'm not generally one to place an emphasis on the "experience" (I just love good food!) - but it simply cannot be overlooked here.
The food is mouthwatering (even while reflecting on it days later while writing this review). Of course the endless meats are supposed to be the stars of the show here... and they are mostly delicious. However, SO IS EVERYTHING ELSE.
The fresh bread is interesting and unparalleled. The polenta and mashed potatoes are simple but comforting and scrumptious. The sweet and spicy bacon, the roasted butternut squash, the black bean and beef stew, the tres leches cake... they will all leave their mark on your taste buds and your memory.
We had a wonderful time here and savored myriad flavors worth talking about (and trying to reproduce at home) for years to come. We will most certainly go back and wholeheartedly recommend dining here if you're looking for awesome meal.
Fogo de Chao changes a lot , it use to be the best Churascharias in town , well we have not gone there for a year ....everything went down a notche , ambiance not great ( it use to have beautiful crowd , meat , salad bar ) not any more a very sad salad bar @ 1:15 in the afternoon... what’s a disappointment..... let go back to Mastro
In the past, we have loved this place... however our last 2 times here have not been good at all. Service was really bad... we had to ask multiple times for drink refills. We had to ask multiple times for the meat to come to our table. When the meat did come it was far below the expected standard. The meats were often very dry and tasteless. And in the 2 hours we were there, they only brought around 3 different kinds of meats. Very disappointing.
Not a good experience for us.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and told our waiter who asked if we were celebrating anything.
To be honest, despite it was an all you can eat buffet, we felt that this place is overpriced and not very good.
Every beef steak we tried was well-done(over cooked), tasteless, and very dry.
The chicken meats were more moist and more flavorful but at over $60 per person, you expect the beef to be just as good if not better.
The salad bar was good but at $30 just for salad bar, you expect even better. The salad had vegetables but no seafood and no soup.
The best part of the meal was the tasty fresh baked bread popovers.
At the end of the meal we ordered a cream brûlée which was good but not included and a $12 extra. Nothing was given or offered for the birthday celebration.
We won’t be coming back needless to say.
If you like to gorge yourself, then this is the place for you. The meat is good, and the sides are OK. It's really expensive, so come hungry. Personally, I'd rather just go order a steak so I can pick my cut of meat and not pay so much or feel forced to eat and "get my money's worth." The food is just OK... I'm not a fan of salad bars, so the meat just gets monotonous.
I have dined here a few times before, but on this occasion it was disappointing. The service was slow to non existent. Once I even had to get up to find a waiter. No food would come out for several minutes and then all at once a bunch of waiters would appear with food. The bathroom was not serviced and no towels were available to dry hands.
Server was very slow . We went on lunch time and most of the waiters getting food at the buffet area. Looks very tacky . We miss the old fogo de chao style that elegant and classy. Something change to this restaurant . One of the server doesn't really know how to follow the directions how we want to pay our bill. We have high expectation to this location and it was so sad that we have to see and experience this type of practise.
I’ve enjoyed Fogo in the past but this evening was a little disappointing. The ladies at the front treated guests like herds of cattle. It took away from the class this place used to have.
Something else I noticed was less variety of the meats than I’m used to from Fogo.
I will still go back because I believe it was just a busy night.
The food was great service was kind of slow with the meats had us waiting for a while just eating salad and beans and sides was not cutting it for us when we have been waiting to eat all day. Also made reservation but still had to wait 20 plus mins... I think the soft drinks should be bigger size or refillable.. Overall great food could of been better service.
Went for Christmas dinner and it was a bust! Meat was not seasoned or cooked as desired, service was poor, had to ask several times for basic things like water! Before it was time to leave, I began to get a stomach ache...it was all around a not so pleasant experience and definitely not worth the price!
My family had to wait 25 minutes for a table even though we had reservations.. the front desk ladies were yelling at the top of their voices names for people to be seated. I was trying to get menu information from them and I could not even hear myself think. Never received any great customer service from the front desk.
My waiter, kept forgetting what we ordered. The cost was $63 per person regardless as to how much someone ate. I was expecting a full menu. Never saw any seafood.
$342 wasted...on what I thought would be a great Christmas dinner. I am so disappointed.
Inconsistent service (had 4 waiters with only 1 that was attentive), took way to long to get drinks (over 15 minutes for 1 glass of wine), had to flag down servers for the food with some food never being offered as part of the "experience". I've been to other similar restaurants whose service and food are better for less money. It's way over priced for the offering.
Simply horrible, and I feel bad for all other Brazilian steakhouses because Fogo does such a bad job that I would never ever try one again, except for the fact that EVERY SINGLE other non-Fogo place does a phenomenal job! I had gone to a Fogo like 8 years ago and thought "meh." Visiting this one, a cavernous cattle-barn with chaotic service, over-cooked meats, and a complete lack of Chimichurri (the key table seasoning for this type of cuisine, for which I had to ask FIVE people before receiving a little bowl of what looked like olive oil with a few flakes of herb floating in it) in the whole place. Literally, nobody had it on their table. Go to a good Brazilian place and it is on the table waiting for you.
Do not ever go here. Ever.
Normally this is a great place to go for food for service. This time we went we were severely under service charge things we didn’t order or ask for and when I tried to pay the bill the server forgot I gave her the card and we were waiting for 15 minutes before we had to remind him. He had for completely forgotten that I’ve given him the check and the card. Extremely disappointed for what the place is it what they’re charging.
Waiter made the special dinner a bad experience. Reservation was for 8:30 but they couldn't seat us until 9:30. Once seated we waited and waited and waited before anyone asked if we needed anything. Finally just went to the salad bar to get food since we were hungry. Finished the salad bar plate and still waiting. Finally someone asked if we needed anything. At this point ordered a bottle of wine and waited and waited as the waiter made a few excuses for forgetting twice. Stopped another waiter to ask for a plate. Usually they bring so many skewers by that you can't keep up but on this night they were few and far between. Had to literally flag them down since the green card on the table didn't work. Waited so long trying to eat we actually were there after the kitchen had closed. Waiter earlier asked if I wanted chimichuri sauce and I said yes. 2 plus hours later and still no sauce. Horrible experience. Will probably never give this location another chance.
Restaurant was overwhelmingly busy. Food was just OK. For the amount charged for full meal, it was not very gourmet. Many fruits in the market place were not even peeled and were difficult to eat. The dessert menu was very good. They didn’t even offer coffee. Since there were so many people waiting for a table, they want you to linger with a cup of coffee. Probably won’t go back.
We were celebrating an anniversary and, unfortunately, decided to dine here on a Saturday night, apparently too close to the Christmas holidays. The restaurant was extremely crowded and noisy. We waited more than 30 minutes to be seated with a reservation. The restaurant packed so many tables so close together one had to squeeze by sideways. The noise level was commensurate with the number of tables and customers. The only other time I was here was on a Monday last April. The restaurant was almost empty, quiet with a constant flow of skewered meats. On this occasion, the flow of skewered meats was slow to non-existent. We waited too long for the drinks to arrive. The sides came half way through the meal. This is a wonderful restaurant with good food. Come here when its not a major holiday season.
For those familiar with churrascaria (Brazilian barbecue), this is an above average option.
I recommend that you try the salad bar option for lunch at $15, all you can eat with many items.
If you want to add a meat dish, it is $21. For all you can eat salad and meat, it is $26.
This place has very tight parking and seems to be typically overbooked and a bit chaotic., though upscale. Overall, a great option on restaurant row.
I have been to Fogo de Chao in many cities and have enjoyed the experience very much. This particular case was a bit subpar due to the slow service. After enjoying our meal, my friends and I wanted to order dessert and get the check. It took fifteen minutes to even get a waiter to make eye contact with us. Everyone looked like they were in a hurry to get somewhere urgently. They probably did, but that does not excuse the fact that we had to wait for such an unusually long time for two simple requests. When we finally got someone to talk to us, our desire for dessert had evaporated and we just asked for the check. Hopefully it was an anomaly and the next time we come here the service will be improved!
