Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
Came here with a group (12) on a Saturday night. The beef was all great (ribeye, top sirloin, filet, etc), the chicken and pork chops were fine, side dishes (garlic mashed potatoes, pao de queijo) were good, and dessert (turtle cheesecake and molten lava cake) were great. They were out of chicken hearts that night. Ordering drinks and desserts was a bit cumbersome. After tax and tip, the meat and salad bar was about $70 a person (add more for dessert and drinks).
We were definitely disappointed. The salad bar seemed to be lacking in the area of just wanting to make a simple salad. The meats were on the fatty side, especially the filet mignon, it wasn't even edible. We were there for over and hour and never once was offered any chicken or sausage. The same 3 things kept coming around constantly. I felt for a $150 dinner with tip we left feeling like we did not get our monies worth that is for sure.
My wife and I were in Baltimore on business, but it was also our wedding anniversary. We decided to celebrate at Fogo de Chao, after the place was highly recommended by a friend. The food was amazing, from the unbelievable market table salad bar, to the cheese-infused dinner rolls, to the never-ending selection of meat. I only wish we didn’t eat our fill so quickly, because I wanted to keep trying more! We will definitely go back if we are in town again, and maybe we’ll fast all day to prepare!
Most times I really enjoy it there this past Saturday the salad bar I don't feel was up to par and unfortunately some people don't care about the salad bar and customers made it a mess so I was unhappy about the salad bar and all the times I've been coming there never had problems with service but I had to wait a few times on the meat to come around... hope that gets better
The food was amazing and servers were very attentive and asked which cut we were looking for if we declined. The waiters were not very attentive and it took awhile to order menu items and get the check. I usually have a great experience and will chalk it up to a bad night.
Made reservations via Open Table a month in advance. Noted Special Occasion.
Arrived 10 minutes early.
Was led to a back room with no ambiance at all. I did ask to be moved and was offered a table in front of kitchen door...chose to stay in Siberia.
Lots of wait staff with headsets standing around...no one came over to take drink orders. Asked one person with a headset who said they would get our waiter. 10 minutes later, decided to walk 4 rooms to bar and order bottle of wine and a few cocktails for the table myself. Went over to hostess desk to ask for a tray so I could make one trip (again its a bit of a walk through a busy few rooms). They "offered" to have delivered to our table (so gracious).
Sightings of meat servers were rare back in Siberia and totally ceased about 1 hour after we were seated. Had to ask for a dessert menu- got one for the table (do you not have the budget to print wine lists and menus?) Used the website, flagged someone down and placed a dessert order. 5 minutes later someone else came by and said they had to retake the order...hmm.
Finally met my waiter when she presented the bill! One of our party had done Market Table - and noted to one of the folks with a headset - of course the bill was wrong because I guess we didn't tell our waiter who we never met. That was fixed (everyone else in my party had left by that time).
Great experience. The staff, the menu and the meats for brunch were amazing. I love the Market Table and the experience of all the fresh meats coming to the table. The filet mignon and the sirloin was my favorite. The bacon wrapped chicken and the ribs were second. Will definitely stop back again....thanks for a great time. We were a party of 6. We all left with full stomachs!!!
What a treat.
The food, as always, was terrific. And this time, for the first time, the service didn’t match up. We sat for more than a half hour with the wine list in hand before we were able to wave down a random server to order a bottle. You’d think when you tell your server you’d like to buy a bottle they would be back ASAP to ring it in....
There was also a long while (maybe 15 minutes) at the end of our meal when we had read cards in front of us but no one cleared our plates and asked us to order dessert.
In the end, the dessert was complimentary and that was a nice touch. We’ll be back. Thinking it was a fluke.
Was there to celebrate my birthday with three friends. Two of us arrived and they seated us, at our request with the specified request that we'd order a cocktail while we waited.
The server came over and asked if we were a party of two or four and we indicated 4. He turned and left without asking if there was anything he could get for us while we waited. I attempted to hail him or any other server so we could place a cocktail order.
Shortly thereafter, the other 2 members of our party arrived and were seated. No waiter. The table next to us was seated and the waiter was immediately there but on the far side of the table so we could not get his attention.
Another party was seated and a similar story.
About 10 minutes went by and still no one stopped at our table. Bread was served to both other parties, drinks came out. Nothing to our table.
I basically accosted a gaucho and sternly said "Send someone to our table now!" Waiter after several more minutes finally showed up, no apology and took our drink order.
3 of the 4 drinks arrived correctly one had to be remade as it was served neat rather than on the rocks.
We went to start the salad bar and started to enjoy the meal, only it seemed that the only meats that came by were the less expensive cuts.
We had to ask three or four times for them to send over the lamb chops and the filet, the filet never came.
However, I will say the meats we did have were outstanding.
The mashed potatoes were delicious, however the polenta was cold hard and tasteless. But, one doesn't go to Fogo for the polenta.
I recommend that you go with a group of 6 or less. It was a large group of 18, and very chaotic. The severs reached out to those, they could reach. The cards could not be seen on the table . There werent enough side dishes for my group. There were friends who did not eat red meat. The waiter didnt give the table options of seafood, just begin serving meat. I was very disappointed.
I have been going to Fogo De Chao since it's opening in Baltimore and on this visit I was very disappointed. First we didn't get a variety of meats and had to call someone over for the choices. Secondly, a guest ordered the fish and had to wait almost 45min to and Hour for it to be delivered. Thirdly we were never offered the menu for desert and lastly, while waiting for the desert menu they brought the bill , then came back multiple times to check if I had giving my card for payment. They seemed anxious for us to leave. Not the greatest experience that I have had there, where the service is normally very good.
