Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time at Fogo de Chao. We 'd heard a lot about it and it didn't disappoint! My meat eaters said the various beef selections were outstanding. The salad bar was the best I've ever seen and a meal in itself. The cocktails were a little expensive but very good. The service was exemplary and we were glad they had valet parking. If you want a top notch, high-end culinary experience, this is the place to go. We will definitely return again!
The whole experience is very cool - the food is great and you are stuffed to the point of your stomach hurting in 45 minutes. Some things were better than others obviously, so you may want to consider the menu beforehand so you can save room for the things you most enjoy rather than trying everything on the menu.
Beyond the food, the service really stands out. Everything is done quickly yet very professionally and friendly.
Reservation was made in October for 12 people for 5:00pm. Got there at 4:45 and wasn't seated until 5:30. They kept thanking us for our patience and that it would be "a minute". Once your seated, you tend to forget that though since the food is so good. The waiters/waitresses are on point. We were charged for my 2 year old (that ate a bag of chips we brought from home) but we didn't notice until we already paid (as the bill was over $600). They gave us a gift card to compensate for that mistake.
I had never been to this restaurant but my husband and son love it. First of all, the ambience reminded me of a school cafeteria, with tables extremely close to each other, people and staff meandering through small spaces, lines at the salad bar, and an extreme amount of noise. I was not impressed with the decor and the person who led us to a table - there were 4 of us, took us to a table for 2. I looked at him and asked if we were to take turns sitting and he just looked at me. Bad start. I was not impressed with the salad bar. I don't eat meat and had the Chilean sea bass which was just coated in butter. What a usually fabulous tasting fish was reduced to nothing and I didn't enjoy my meal. I will not be going back. In all fairness, the other 3 guests who are meat eaters enjoyed!
Once again the staff and management has made our visit amazing. We come to fogo more then the average person should. We come and celebrate friends, birthdays, graduation and holidays. It’s amazing but we have been coming since you opened. We are pretty sure the staff knows who we are at this point!! Keep up the great work!
Fogo really missed their mark during my most recent visit. It was New Years Eve so everyone is in good spirits and dressed nicer than usual and ready for a great night. Well, the two girls and one guy up front didn’t seem to be organized and didn’t ask for coats.. we were whisked to our table and two of us took our party’s coats back to the front, while still standing and collecting coats a female sever was asking if we wanted separate checks and who was to be on what check... bear in mind several of us have not even sat down yet. That server(?) was never to be seen again for the whole night. About one half hour before someone took a drink order.. and not the full table because if you recall two of us are returning to hostess stand to return coats (yes, that took just about 15 minutes!) We noticed that the salad bar has been tapered back in quality and presentation.. we also noticed that the guys with the meats did not come around as often as in past visits and there were much less of them on the floor. Two of us had to keep requesting medium rare as most meats were at medium and above. It seemed and was verified by one of the servers that the staff was tired and had been overworked prior to this evening... I’m afraid that we might have decided it’s time to find a new place to dine until this Fogo gets it back together. BTW: I asked no less than 5 various employees to send ANDY (asst mgr) over to see us... Andy never came to the table even though HE ASKED ME to ask for him while I was on the phone with him the evening before!
Sat us by the front and it was cold every time someone walked in . Had to track down a waiter to get things. Over charged us because some of our party ordered just the salad bar. The person who seated us told us he would be back to explain the process and never came back . Asked three different people for steak sauce .
This was my second visit. Unlike my perfect 1st dining experience at the restaurant, this time was a huge letdown. The servers that took care of table needs were awesome but the staff which served the meats were extremely disappointing. For the most part, they would offer to one person in the group and leave, despite everyone waiting to be served. For the most part, we were offered the special or top sirloin. We were finally offered 1 lamb chop at a table of 4. We did eventually ask if someone would bring other meet options. All in all, a very expensive and extremely disappointing dining experience for what we were offered and the lack of attention we received.
Went for New Years. First time going.
Food: was good, would have preferred a menu or something of al the meats servers walked around with.
Service: Took 10-15 minutes to get drinks which is way to long of a time.
Overall: it was fine, but not worth the hype we received about it.
Overall the food was as good as always. Serivce was surprisingly bad. Had to ask for the wine list 3 times. We like to enjoy wine with the steak, huge reason for going to FoGo. Twice we waited a while for a glass of wine while the meat cooled off. In addition, we ordered ice cream for our son, that was also forgotten. Then after realizing the ice cream was coming, we asked for the check. No mention by the server about the forgotten ice cream, or wine list, but he said he would get the check. So after waiting a while longer we had to ask the manager for the check. So some how in one $200 meal, 3 things were forgotten by two different servers. Yes, I understand it is NYE and the place was fairly busy, but come on. We have come there multiple times for the great salad bar and great meats that are accompanied by great service. This time was not the case.
This used to be one of my favorite spots, it has significantly gone down hill. The quality of meats-poor, the salad bar choices are now minimal, the bathroom filthy! Had a drink at the bar while waiting to be seated, also filthy. I felt like I was eating at an overpriced Golden Corral, not the Fogo de Chao I was once accustomed to. Will never go back again.
If you've been to one Fogo you've been to them all. The food was excellent as usual and the service was slightly slow so I couldn't give it five stars. The ambiance was fine and the noise level was loud but not unruly. We brought friends who had never been and they enjoyed it immensely so all around very good.
The food here was very good. Sadly, we likely won’t be back, as the service was quite disappointing for the drinks and bill taking quite a long time.
In addition to taking longer than reasonable, they added $50 on to our bill when running our card, thankfully my fiancé was paying attention. We then waited another 10 minutes after pointing out the mistake. This after witnessing the people on either side of us receive instead of their bill... the other persons credit card. Surprising with what is anticipated at this price.
The food here was excellent, if you are a big eater it may be worth the $50 per person price. The team with meat service was very quick and attentive. Good wine selection- recommend the seeker if you prefer red.
Judging from other reviews I am now seeing, we are not alone in our disappointment. Too bad, we had been looking forward to this place.
This was my son's first experience at Fogo De Chao Brazillian Steakhouse. We were seated right away. Server professional, courteous to both of us and explained the dining set up. Did not tell us about the Seasonal Featutures of hot foods bar. Just explained about cold salad bar. Of course asked for our drink orders. Did not give use a cocktails menu. Only mentioned house wines. Table very neat and clean. We were seated at very small table in the back of dining room. Distracted by several servers at refreshing table to set up tables and getting clean plates. Our server rarely came over to ask if we needed anything. Several other staff were pleasant and did ask about needs or any special request. The bread was cold and hard as ping pong balls. Had to ask for fresh bread. Took 30 mins or more to get it. Family styled sides were served 30 mins after we began eating and it was cold. The polenta, plantain, garlic mashed potatoes. I was so hungry I didn't complain I just ate a few bites to make it a pleasant experience for my son. It was Christmas Eve. I've been here several times for different occasions and even lunch time. With larger groups I have had better service, hot food, and pleasant servers. Really dissappointed for me to come with my son and have sub par service. This however did not take away from the food itself. It took away from the dining experience. I picked this place because of my prior experience with this restaurant.
The restaurant was nice and the food was great! The garlic shrimp is to die for! This was my first time to the restaurant so we wished that one of the waiters would have instructed us on what we do.
We found out about the red and green cards for the meat selections from other guests after sitting at our table for 10 minutes. Other than that my family had a great experience here.
We were disappointed with our latest experience. The salad bar options have decreased in variety and complexity. The meat selections have decreased as well. The bathroom was disgusting and service was poor. We had to ask for the meat selections because they continually passed us, despite having our cards turned to green. Our waitress changed at least three time in the hour we were there and it was hard to find anyone to get the children drinks. We usually come to the restaurant once a year but this will likely be our last time.
