I read a review that this location didn’t seem as good as others- and I’d have to agree. The meat seemed quite a bit drier and not as well seasoned.
Every part from salad, appetizer, drinks food and dessert was phenomenal and delicious. Servers very nice. It did take forever to get our drinks and dessert which was disappointing, like it felt we were forgotten or something but not something to fuss/make a scene about. Other than that, it was delightful.
Slow bar service. Very good meat. No water.
The service was top notch! The food was amazing and very fresh! I’ve been to other locations in other cities and this Austin location has been the best experience by far!
Valentines dinner. Had a great time and fantastic service. Thanks!
The selection was wide from their appetizer/ salad bar to the meat and sides. It was quite overwhelming for people going there on their first time so we appreciated the mechanics being explained to us. Would suggest that servers of the meat have a better knowledge on the meat and have general descriptions to make it easier for people to re-order their favorite cuts. Since it’s pandemic times and the noise level is kind of high would suggest that the servers speak louder and clearer so we can hear them through their mask. Also, it was a little bit chilly inside as well.
Overall it was a great experience with great food! They have great precautionary measures such as gloves and wearing masks. We appreciate our server and cashier person, Otilio, and Alfredo. Will definitely come back again! Thanks for a pleasant Valentine’s dinner. They also gave us complimentary $25 gift card for our next visit as a part of their Valentine’s promo which was a welcome surprise!
Thank you so much for this feedback, Mara! We are thrilled to hear you had an overall great experience at our Austin Fogo. We truly appreciate you taking a moment to let us know about your experience, especially during these times. We hope to serve you again soon - cheers!
The food was pretty good but overall value for the price was low. The service was fine except the wait staff checked up on us almost too much. I also think having the green/red cards would help indicate to the staff that we were not wanting any more meat instead of having to say no thank you 10 times. We also ordered a bottle of white wine that was served room temperature, which was probably the most annoying aspect of the meal. They forgot to offer us the sides until 3/4 of the way through our meal. Other reviews were right in saying the inside of the restaurant is very plain. It is interesting becaues I have memories of going to a Fogo De Chao in Philaedelphia when I was a kid and it was so memorable because of how extravagent the experience felt. Would not recommend wasting your money on this location! Plenty of other better restaurants in Austin.
This is disappointing to know, as we never want to hear that our team members didn't deliver a great, attentive experience. Please don't allow this to keep you from visiting us in the future.
Very difficult to enforce COVID-19 protocols in a place like this, though the Staff did their best with what they could to make it as safe as possible. Most of the cuts of meat fried (about 12 of the 18) were honestly not seasoned enough with salt and pepper making them kinda bland. The Garlic and Parmesan flavored meats were seasoned well. Any of the beef asked for at Medium were done a bit more and dry as if they’d been cut without resting. The cuts asked for Medium Rare were Ok.
Gene, it's disappointing to hear your cuts were bland, as we love to serve you flavorful cuts every time. Thank you for your feedback, we hope you award us a second chance in the future.
Te food always comes fast and furious and never disappoints. The meats are always cooked to perfection. The service was a bit slow this visit- not sure if because it was mid-week or short on staff.
Special birthday dinner. Great ambiance and outstanding service. Food was good -- great salad bar; nice side dishes; "all you can eat" meat. Great variety of "gaucho style" roasted meats. Meat quality was variable (some very tender, some a little chewy, frequently well-done), but always very tasty (great seasonings). Service is so attentive it is almost overwhelming. Made up a nice "birthday dessert" for my diabetic brother. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. I will always return for special occaisions.
service was amazing staff was very friendly and accommodating will definitely come again
Thanks so much for the wonderful review! We appreciate your feedback, especially during these times! So happy you enjoyed your dining experience and felt safe. We can't wait to serve you again!
Everything was going great except for when we were offered espressos, and they were cold.
This is disheartening to hear, as your espresso should never be served cold. We look forward to your next visit, as we know we can do better.
The food was excellent as usual.. We enjoyed our family brunch.. Thanks FOGO
Great food is what we are all about at Fogo de Chão Austin, Magdy! Thank you for your positive rating and feedback.
The food was amazing and the staff was attentive even though they were short staffed. Highly recommend.
It was great!
Amazing! Service was so efficient and the mangers were hands on. I loved it here.
Great food and service.
First off! Your garlic butter steak is the literal BOMB! Y’all have excellent team work and customer service!
The staff forgot about us three times, a female in a red shirt did t find the balsamic for the salad but didn’t come back to confirm, the gentleman ask what we needed we told him and he didn’t come through. The meat was also dry this visit. We asked for specific cuts and no one was on the same route tonight.
If you leave here hungry it’s your own fault. For the endless supply of meat you get, it’s good value for what you pay really. Wine selection is also excellent and recommendations paired well with the meat.
They have added in safety protocols that i felt comfortable with to dine. the food was good as i remembered, service was good and friendly.
Poor service despite lot if staff around
Alfred, we apologize for such an experience, as this should never be the case. We'd love to make this right, so please don't hesitate to award us a second chance.
It's hard to write a bad review, because of the pandemic and the changes these places have to endure. However, when you pay for premium prices, you should still get premium service and food, no matter the situation. The place is slowly looking run down, the bartenders were absolutely inattentive, the salad bar had slim pickings and long line, too awhile to get steaks to pass our table, and Cocktails overpriced for size. *1st review I've ever posted negatively, but deservingly so.
You should always receive premium food and service, so we're disappointed to hear we fell short. We'd love a second chance, so please visit us again.
The staff did the best they could considering it was a holiday and they were one of the few places open. The food was okay. Overall our experience was pretty mediocre. But the server was really nice. He was just doing the best he could.
Atmosphere was fine until someone children starting being really loud and screaming. No one said anything so it ruined my experience. The food was average and overpriced for the bland meats that were served. The service was good and the employees were friendly and helpful.
We're sorry for the disruption during your meal, as our guests should always enjoy their time with us. It is our hope that this doesn't keep you away, so please give us another chance.
The ambiance was excellent. However, the restaurant is overrated very pricey for the quality of service. Also your website should be very clear concerning prices of your meals for dining in.
Christmas day was very nice at Fogo de Chao
The food was good the little bit we got. We were in the corner and often had to flag someone to try things. The market table seemed like you could only get tiny portions. So for the $400 we spent I'll try another spot.
Amazing and extravagant customer service and delicious food and drinks!
Such an amazing place to eat - a total experience. The lamb chops with mint jelly, the parmesan pork, the bacon-wrapped chicken, or the steaks (cooked so many ways!) - which is my favorite? So hard to know. And those yucca cheese puffs and fried bananas!
The service is impeccable and they pay such attention to customers; during these socially-distanced times, they really made us feel like they had thought through the experience and found ways to keep the risks low AND make things feel higher-class than they already were.
Cannot recommend strongly enough!
Christmas dinner
My son’s birthday celebration at Fogo was to say the least “adequate”. I’m granting the fact that during Covid times we are less inclined to be “SOCIAL”. But it just seemed like the staff didn’t really feel like being there. Not all of them, just a few. That was my impression anyway. The waiter who closed us out was the most approachable anyway. He was even kind enough to offer a bone to my son’s dog. That was unexpected.
Could tell they aren’t really used to having small children. Their needs were not met. My 4 yr old grandchild wanted tea, he got some type of flavored water(?)- no sugar offered - no flavor basically. No activity sheet for them — colors work. Even though it is an adult-like ambience, one should still be prepared. They are future customers.
Our Food was indeed quality. Love the food - can’t really say more about that, it’s always substantial and tasty. Enjoyed the food.
After the meal is when things fell apart.
No one brought our bill.
No one around to ask.
Finally, the friendly waiter came and he said “OH, you are waiting for your receipt?” I said no—“the bill”! Hmmm...we’re they uhhh expecting us to walk out? Interesting.
We paid - and the valet was probably the only one who greeted and treated us with a smile...
Overall—not a happy place...just adequately content.
The good thing is the Birthday boy loved it. Thank God.
Every guest should leave loving their experience with us, so we're disheartened to hear we fell short. We appreciate the feedback you have provided us and we hope you allow us the chance to make this up to you in the future.
Always a great experience! Meat is tender and worth every dollar. The service is 5 star! Staff takes extra precautions with gloves and masks. Staff member walks with you personally through the sides bar and plates the sides of choice. We had at least 4 members other than our server to check on us and ask if we need anything. Great place for date night or family.
Took my wife for our anniversary. We’ve never been but heard the experience is worth it. It totally was. Great place to go for a lovely evening out
The pandemic has changed how the salad bar is reached ans getting what you really want is a challenge! The meat brought around was all dry and I mean all of it. Really unusual. Also the second qe sat down from the salad bar we were inundated with men coming to offer meat, mostly the same person every two minutes. It was a bit much. Seriously having a conversation was near impossible.
Great service and recommendations.
Their staff just overloaded us on the salad plate and thereafter kept bringing is the meats we kept saying we didn’t want.
After repeatedly asking for what we wanted - It took them more than an hour to get us the more expensive meats like the ribeye, house special picanta and lamb chops. After making sure we were too full to eat too much of those.
Its a deliberate and planned strategy that just ruined our thanksgiving dinner. Also, have to mention the carved turkey was just cold and dry.
Am staying clear of this place - Estancia is just a way better option in every way.
Truly disappointing evening - thanks Fogo-de-Chao for ruining thanksgiving!!!
You should always be served the cuts that you are requesting, so we're sorry to hear it took our team some time. We'd love the chance to regain your support in the future, so please visit us again.
Service was HORRIBLE at the Austin location. Glasses sat empty, took FOREVER to get our check after we asked for it. Then the waiter argued with us about an extra coke we didn’t order. Nearly $300 for dinner (4 of us, not counting the other 3 at our table)and he thinks I’m lying about a $3.75 Sprite??? If you want quality over quantity, go elsewhere. I have been to various locations over the years, but I doubt I’ll ever go back to another Fogo.
Please don't allow this visit to keep you away from our establishment, as we'd hate to lose such a wonderful guest. When you are willing to award us a second chance, please stop by.
The manager in the Wait staff was amazing. They were extremely attentive. We will be back very soon.
Grat service and great food. Crystal was amazing.
