Maybe having issue with AC. We were sweating before our first plate. Many meats were cooked at a higher temperature than we were told.
The drinks were fresh and delicious and the food amazing!
My dinner at Fogo De Chao was among the top three dinners I can remember eating! The Austin Restaurant Week deal made it especially worth my money.
I was upset that I had to wait 30 minutes past my reservation times before I was seated
Food was great, they were very very busy! Our poor server was struggling to keep up at the end, but sure was trying!
Everything was great as it should
This was the third time at Fogo de Chao. I normally would give this a solid 5/5 stars, and did so for the last two times. This time however, the service was really crappy. Drinks would take forever to get after you ordered, and after one hour they started taking away the plates without asking if we were done. A bigger "time to leave" hint wasn't possible. But for the amount they charge I expect to take my time.
The previous times this wasn't the case so I hope it was a one-time error. It definitely wasn't becoming of a place that charges $60.
Also, they came by very regularly with the cheap meats (chicken etc) but the good ones were few and far between. The good meats (when they came) were great though, and the saladbar was amazing as always.
So i'll probably give them one more chance, but if the service doesnt improve its gonna be my last time.
Went there for my Husbands birthday. Got there at 4pm. 1/2 the salad bar was missing, cause they were swapping stuff out. A lot of the meats weren’t ready. We were all pretty much done (full), but when you sit for a while they ask if you’re waiting on anything specific. My husband said yes, he wanted the filet mignon. They said no problem. 20 min later, and 2 more waiters asking the same question, he finally got it. The food tasted fine., just not worth the wait with the price of the meal & valet. In the end, I wish I had just taken him to Estancia.
I've visited several times; this time the service was not as friendly as before. I asked, two or three times, for Lamb chops and one of the servers got a bit short with me. At the end we had 6 pieces of cheese bread left over and I asked if I could take them home. The server told me that he would bring some fresh bread, when I opened the bag at home it had only 4 pieces of bread!! We also had to ask for the sides, mashed potatoes, fried plantain etc were not as available as in the past. I guess your directive is towards saving money. For the price I paid for each person, I wasn't too happy. Don't know if I will be back.
Cameron and Nick made sure my experience was wonderful, drink glass was full, made sure I had enough to eat. Christina stopped by to connect and made sure my service was impeccable. Enjoyed the $39 churrascaria experience and was treated with the same respect as a regular paying customer (sans premium meats). Nice recognize nice and my dining experience was wonderful!
I have been to many Fogo de Chao restaurants, in many cities. This Austin location provided me the best service of all of them. On top of that, the meat was fantastic and the Market Bar was fresh and the delicious.
This was not the best experience that I have had at FOGO. We had a reservation that was for 7:15, we did not get seated until 7:45, Their was a reservation for 150 people at 6:45 that still had not shown up yet. I Understand that they and we had a reservation but do something for the guest that are waiting. We love this place but this was by far the worst experience we have ever had.
I have been to this location before and have enjoyed my dinner. This occasion, however, my wife and I were not very pleased. From the moment we sat down it seemed like the service was off. I asked for a specific cut numerous times and we seemed to have been forgotten, numerous times. We barely ate any of the cuts of meat available based on our choice of what we preferred. It seemed as if you weren’t willing to eat what they brought you and you requested something. They simply did not communicate with each other how to execute those requests. We were disappointed to say the least. I also noticed that the carpets, mainly by were the food runners were coming out was extremely dirty, saturated actually. Again, we’ve dined here before in past years and enjoyed it but this may have been our last time here unless they make some changes for sure. My bill was $165 and I tipped $35 equaling $200 that did NOT meet the value. I hope to see improvements for the hopes of other guest.
Overall it was an amazing experience. Second time being here and definitely coming back. The waters and waitresses are always checking on you making sure the meat you want is at your table. It was my boyfriends birthday and you always get worried that they will embarrass you by singing, not here. They give you a complimentary desert with excellent service.
Made a reservation for anniversary, showed up on time and was told there were no clean tables ready. Waited 5mins for them to clean table & seat us. Whoever was cleaning the tables wasn’t actually finished which was apparent by the way she hurriedly kicked food bits away from our table (and in the direction I was walking). I planned to pay for the entire dining experience despite a special they had going available upon request that excluded some cuts of meat, but even then there were at least 4 types of meat that were not brought to our table even once. When I requested lamb chops, I waited over 30 minutes for them and they were never brought out, even after the manager asked us if we needed anything during her rounds(which was the second time I requested lamb.) while waiting on lamb that never came, there were at least 2 waiters who asked if we needed anything (assuming they were trying to get us to leave as it was 30 minutes before close) all who I told I was good but just waiting on lamb. Not one of them bothered to go check on it to make sure it was being prepared. Why even ask then? What’s the point of coming here if you are going to get skimped out on all the good meats? The only things that were offered to us were Sirloin, Filet Mignon, Chicken Legs, and Chicken wrapped in Bacon. I could’ve made all that at home for less than $50. So much for a fancy Anniversary Dinner. Doubt we’ll be coming back again.
Staff is friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing .
Meats were very juicy and tasteful just a bit too much fat on most. Overall, everything was delicious.
A little disappointed we were only offered 4 types of meat, then when we had eaten our desert they started bringing out all these different types of meat that we never were offered. So since it was our first visit we had no idea there were more??
This was the best dinning experience my wife and I have ever had.
These restaurants should not I’ll be selling tables late if they are going to be shutting down and give a crappy service.
Food was amazing, and service was pretty awesome. Just one small speed bump, but we didn't let it slow us down. It was a great first visit.
Every thing about it was great! Great service, Great food.
Wonderful. They made my daughters 16th birthday extra special.
Honestly just not worth the money. It’s a cool atmosphere and you never have to worry about bad service. But the steaks are not that good. Real chewy. Even the prime cuts aren’t that good. Two people with 1 drink and a desert was $150. Would rather go to Ruth Chris or Perry’s for that amount of money. Won’t be back.
Great first visit!!! Everything was superb and delicious. Excellent wait staff and overall wonderful atmosphere!! Will definitely be going back for special occasions
It was my birthday and the waitress knew this. She only checked on us for the first 30 mins and then she was never seen. I didn’t even get my bday slice of cake. Worst experience ever as Fogo de Chao. We go about once a month. Highly disappointed
Great for birthdays!
Austin has so much great food to offer. This was my least favorite meal, and the most expensive.
Seek out some local restaurants first!
As always, great service. The chef was less heavy handed on the salt. I teally like their lamb, pecunya and sausage. I do not like their pork ribs, too dry.
The market table is excellent. Try the candied bacon.
Love this place! Everyone was so pleasant and helpful!!
Great place for friends and multiple couples. Not child friendly (which was what our group wanted ). Food was amazing! Service was awesome!
Great service and great food! Love Alex the manager!
First, I'm a wine guy with my own vineyard, so I was excited to read they had an onsite sommelier. Except they didn't - I got a blank stare. But no worries - I can make my own way through a wine list. I had a glass of their own Malbec. It was decent, but nothing special. My wife wanted a floral white along the lines of Viognier, or Roussanne, or Albarino - but they only carry the corporate standards. So I was excited to find her a rose' by the glass made of Syrah and Grenache. Except they were out of that wine. I found another rose' of Pinot Noir by the bottle. I asked if we could buy it by the glass, since they had no other rose' by the glass. They said the manager said no. I asked to speak with the manager. He said he couldn't open the rose'... the conversation went on and he finally said he could discount the bottle to the price of a glass. The whole time I'm thinking how sad is this corporation that their manager can't treat customers how I would treat customers. In the end we had two glasses and agreed to buy the whole bottle.
After that start it seems we became the ignored table. I watched as waitstaff fawned over other tables "would you like a fresh plate ma'am?" as I had to set my plate aside and go fetch my own fresh plate. And as I watched others get their waters refilled, I finished mine and had to start drinking my wife's. In the end it was $180 for an evening that wasn't any fun.
As for the food, the salad bar is first rate. Very diverse, impeccably clean and fresh. The meats were incredible, if a bit too salty for me (especially while waiting for more water). The gauchos serving the meat were great - very cordial and experts with a carving knife.
I am in the reataurant business and asked the valet what their favorite item on the menu was. He said he had never dined. It would be beneficial to have them know the menu! Otherwise the meal and experience was perfect! Thank you
The only criticism I have is the one that happens every time we go to any of these establishments. The staff tend to follow certain patterns when bringing around the meat. Certain areas tend to get certain selections. Sometimes, I'm sitting in a spot that gets good rotation and selection, sometimes I sit in a spot where I just get offered one or two items all night. Overall, a very good place to eat and we will continue to go back.
Phenomenal. But it took quite a while to get a couple drinks.
It was our first time and it was a fabulous experience!!
We will definitely be back.
Meats were dry, service at the table was terrible. The hostess at the door was great.
