Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
Fogo de Chao never disappoints. We took our kids, all under 9, here for the experience. They all really liked it ! The salad bar is awesome and they loved picking their starters..... the meat is great as always and I like the fact that they come and ask you what you want and don’t just trail a succession of lesser quality items to try and fill you up ! Choose your favorites..... great job !
If you are expecting the same service and experience you had before the change to a more corporate formula, then you will be disappointed. IF you are walking into this meal with no preconceived notions, then you will be pleased. The food is still very good, but the service seems to have faltered quite a bit.
Once upon a time, you felt like you were at a top notch restaurant. This particular visit we had to flag down the wait staff when we could find them. The table sides were never offered and cheese bread finally brought over near the end of the meal. When we asked for a table side, they were gracious and brought it, so maybe this is their new system.
We've eaten here several times this year and have been watching the change in culture with a heavy heart. You used to feel like you were in a Brazilian steak house. Overall, still great food, but it definitely has lost its warm and welcoming touches. It has become "chain"-like whereas before you never would have known it was.
Our servers, Danielle and Jose, were AMAZING! They kept drinks coming and dishes cleared, promptly, without us waiting or asking.
This visit was on this past Saturday evening. We came on a Tuesday last month and the food was much better. This most recent visit saw the House Special Sirloin come to our table 6:1 for any other selection. Sorry, but not an exaggeration. We asked both our servers if Filet Mignon was even available and both asked the kitchen to send some out... three times... it was the final cut sent out as we finished our meal, and it was entirely encrusted in coarse salt, too salty to eat.
Several items from the buffet that make great flavor pairings with certain meats were not available, two most notably... fig preserves and bleu cheese crumbles. Must say, this visit left something to be desired, compared to previous visits over the years.
Our family used to come here for many special occasions; however, it has changed and become much more "Chain like." They ran out of a certain meat we like and we had to wait a good 20 minutes for more to be cooked. The greeters at the front were not as welcoming as we were accustomed to. We had a 7 pm res and had to wait 20 min for our table to get ready.
And, the worse thing...you no longer have those divine chocolate covered mints we always looked forward to upon leaving.
It costs much too much money to NOT be satisfied so we won't be returning.
Fogo is in a class of its own for churrascaria dining. The Groucho’s offered me a cut of meat not typically on their menu on this particular dining experience. The Brazilian lemonade is required. Everything lamb is delicious. Everything beef chicken or pork will be one of the best you’ve tried in your life.
I have been a long time fan of Fago; however, I have grown disappointed in what was once a robust salad bar offering. This may seem minor, except their salad bar is a centerpiece of their menu and offering. The value was always there, it is regrettably becoming questionable.
We have been fans of this restaurant for years and we have sadly watched it decline in the last year. We went for a Birthday in May 2016 and were disappointed by the quality of the meats. We put it down to an off night but unfortunately Thursday night’s meal was even worse! The price for a dinner for 4 was $360.00 which included 4 cocktails but no wine with dinner or dessert. There are many, many other steakhouses in Atlanta and any one of them would be a better choice.
We go to Fogo quite often for our after tax season celebration. Everyone can get what they want, however much of it they want and everyone comes away happy and satisfied.
The salad bar almost always has something new to try and and the quality of the food, well it can't be beat.
Recently, I have been just ordering the salad bar and one meat. It is more than enough and I don't come away feeling I have gorged on food.
All in all we had a wonderful lunch.
We loved our experience. We were seated promptly after checking in at our reserved time and greeted with two waiters. The salad bar has extensive options. There was never a shortage of meat going around and it was packed. We actually had to keep turning our cards to red just to catch up eating. All was delicious and cooked to our liking. We had our infant with us who enjoyed the atmosphere also and he was welcomed by all the staff.
Great food. Excellent service. The major issue is parking. We went there around noon and while we were eating, someone broke into our car as well another family's car. The window was smashed with glass everywhere. We were parked in the self parking area in the back. We later found out from staff that it is a common occurrence. There were no cameras in the area where we parked. I think the restaurant could do more to secure their patrons' cars. We will not be going back because the food is not worth replacing a car window.
Food and service wonderful. Lack of handicap parking and I did not see a ramp for handicap people to navigate the one step. One entrance door locked causing issues entering and exiting. I went off on a woman who shoved her child in front of me when I opened the right hand (entrance side of the door). I'm recovering from double knee replacements and balance is an issue. She is very luck I did not fall on her child.
Excellent food, exceptional service. In the past, I always went easy on the salad bar in order to save room for the meats. This time, my wife and I only ordered the salad bar and discovered the food on the buffet was incredible. And between the pork and bean dish and the cured meats, there was plenty for the carnivore and vegetarian to enjoy.
