Fog Harbor Fish House Ratings and Reviews
Paid way too much for a crab cake dinner, only two small crab cakes and a plate full of fries for $29.99! The crab cakes were smaller than a regular size crab cake. I won't order it again. Also, the wine list is not on trend with what is being served today. Not a lot of options either. Other than that, dinner and service was fine.
Good Option at Pier 39
My expectations were higher but unfortunadtly not achieved. The food is incredible but a little bit expensive considering was not as authentic than others in different restaurants.
The dress code is very very relax so you can even wear shorts and tennis... I though was going to be more formal.
I liked it but it is an ordinary resturant.
Went here for a special occasion but found the service to be quite aloof. Our server had too many tables and at multiple points throughout the meal, we were serving ourselves - pouring our own wine, passing out our own plates, etc. Not great. The food was fine - lobster wasn't overcooked, chowder was good, cioppino was also quite good. The restaurant has all of the ingredients for a special occasion place but based on my experience, I would go elsewhere.
We were expecting a really good seafood dinner since the reviews were good. Instead we got really bad service, our server came to our table maybe 3 times. Once to take our order( she came so late we ordered drinks and food at the same time), once to bring us the wrong bottle of wine, and once to bring us our check. Never checked on us, never cleared our table, nothing. It was pretty bad considering we thought we were in a nicer type restaurant. Aside from the service the food was just ok, and ok for the prices isn’t really acceptable. The seafood in the Ciopinni was very fishy tasting, but the sour dough bread was good. My husband got the seafood platter which he said was good except the super fishy crab taste. Not worth the $160 we spent on 2 people with no appetizers or desserts.
We absolutely love Fig Harbor, their fish is to die for as well as salads, breads, soups, drinks as well as meat. We always stop there if it’s for a snack and a drink, or a filling dinner. Located on Pier 39 you have to go. Did I mention the bleu cheese bread? Just get it!
Fresh and tasty seafood and salads. Good cocktails. Excellent service - very attentive and prompt. I will definitely go back. We had a 4:30 reservation on a Sunday which seemed like a good transitional time between lunch and dinner so it was fairly quiet. Even when it started filling up for dinner, the noise level was not over the top.
My granddaughter and I loved our window seats, watching the Blue and Gold fleet ships embarking their tours.
Seafood and cheese sandwiches were just right. Nick was attentive without hovering. He was very helpful in guiding us to muni transit connections.
Memorable Fog Harbor lunch!
The crab risotto was amazing and the chowder simply divine! The grilled fish mediocre but the shrimps well prepared. We were impressed with their house Chardonnay. Service was good, attentive but not annoying. A clear go if you're looking for a decent place to dine in this area.
OT has never failed me. This restaurant had great reviews and offered a scenic view. My colleagues and I had amazing service and beautiful views. There were singleness crab specials which were amazing. If crab risotto is offered when you visit, you MUST order! Remember to not gorge yourselves on the sourdough bread. It will be tempting but hold back.
Fog Catcher was just okay...not exactly what I expected. The main complaint I have is that the fish was drenched in butter. If the fish is truly good it doesn't need to be done this way. The noise factor wasn't bad but my wife got somewhat of a bad response when she asked a question of one of the hostesses.
Everything was wonderful. Our server made sure that the experience we had, being our first time there, was worth remembering. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting delicious food, pleasant ambience, friendly and caring staff and breathtaking view to come to the Fog House.
I must say I was rather disappointed with our service.
I watched our waiters interaction with other tables and he was quite friendly, attentive, and kind. With us it was a very long and drawn out experience. About 2 hours or so. His attitude toward us was more so like we were bothering him.
Perhaps he didn’t think he would receive the 20% tip that I left him, undeservingly.
I’m not certain that I would return, even though the food was great. Paying that much money to be treated like a burden or unworthy isn’t exactly my cup of tea.
It was my granddaughter's birthday, so we have a family celebration. While she lives in a different State, she was coming to S.F. for business and it was around her birthday, so we decided to try your restaurant because she loves good fish. We were delighted with the service and especially the food. We will recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and family.
