Fog Harbor Fish House Ratings and Reviews
Our experience for lunch was amazing!! After spending the morning at Alcatraz is was nice to sit promptly at a table with a view of the island and docks (and seals) and enjoy pur cold beverages and delicious meals. Since I mentioned our anniversary in our reservation Susan and our host made our experience extra special. Great time overall.
It is nice to know that good places like Fog Harbor are embedded in the schlock of Fisherman's Wharf. Very good quality food, great views (though really hot for sunset on this rare really hot day and no fog blowing in), very pleasant. Not cheap by any means, but doable. The mixed grill was fine; salmon, swordfish and prawns all very tasty, as was the well-prepared asparagus. Of course as a Pier 39 restaurant it is a big and bustling place, and you may need to wait for a table if you don't make a rez.
My out of town visitors LOVED your restaurant. I asked for a window seat, which was honored. Our meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Our substitutions were granted by our server with no problem. The service superb. Thank you for a great evening, great food and a relaxing atmosphere at your restaurant.
A restaurant on the second floor of the bustling Fisherman's Wharf Pier 39. The place is packed & had super long waits- make sure you make a reservation ahead of time. Good ambience, large portions- definitely catered towards tourists, so the prices are on the high side. The clam chowder & the mussels and frites appetizers were good, and our whole lobster entrees were also tasty- as were their cocktails.
We went to Fog Harbor while vacationing with friends. This was our last night in San Francisco and we wanted to make it special. It was a success. The seafood is fresh and sustainable as well. Steaks were cooked perfectly. It was a good value as every one of our meals was tremendous. It got very quiet as we began eating.... we were all enjoying our meals....no one talked! I would highly recommend this restaurant. If we return to the area we will go there again! Yum! Staff were great too...our waiter was terrific!
Fantastic find!! Amazing views and very clean elegant nautical decor. The food is seasoned so perfectly it is hard to figure out what ingredients are being used to make it taste so perfectly paired. Reservations are a must- we barely squeezed in during the week at 4:45. Totally worth it.
I took my mom on our vacation for our special dinner at this particular restaurant and we were very pleased the atmosphere and view were wonderful and the service from Michael was awesome I will definitely be coming back when I'm in town again ! We enjoyed a strawberry mock mojito, Champagne , blue cheese garlic bread, a cup of clam chowder, crab cake, baked oysters, grilled chicken sandwich… Everything was delicious
I enjoyed my dinner here, but that said I did have a few issues with it. I was celebrating and all I had wanted that evening was a good steak and a whole lobster. That is what I ordered, but for a 54.00 lobster I got a PACIFIC super tiny lobster I can buy in any grocery store. I work for a seafood restaurant in the OC and we have LIVE Maine lobsters that are 1 1/2 pounds for 40.00. I didn't expect to be getting that small or that poor quality of a lobster from a restaurant like Fog harbor at Pier 39. I guess I should have chosen Chart House that night. They also did not offer to clean the lobster so it came to the table with the insides still in it. Most places automatically clean the inside or at least offer. The service and clam chowder were good.
I was not impressed with Fog Haven. First, our waiter did not smile once. He almost seemed irritated to be serving us. The food was okay but nothing real special, I have had the same penne at Olive Garden.
The waterfront view was nice. That was one reason why I had made reservations at the restaurant. However, watching the sea lions is actually better just off the pier and you can stay there as long as you like.
The best thing about Fog Haven is the fact they take reservations where many of the other restaurants on Pier 39 do not.
The restaurant was so accommodating and we were seated straight away. Our wonderful waiter, Wayne, made us feel so comfortable. Portion size outstanding. Tastes delicious and fresh. It is noisy but there are quieter areas to request. Overall excellent Fisherman's wharf choose for us.
We were on a roadtrip through the USA and we made a reservation in this restaurant based on the critics in Tripadvisor! Although we had made a reservation at a later time they did their utmost to seat us earlier when we arrived sooner. Great host(s), terrific meal and beautful view!
Enjoyed this on our first evening in San Francisco. I had requested a table with a view and we were given a lovely table by a window with a gorgeous view. Our server was Curtis and he did everything he possibly could to ensure that we had a great experience. His suggestions regarding our meal and wine were spot on. The food was delicious He took his time to offer some suggestions about area attractions. Curtis was the best server I've had in a long time, be sure to ask for him.
