Fog Harbor Fish House Ratings and Reviews
Had a reservation waited 20 minutes only to be seated in a high traffic doorway. Across the room, there was a table open next to a window, which was requested in my reservation. We requested to move, initially told it was reserved, I argued that we also had reservations and after some checking, we were allowed to move. From here our experience improved. Server was knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Service, from everyone, was on point. Food was excellent! Enjoyed the sunset over the Bay for my birthday as planned. Would have given 5 stars if the hostess had been on top of our reservation and requested seating.
Went here for a late Valentine’s Dinner date with my wife. Ambience and views were great from our table. Clean and comfortable. The food was great! Mussel fries were amazing! Probably the freshest mussels that I have ever tasted. Not rubbery and you can tell they were never frozen! The bread was awesome and the clam chowder was the BEST! Perfect balance of richness and clam. The risotto was great but got too rich for me towards the end. It probably could’ve used less butter or cream or some other lighter sauce or additional crab meat to cut the richness. The lazy ciopinno was excellent as well. Our only complaint was it took 30 mins for the mussel fries to be served. But at least the server recognized that it had taken too long so she took it out of the bill. And it was worth the wait anyway! So kudos for the server’s sensitivity. Overall, we will definitely go back and we recommend it to people who really want to experience San Francisco food! Top 3 seafood restaurant in SF in my opinion!
We were greeted promptly and gave our order.
Our drinks were delivered (beer & Bloody Mary) after about 10 minutes. Another 10 minutes passed and our chowders arrived with our Entre. By the time we finished our chowder, our entre was cool. Maybe our friendly server had too Much area to cover?
Lunch w co-workers visiting SF for a conference and wanted some fresh seafood. I was a little worried since it was at Pier 49 in heart of tourism but it did not disappoint in any way. Delicious clam chaowder in a sour dough bowl topped w fresh crab and overlooking the water. Great restaurant!
A perfect Valentines celebration. Greeted warmly, brought to our table with an incredible view where both guests could see the sights. Shared the seafood tower, a feast of oysters, lobster, shrimp and crab. They brought a surprise dessert and a rose to add to our anniversary celebration. We felt the love and appreciate the staff for making us feel so special.
The food was absolutely delicious, the service was great, and the accommodations for my 1 year old son were fantastic. The only problem I had was the dirty looks a waitress continued to give my son every single time she passed by. Obviously being passive and not wanting to cause a scene I didnt ask her if there was a problem, it was Valentines day and I just wanted for us to enjoy our meal. But I have never seen such dirty looks given before, and I have seen many, my career requires it. Honestly it made me want to leave in the middle of our meal, but I dropped it and wanted to continue having a good time. Regardless of this disrespectful server, Fog Harbor deserves top reviews, our own waiter was fantastic and polite enough to earn himself a 27% tip. This restaurant was so great that I won't allow one server to ruin the overall quality I experienced here. Will possibly come back during different hours to avoid the server.
Got open table reservations for two for "day before Valentine's day" evening. Great seafood pasta dishes, clam chowder, view (elevated table few feet from windows). Delightful.
Was stuck in traffic and going to be a few minutes late. Called to alert them and they picked up almost immediately and noted the delay. No wait for seating.
Great food, view, service
Packed house. Good food. Great window table. Service good but not quite attentive enough. Love the “front room” area with water, flowers, and fireplace. Enjoyed cocktails there. Parking expensive. They validate 1 hour. Would definitely recommend reservations in open table!
Would go again.
We had a wonderful view of the water, and our server was amazingly attentive. He gave his honest opinion about specific dishes, and drinks - and did not steer us wrong. The hibiscus margarita was recommended and delicious. It was a tad bit over-priced, but the food was very good, with decent portions.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and it was wonderful! They sat us at a perfect table with a view of the bay, treated us with excellent service, and the food was divine. Also, be sure to try the creme brulee.... It was so good we went back for more the next night.
For the location, the food was below average.... As a traveler from NY, I had heard a lot about the food in SFO....Especially Seafood....It was not at all worth the hype....
The prices are not worth the food at all....We ordered some chilly garlic shrimp as appetizer and we got more onions and tomatoes than the shrimp....
Also the Pacific Cod as the entree was completely bland....The white beans and spinach it came with had no taste to it....
Went here for Cioppino. Very disappointed!! The cioppino tastes ok but the crab legs were cold. They were obviously not prepared with the rest of the ingredient in the cioppino. We let the waiter know and the manager give us a free dessert. It looks like this place catered mainly to tourist like us who don’t know any better. Our server was courteous but not enthusiastic. Definitely will not come back.
Had a reservation for our anniversary at 8:45pm. We were seated only a few minutes after our reservation time, so we were happy with that given that they were full and many people were waiting. The shrimp was, perhaps, the best I’ve ever had in my life. My wife also said the clam chowder in the sourdough bowl was the best she’s had. Our experience was excellent
So disappointed.. No view of the harbor. Server was terrible and inattentive. Brought soup before cocktails. Never checked for second round of cocktails. Never checked to see if meal was satisfactory. Worst of all never acknowledged Birthday celebration which was clearly on reservations. Was so disgusted by then we just left z
My daughter and I visited San Francisco for the weekend and wanted to eat good seafood. My son and his girlfriend who live in Berkeley joined us for a memorable evening. Read all of the good reviews and made a reservation on Open Table. The ocean view was beautiful and the food was delicious. Our server was polite and efficient. The only thing I did not enjoy was Pier 39 itself which was over crowded. It was nice to have this gem of a restaurant there.
The bread of breadbowl(with clam chowder) was not that sour so we could enjoy it very much.
Arrived prior to our appointment but we were able to enter the restaurant.
Sadly, we couldnt get the window seat because we didnt went there at the appointed time.
We were in town for just the evening and wanted some fresh seafood. The Fog Harbor Fish House delivered! It was busy, but the service was very friendly and the kitchen got our food out very quickly. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend giving it a try.
Not a good experince, arrived ealy for a reservation, host wouldnt seat us 3 min early even though 3/4 the restaraunt was empty. then ended up seating us 10 minuites laste because she socialized with her friend who happend to be there.
Once seated the waiter got the food and order wrong.. food was okay, but was not anywhere worth the money compared to other restaurants around. Lastly, the noise lever there is LOUD. so you can barly hear the people across from you.
All in all I would not go back here, especially considering other restaurants are around that were way better that we went to.
Great food. Beautiful views. Decent Service. Casual feel. I would return next time I'm in San Fran.... I'm sure locals have other spots they prefer but for someone who doesn't live near the water or fresh seafood, this was the best of all worlds. Not snobby but great food just the same. Perfect vacation dining spot.
