Flying Vine Lakeside Grille
Great atmosphere, and the food was amazing the lamb lollipop were great!
Food was sorta bland had to add my own seasonings.
Food was delicious. Music too loud.
I wish there were more vegan entrées. Vegans and vegetarians are more and more common now, and there isn’t much of a selection for us. I also thought it was a bit too loud. But hey, it’s in a beautiful location by the water and our waitress was extremely friendly and good, so I will return it!
Having a loud bar and tv does not equate a serene date night. Service was good, food was marginal. The risotto was undercooked and salty, there wasn’t one aspect of the meal that we could say was note worthy. If you choose to sit outside and have a drink it could be romantic. Living in the burbs has left me craving fine dining, driving to the city will continue.
Great food, easy to get a reservation, friendly and helpful staff.
Portions were small compared to the price.
Overall, a pleasant meal and good wine. Service was a tad shaky in the beginning, but she recovered nicely. Snapper was a bit of a miss tonight as it was undercooked, but the ribeye was spot on. The risotto was simply excellent. Liked the risotto ball appetizer a great deal. Dessert was superb. Had the strawberry cheesecake and the fried
Banana pudding donuts (strange but delightful). I am really very glad that we chose to spend Valentine’s Day at The Flying Vine Lakeside Grille.
When we arrived my reservation wasnt showing nor were the 2 parties behind me. It was Valentine's day and they told us to order off the regular menu because the Valentine's menu was not ready. The server was nice but smelled like tobacco smoke which was horrible to deal with. The food was good but not spectacular to say the least. Would probably go back but not anytime soon.
I have heard nothing but great things about the food during Brunch, just haven't been able to fit that in my schedule. Visited for dinner, had a wine flight and Chicken Caprese. The wine flight was good, the chicken was not bad just hard and difficult to cut through. Service was fantastic though, we were quickly accommodated when we asked to move tables because we were cold from the draft from the entrance.
I really want to like this place, but after being there for the third time I just can’t . The service is very slow and the menu is hit or miss not to mention very small. Most of the food is mediocre at best.
Excellent food and excellent service. Steaks cooked to perfection. Great wine selection.
Restaurant was nice ... waiter was pleasant and did not interrupt during the date ... enjoyed the experience...
Excellent red snapper; great service; nice atmosphere
Food and service were amazing! Will definitely come back for special occasions.
Amazing food and service
We had a great time. The mushroom and risotto balls apps were yummy! Star of the night was the cheesy risotto side! Husband had snapper and he said the andouille rice was great, and my seared tuna was amazing. Also the bread pudding donut holes for dessert. One of the ladies with us ordered a California red wine flight and the waiter placed it backwards which really messed up the wine she chose. The noise might be because we were close to the bar. The food was great. Would recommend.
I made a reservation for my birthday so my friends and I could have some wine and fellowship. The wine was great, the server was super patient as the group got larger and he was very attentive. The food was tasty, too.
Outstanding service, drinks and food. Will definitely be back.
Service was great!
We all really enjoyed the food and were able to talk and hear each other which was good.
We love this place! The bartenders are wonderful! They are knowledgeable ans patient with all our questions! The happy hour bar specials are delicious. I highly recommend Flying Vine.
The lunch menu is very limited but what I had (soup and salad) was good.
Never had a bad experience. Most that work there know us now and treat us like regulars!
Great service, good wine selection. Risotto appetizer was tasty. Excellent filet mignon and snapper. Flavorful with lovely presentation. All in all, a very good meal.
Portion sizes were an insult for the cost.
Honestly, the food was good, the portions sizes were too small!
I live in the community and many of the restaurants here are pricey. I will just drive in town a few miles and get better portions for my $50 dinner! Drinks were excellent. I would go for a drink but not for the food. Good food is easy to come by in Houston.
Loved the drinks & the food was pretty good, but the portions were a little small considering the prices. Overall, had a lovely time though! Interested in going back for brunch sometime.
The food was pretty good, but overpriced, especially the salad and drinks. The service was very slow. It is a nice atmosphere, however.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday & retirement. I did mention that when I booked through Open Table. We were seated promptly, the special occasion was not acknowledged. My husband is a bourbon drinker & the bourbon in one of their signature drinks was not available. I had the shrimp tacos & while they were flavorful, only one taco was “full” the other two were on the skimpy side IMO.
Very good service and food. There was a group there who was Extremely loud with there own music on top of the house music.
Great place to eat/drink. Sergio the bartender and the wait staff are awesome. We have never had anything bad as far as food or drinks at this place.
Tried this place for the 2nd time since it opened. Last time was about a year ago and we didn't like it much but thought we should give it a 2nd try since it has just opened. Unfortunately, we had a similar experience to when we first visited. Everyone was nice, but for $170 (including $50 for 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine; tip included), I expect exceptional service, better than average food, etc. (some reason to come back vs go somewhere else). We did not find that in our 2nd visit and will not be returning, though I wish them well and hope they are able to find their niche. It's a great location, so with improvement, they likely could do very well.
Service Was Great, Overall Ambiance was nice. We were there for a Birthday and it was really nice. We had Wine and Charcuterie Board and Flatboard which tasted Amazing. My new favorite local place
We went for dinner with another couple. I had been there for Sunday brunch on the patio and wanted to try their dinner. Restaurant is nicely lite, pretty decor and great location on Towne Lake. It was very hot and humid so we chose to sit inside. The waitress was very friendly and made suggestions. We had wine and beer with our dinner. We started with risotto balls and fried green tomatoes - both good and great sauce. Our dinners; however, were lacking in any flavor. We had the snapper, fish tacos and the flatbread (with chicken, avocado, bacon, jalapeños). The flatbread was the best of the dishes. The snapper and fish tacos were tasteless. Disappointing. We will be back for drinks and appetizers on the patio but not dinner.
Our first visit and the food, service and atmosphere proved to be outstanding!
I want to be clear that our waiter was great! He was very polite and knowledgeable about the menu. It took way too long for our food though but I think it was the kitchen’s fault. Toward the end of our visit, there was a fight in the kitchen. All the customers could see it. It was very unprofessional. I’ve been to Lakeside Grill for lunch with a friend and it was good. This time I took my family for dinner and not sure we will ever go back. Very bad experience. I actually felt bad for our waiter that night.
I have been to Flying Vine Lakeside Grille several times and have always had the best experience. Food and service have always been great! This time, however, I was disappointed. We were one of 4-5 tables in the whole restaurant yet it took over an hour to get our food. The drinks came extremely slowly and one person received raw shrimp in her tacos and all of The Cure sandwiches came without avocado. Very below the expectation we expected and the service we have always received. Our waitress even had a little bit of a chip on her shoulder. The manager was nice but should have apologized for the slow service and especially the food mishaps. Really hoping this was a one time slip up and this isn’t the service of the future.
I met a friend I had not seen in several years for dinner at the Flying Vine. As always, the food, wine and service were wonderful!
First let me say the food was very good. The menu was extensive for a place this size. Prices are high but slightly below upscale restaurants closer to town.
In Cypress they would compare to Dario’s or Mershe.
One big negative - no bread or butter served. With any upscale restaurant this should be routine. The atmosphere is a little uneven, somewhere between nouveau and industrial. Other reviews have noted the sliding doors on the restrooms which get left open most of the time. The chef, Brian, has a great touch and with a little fine tuning this could be a great spot.
I had a wonderful time here! The wait staff was so attentive and warm. Our server constantly checked to see if we were doing ok as well as other staff members. It was a very cozy and nice experience.
