We had a very nice dinner at the Flour Shop! Shared small plates and 2 entrees and most everything was very flavorful and cooked beautifully. Service was very good but some of our appetizer wasn’t ready when it was served to us and even after reminding the waitress that we still didn’t receive what we were told “was still in the oven”, it never arrived. We had a good laugh about it but when you pay for something, you should actually get what you ordered or at the least say that it wasn’t available. We would have been fine with that! Anyway, would definitely return. Beautiful space and a fun date night!
Exceptional food - especially the fresh pastas and breads made daily - even as you watch. A true gem located at the back side of Park Road Shopping Center.
Absolutely delicious! We loved our appetizers and entres. Great portions! Hot and fresh!
My meal was overall great. My ribeye was cooked perfectly it just arrived a little on the colder side. Would’ve enjoyed it more that way. Other than that it was another great experience
Most of the food was bland....(the dates were amazing!!) Shrimp Ceviche had no flavor at all. 3 pasta dishes all bland aside from the meatballs in the gnocchi which were so spicy they ruined the taste of everything else. Server was just as bland as the food. Toffee cake was ok but nothing I’d return for. The layout is cute and love the open kitchen concept...Was really excited to try this place and was extremely disappointed. Even the drinks were bland. Won’t be going back.
Menu has very nice variety; fresh pasta was my wife’s choice and it was cooked perfectly. I had the Iberico pork steak and the flavor and presentation were wonderful. Buratta for starters and brioche with ice cream for dessert were excellent bookends. Our server was personable, knowledgeable, and nicely attentive. Will definitely return.
Fabulous homemade shareable plates, pastas and entrees. Great service! We’ll be back!
Amazing food and service.
Delicious menu! We were running behind schedule for our reservation due to out of town friends arriving late. They accommodated the delay and still served superb food! Highly recommend.
Our meal at Flour Shop was a real treat. The hostess delightful, waitstaff knowledgable and efficient and just are right level of engaging, and the food was fantastic! Must come here more often.
Great food and wonderful service. I highly recommend.
Wonderful experience from food to service to ambiance! We can't wait to go back!!!!!
The salad and pasta were delicious. The crudo was beautifully presented, but was very small slices of fish. The hostess seated us in the quietest area possible.
I went 2xs in a week. Two very different, yet equally amazing experiences. The first was a girls’ night and we sat outside. In July. It was wonderful! Beautiful ambiance, incredible shared plates, refreshing drinks and few mosquitos. Fans and shade kept us cool. The mushrooms were heaven. Carpaccio was the least exciting dish and we all still loved it. Gnocchi is always a win and did not disappoint.
The second visit was date night with friends. GET THE LEMON RICOTTA RAVIOLI. Shrimp small plate was drenched in sauce that we continued to sop up long after the shrimp disappeared. Squid ink linguini was another win. Sat inside facing the open kitchen and enjoyed watching the prep as we chatted with our friends.
Second time eating at Flour Shop. Food was fantastic this time (a bit hit or miss the first time, early on in their operation). However, it took 1 hr 40 min to get our food - not sure if that was kitchen-driven or server-driven as she was new (probably a bit of both). Also ordered “butter service” and had to wait 20 minutes after the bread was delivered for the, you know, butter. I’ll chock it up to a challenging night and try it again given the food and ambiance!
Everything was fine. We ordered two share appetizers split a pasta then waited 40 minutes from the time we finished our pasta until our final course. We were disappointed. The food was really good but that last wait was just too much. We left without ordering dessert.
This is a consistent winner when it comes to a great (open kitchen, loud) atmosphere with great food. It would be outstanding and perhaps I am nitpicking here but the host/front of the room people have a take it our leave it attitude upon arrival and seating. I mean, is it hard to smile and say thank you.
Another nitpicky thing that in my eyes a bit of improvement would make this place outstanding. I no longer drink alcohol and with my ice tea order come to find there is no artificial sweetener available. I can have sugar in the raw if I want. OK, so that's a bit whatever, but then I was charged for my ice tea refill. So, $6 bucks for two 12 oz ice unsweet ice tea's. Good for them with great margins for those of us who don't drink or perhaps are DD's.
Great and attentive service. The food was amazing as were the cocktails and dessert. Brought some work friends the next week and it was even better. Great addition to the restaurant scene and Backlot!
Dinner was amazing. We have been several times and will continue to go back.
This was our second dining experience at Flourshop and as expected, it did not disappoint! We had the butter service, which included an incredible spread of pistachio honey butter, tarragon pink Himalayan sea salt butter, and tomato butter with a fresh assortment of breads, roasted beets, venison meatballs, scallops, and lemon ginger pasta. We could not have had a better date night!
Excellent food, excellent staff and great atmosphere!
We visited Flour Shop for the first time with high expectations. The food and service did not disappoint. Both were superb. Our main complaint was the room temperature. Between the open kitchen and the full glass front with the sun blazing in, we were all actually sweating just sitting there. We were told a new HVAC unit was going to be installed in the next few weeks so we’ll see if that happens. If so, this will truly be a fantastic place for repeat meals.
My second time here. I want to love it but I can only like it. Both times the flavors of my dish were good and both time my pasta was overcooked.
Great meal! The gnocchi was amazing. Would highly recommend.
Everything was great except for the temperature in the restaurant. Had to be above 80 degrees and our waitress told it was normally warmer. I’ll definitely be back in the fall
Fantastic food and service. A little loud but what a great place. I wouldn’t do a first date Due to the loudness when full here but if you love great food check it out. Excellent for a dinner with friends. Prices seem a little high but the quality and service make it worthwhile. We will definitely be back.
Delicious house made food and craft cocktails. Excellent service. A very nice evening!!
Had a great visit to Flour Shop. Quaint little Italian restaurant tucked away behind the Park Road Shopping Center. The restaurant serves fresh pasta which is always a hit with us. Great wine list. Started with cooked mushrooms served on endive leaves which was quite tasty. The homemade focaccia bread was excellent. I had a lemon fettucine with sausage ragu. My wife had the bucatini pasta with shirmp. Both had excellent portion sizes. We finished the meal by sharing the cannoli which we both remarked was the best we have had since being in Italy. Overall was an excellent meal and an excellent night. Will definitely return.
Everything from the food to the service to the ambience was amazing. Our first visit will definitely not be our last. The grouper crudo was delicious and light, the gnocchi and pork meatballs were flavorful and filling and the scallops with corn and okra was out of this world. And, the bread...what can I say? We loved everything about this place!
Food was great, but so hot. We thought the AC was broken, but this seems to be the norm in summer.
Outstanding food and fresh pasta being made as you eat. Nice selection of different dishes - for the pasta lovers and plenty of variety for those not in the mood for pasta. A must have is the burrata appetizer. Excellent wine selection and wonderful cocktail menu. The fresh pasta is amazing - especially the gnocchi.
Great atmosphere. Great service. Even better food!!
Our server was great! Very knowledgeable about the menu and always arrived to the table with a smile!
I already knew the restaurant and it is my husband's favorite restaurant, so I chose it to celebrate Father's Day. Unfortunately, this time the restaurant was very noisy. I'll be back on a quieter day.
We were promptly sat at the bar for our 6:30 reservation by a cheerful hostess. I wasn’t watching the clock but it did seem an inordinate amount of time passed before our server approached us, regardless of the relatively empty restaurant. Our sever was probably the least pleasant part of the experience. We were clearly not people she was interested in waiting on, and she barely concealed her distaste. I can guess as to why she didn’t care for our presence, but don’t want to speculate about her character. It should be noted we were both well dressed and polite. We also tipped over 20% in spite of her attitude.
We ordered a bottle of wine and a wide array of dishes to try, which were certainly crafted with care, but didn’t leave an impression. I did enjoy watching the chefs work, and that was the highlight of the evening.
I also believe our server brought us the wrong final dish, but at that point we were too disinterested to care.
Overall, a decent meal, but if I’m going to dine at a “trendy” spot, I’d like to be treated with a modicum of respect by the person I’ll be tipping on a $120 check.
Very happy will go back
Everything was just, alright. We started with the carpaccio and burrata, both where good but lacked salt. Entrees where scallops and duck, both just simply needed salt and the Brussels on the duck where just fried and put on the plate.. nothing else. Cocktails where good. Still confused with the servers wearing tank tops ..
It had been a while since we came to this restaurant. It was great to be back. The menu is limited but exceptionally prepared and presented. The service was excellent and we even found out that our server baked the bread earlier in the day. For the wine I chose the Cote de Rhone blend and loved it. Our meals were fantastic. We started by sharing the venison meatballs which were nice spiced and the snapper crudo which was fresh, tangy, a little sweet, and awesome. For entrees I had the grouper special, my wife had the bolognese, and our friends had the hanger steak and duck. There was nothing left on any of the plates. We devoured everything because it was so good. I just can't imagine our dining experience being any better and at a reasonable price.
Way overpriced for pasta, even though it’s delicious. Tired of looking at the same things on the menu
I would’ve given food and service a 5 had it not been for one major screwup. All appetizers and entrees were fabulous except for a horrible rib-eye entree which was as tough as shoe leather and half fat. When server asked how food was I told her how bad the steak was and all she said was “I’m sorry”. I assumed she would either offer a replacement or deduct it from the bill but she did neither. My bad for not asking to see the manager but I didn’t want to create an issue in front of other diners. Dinner experience was ruined and I was fuming about it. Still upset even as I write this.
