The overall experience was ok at best. We went in during dinner hours and we were the only ones in the entire restaurant which is always a bad sign. The waiter was not very knowledgeable, the wine list was short, and the food was average at best. I would not recommend this restaurant given the other fine restaurants in the area.
My wife & I have had dinner at Flour & Vine three times recently. The food has been exceptionally good & the service excellent. It has also been quiet enough for good conversation. We highly recommend it.
Enjoyed my first visit to Flour and Vine following a show a Zach Scott Theater. The food was tasty, and the staff very attentive. It wasn't crowded at 5:30 on a Sunday. Good ambiance, and I'd recommend.
I was hoping for live piano music but alas that was from the previous owners. One of the bar tenders was a little survey but I managed to get her to smile . The ambiance is lacking but the food was excellent and our waiter very nice. My husband is Italian and loves bread with his pasta but none was served. We asked later and were told it’s served upon request! They should have told us! The major thing was, our entree came when we had barely started our salads. The waiter should have waited to turn it in. We will not order it until we are finished with our salads, we should know better . The scallops were wonderful! My husband who is in seafood sales said the waiters should know the origin of their seafood .
12 friends ate at Flour and Vine before going to a show at the Zach Scott Theatre and we had a wonderful time. There was something on the regular menu for everyone. Several members of our party ordered the pork tenderloin special and said it was very good. I was especially impressed with the service. We ate in under two hours and didn't feel rushed at all--quite an accomplishment with a large group. The server even gave us separate checks without being asked. When we were done, we just strolled over to our show with time to spare.
The service was outstanding and for my birthday I was presented a free dessert with carved cantaloupe birds! Really special. The food was good but I love good food and this was tasty but not special. The pea puree with my fish was pretty but bland, which was true of the whole dish.
Looking a gift horse in the mouth is unkind and my Nutella crepe free dessert was prettier than delicious. It was fine, and I'm not sure what would have made it better, maybe more delicate crepes.
Food was good but portions were small. Two small scallops and risotto at $25 was very overpriced. Waitress even commented there should have been at least 3. Also food was taken away without asking if we were finished. Disappointing
My wife and I went there for our Valentine’s Day. Small menu, 25 dollars for risotto and scallops very small portion... my wife was not happy with her fish and we ended up going to enoteca to finish our meal. 55 bucks and we did not get enough to eat!!
Very delicious food. Great ambiance and really good service. I'll be back.
I requested a 6pm reservation- open table didn’t have that option so I took an earlier option. When we got there at 5/30 we were the only people there. We took our seat and ordered a glass of wine and a beer for hubby and asked what time happy hour ended which we learned was only for people eating at the bar. Since we had a lot of time before our show at Zach across the street we were in no rush. By 6:30 only one other table was filled. We ordered the champagne salad to share and the vegetable napoleon for me the scallop risotto for hubby. The salad was refreshing and tasty but very small. The napoleon was just ok needed more flavor and the risotto was floating in oil and way too rich for our taste. We spoke with the manager about the reservation mix up so they don’t miss out on possible diners and about the risotto. All in all we will probably think twice before going back even if we have tickets at Zach
Valentine’ s menu. Attention to detail, food was presented in creative ways! Staff was cordial and came around the right amount of times😉
The only thing I didn’t like was that my boyfriend and I choose Flour and Vine for our valentine’s date place because we love the food there and wanted our favorite meals. But when we got there it was a small set menu for the night with nothing he or I would have choose for the night since we were so excited for our fav meal there. It was still great but it should have said on the website that the menu would be different for Valentine’s Day. It was very disappointing!
We went there on Valentine's Day before attending a play next door. They were serving a special 4 course menu. Everything was excellent! Also, they made amazing fruit art for display just for Valentine's Day. We would like to experience their regular menu soon.
The Valentine Day dinner was the best we have had here. The kitchen and the staff bent over backwards to ensure that the food and the experience were exceptional. A very nice evening!
We had a fantastic brunch here last Sunday. I've been before and it's always been wonderful, just never for brunch. This was a great experience. The staff were very attentive and the chef was wonderful. We will be back!
Italian food, well prepared, served mostly promptly. We really liked the calamari. We each ordered a salad and then shared a pasta dish before we went to our program at the Long Center.
The wine list was also nice. Waiter was knowlegable about the wine list and steered us to a good value.
We come have here before every Zach show for several years. Very disappointed in the new menu. Big expensive bowl of risotto with two small scallops. Really salty. Shrimp and Grits, which was always popular when we were there, is missing along with 5 other of our favorites. Will probably try some place else next time. In addition, they have stopped the partnership with Zach for the free appetizer per table for those with show tickets.
Miss the shrimp and grits but new menu good
Terrible experience. Four of us had reservations for dinner. Seated promptly but after waiting 35 minutes and still not getting the drinks or appetizers that we ordered, we left. Will never go back!
They were short handed on a Friday so service was a bit off. However they were very nice and apologetic about it. Food was good and menu interesting.
Well I have to say that we waited forever for our drinks even the second time around. Ran out of water a few times. The food was good but for the price we expected a lot more . The meatballs were plain and no bread was served with any of the meals. Seems like people going to the Zach theater were attending . Shortly after that everyone vanished. Mainly groups were dinning. Our birthday boy wasn't taken care of and his drink ran low many times. Probably never going back. The flour and vine appetizer was probably the only thing we were impressed. Fra Diavolo and my Taglatia were tasty. Meatball and spaghetti not so much.
they recently changed the menu and it was welcome . We dine there before Zach plays on numerous occasions, they are always sensitive to our timing.
Off night for them. I brought in a party of 12. Service was slow. My pasta dish was tepid on arrival. Others enjoyed their orders. I was hosting the dinner and they asked my guests about splitting the check.
Very nice and not too pricey. Food and service were great!
The food was absolutely delicious; the service, attentive as usual. Flour & Vine is our favorite for pre-theatre and pre-concert dining.
We found the service excellent and the food was a good price but very small portions and not great quality. Edible certainly but if you're looking for exceptional food this is not the place for you. I ordered the filet and lobster (which was an excellent price) but I found out why the price was so low. I'd never seen a lobster tail that small. Steak was very good. My wife's salmon was very over cooked and had to be sent back. The second attempt was much better.
We brought a large party in for a business dinner, and the whole evening was a win! The food, the service and the atmosphere were all excellent! We will definitely go again.
Wonderful location, beautiful resturant and staff. Fantastic food! Sunday bunch before special occasion at Long Center.
The concept is nice, but the execution is feeble.
Poor service and long waits despite 4 servers casually resting behind the bar. Our server was also inept at opening a wine bottle.
The shrimp appetizer was so muddy it buried the rest of our meal.
Brie appetizer was decent.
when we booked for NY eve, did not realize that it would be such a limited dinner menu. Only one dessert. We went early and the restaurant was empty but we still felt we were being rushed out when no one appeared to be coming in..
Great food and location before the Zach Theatre. Service was very attentive too.
While the food was good, I was disappointed by the service. I would have expected much better at a place like this.
The service was terrible and, because we were a party of 6, the waiter added 20% gratuity to our check. I can only assume he knew he'd be doing that from the beginning, because he was incredibly dismissive of us through the entire meal. The food was fine but not remarkable.
I enjoyed my visit! I purchased a half price bottle of wine with the bartenders recommendation. Then later had a lovely dinner. Everyone was friendly and attentive.
All the dishes where fabulous and came out in a timely manner. The service was a bit spotty. The women who served us was nice and seemed professional but the cheese plate came out before the drinks and we had to ask for side plates (someone other then the waitress brought it out). There was a large table in the room and the voice level was too loud, but when they left it was much better. For the noise level alone, I wouldn't go here on a Fri or Sat night, (we came on a Weds) as I am sure the noise would be too much.
We found this restaurant on the Zach Theater website, and I was surprised that the restaurant was empty right before the Sunday matinee at the theater. The service was excellent, and the food was very good. The dessert was absolutely amazing. The chef had carved two gorgeous birds out of cantaloupe, and they brought a medley of treats for my mom’s birthday. The chef came out and carved roses out of carrots for all of the women at the table. It was so special and memorable. We’ll be back!
We had a smallish group (5 people) for dinner here and had a great time. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but they had a trio playing music that was a little loud and at times made it tough for us to maintain a conversation. The food was really good, especially the shareable appetizers.
We regularly eat there before going to the Zach. Great place.
Visited for a dual birthday celebration. The waiter Dustin was fantastic. Appetizer came out far too fast - fast enough that you wonder how it was even cooked that quickly. Chicken in the pasta was slightly overcooked for very flavourful. The steak was seemingly salted on one side but the plating was beautiful. Drinks were great and the liquor was not held back. Perfect.
The courtesy bread was stale - live music was a great touch but noisy kids running around were an annoyance (not the restaurants fault!). The dessert was complimentary for our birthdays and they went above and beyond carving out wonderful birds from cantaloupe. Really salvaged the night!
Consistently great food and SO convenient to the theatre.
