Floga bistro Ratings and Reviews
Good food, great price, and wonderful service. We took our mother for her 91st birthday, and staff was very helpful at making it nice for her. The only problem was the crowded nature of the place and the noise. It was full of people at 6:00 on a Saturday night -- an indicator of how good it is -- and the noise level was a bit high for an old lady.
Floga is a traditional style family restaurant, largely Italian menu, and with some good Greek touches.
Chef knows what he’s doing as far as grilling and roasting: perfect salmon medium rare. Oddly paired with a baked potato (change to pasta or rice if you can). Veg just right. Top ingredients in the Greek inspired dishes. Generous portions. It’s a family place so try not to go Saturday at 7. BYOB. Very small glasses. Stay away from awful calamari.
I'm in the lighting business, and the pendants over the tables were totally disgusting, covered in dust, with a little bit of effort they can be cleaned and should be cleaned at least once a month. They probably looked spectacular when first installed. The windows need covering, looking out into an ugly "mall-type" parking lot has no ambiance, and the flush mount over sized LED ceiling packs were horrible. There were recessed lights inside, but the owner probably felt that the expense of a dimmer was too much, again, another lost opportunity for some ambiance, especially if you add a rechargeable LED candle to each table.
The food: Too much dressing on our salad. My wife called it; "The bread basket tasted like the pizza crust...eeeh" My wife and I don't drink alcohol, so having an upsell drink like fresh squeezed lemonade, or other specialty drink would have helped.
The service: Our waiter was super fast, like he had other plans once the place closed. We told him we would split a salad, so he brought it out in one bowl, we used the bread plate but then had to ask for new plates when the "ho-hum" pizza arrived.
Love Floga for a delicious, relaxing meal to catch up with friends. It's BYOB, and all their dishes are reasonably priced. Always get great service and nearly always have some leftovers to take home. They deliver locally, too, so it's a great alternative on a rainy evening when you just don't feel like cooking or even going out for takeout.
We invited another couple to dine with us because we had gotten rave reviews from people who dine out often. My husband's meal (chicken athena) was very flavorful. My selection (scallops and shrimp over pasta) had zero flavor except for the olive oil the food was swimming in. Sadly, one of our friends ordered the same dish as mine. Would recommend you go to this restaurant, but make sure rather than asking the top sellers on the menu, ask for the most flavorful, unless you like bland.
First time at Floga. Classic Italian dishes. Excellent pizza- handmade crust. Homemade meatballs. Most everything I would rate above average. One negative was that the pollo parmigiana was severely overcooked. Their Italian gravy tastes homemade and is quite good.
Great experience! Server was excellent:appropriately attentive, anticipated our needs, including bringing me oil without cheese because I mentioned my dairy allergy. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. Definitely going again.
Floga Bistro is a BYOB with lots of energy and decent Italian food. We had the penne pasta, upgraded to wheat for a charge. Meatballs were good, chicken parmesan was good, gravy was decent -- pasta tasted like same old box pasta I can buy for a buck at the grocery store. Waitress was efficient but not very friendly and did not go out of her way for anything. Very nice vibe and great place for conversation. Casual dress and fast service. Worth a visit as prices are decent. Had a Groupon which made it worth the trip.
Our waiter, Neil was very friendly and knew the menu well. The food is always fresh and prepared and presented well. The specials change frequently and never disappoint. We had a group of 7 and everything came out together, which doesn't always happen at some restaurants.
Floga is a great restaurant for reasonably priced, yummy family dining. I love their pizzas! My picky kids all find stuff they like on the menu. My favorite pizza is the Mediterranean veggie one - my only suggestion to make it better would be to peel the eggplant (the skin is hard to chew). I would definitely recommend Floga! It's also a great restaurant to get together with extended family or friends.
