Flint Ratings and Reviews
The host made a big deal about us wanting a booth, but not having made that specific request in our reservation. There were a few seats open, and they made it clear to us that we had not specified a booth, told us what we noted on our reservation, and then moved us to a booth. It's as if they were trying to make us feel bad for wanting a booth. Very unprofessional. The food was great though and so was our waitress.
The space is gorgeous and contemporary. Love the long fireplace that separates the upper side of the restaurant. We sat in the back towards hotel entrance by request, and it was still a fun view to watch people coming into the hotel. The fried green tomatoes with deviled crab starter was EXCELLENT. I had a turkey burger that was just meh. It was actually served barely warm and that may have been the turn off for me, but also thought the shoestring potatoes were weird. They were also served lukewarm and were super crunchy. They were not like French fries which I thought it was going to be. Mom had the jumbo shrimp with andouille sausage and grits. She thought it was good. We shared the Bourbon cake. It was very moist, but if you've ever had Whiskey Cake's version, it pales in comparison. Overall, I think it's worth a visit.
Terrible experience. Table wasn’t ready and took 40 minutes just to get a round of drinks. You could tell they had been sitting at the bar for 10 minutes. We tabbed out and left. No manager or anyone that had a clue what they were doing. I can’t believe this restaurant is run so poorly being in the Colcord.
We most recently dined at Flint to celebrate my wife's birthday and enjoyed the experience tremendously.
The food was prepared and presented perfectly, the chef visiting our table to elicit feedback.
Our waitstaff, Callie and Kevin, were attentive and efficient. They added to our enjoyment of the experience. We'll be sure to ask for them when we next dine there.
The manager, Nicholas, was most gracious and hospitable.
Flint is now at the top of our special occasion dining locations.
Had a good business meal at Flint. Would have been great but our server was stretched a little thin. Beautiful restaurant and great food, prices are not bad either. I had the brisket tacos and my guest had the catfish, both excellent with nice portions. I often bring business guests here and it’s always a nice experience.
We used open table for a 5:30 request. Returned not available but 5:15 was. Only three whole tables occupied upon our arrival and during entire meal. Waitress not attentive and once we had to go find her to request another drink. Food took a long time and we received no updates from server. Food was just ok, nothing spectacular for the price. Do not plan on returning
We love Flint! The food is always good and the staff are so friendly. Our server, Destiny was delightful and willing to do what ever it took for us to enjoy our meals. We appreciate the valet service that is provided when we attend a show at the Civic Center!
Disappointing. Subpar service. Server came back 2x to confirm order content, still brought out incorrect meal. Waited 10m for correct meal while company ate. When served, was missing side portion of order + another 5m , for toast. Part of the dining experience is being able to eat together. Once finished, had 10m wait for bill after server confirmed we were not staying in hotel. Manager Ann had to observe our displeasure with wait. Food quality was slightly above average. Not consistent with previous dining experiences with Flint, but will likely leave me finding other options in the future.
We had problems from the time we booked our reservation. We asked for a table close to the Botanical Garden but were seated on the opposite side. We asked for a better table and the hostess admitted to not looking at the special request on the reservation. The service was forgetful and slow. The charcuterie board was great and so was the beet and goat cheese salad. The pork shank was tough and the grits had no flavor. It was taken off of our ticket, thankfully. The server brought us a carrot cake dessert as an apology for the main course but it wasn’t great. We’re not sure why she didn’t let us choose dessert? This was our third visit and last.
The food was phenomenal and the restaurant was lovely. The hostess who seated us was very friendly. The service started a little rocky. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to return and take our order. She also seemed a bit grumpy. However, when the very loud, demanding, large group at the table next to us left, she became much more cheerful. She got us a free dessert because it was our anniversary which was really nice.
This is a great place to eat before a Thunder game. You can make reservations ahead of time and then walk a block to the arena. We've done this several times in the last three weeks and it works well--except the last time, it took a long time for our food to arrive. Our reservations were at 5:30 and we barely made it to the 7 p.m. game in time for the tip-off. The restaurant was not that full at 5:30, so I'm not sure why the delay. Otherwise, things have been great. Food is wonderful.
My husband ordered the catfish and it was very greasy. My friend order the mushroom burger without the sauce and they put sauce on it. I ordered the burger without the cheese and they put cheese on it. Manager was asked to come over and he didn't do much at all no discount on the food or a free drink, NOTHING. The manager looked to be 20 years old. We've always had pretty good service and food but the food was not good. The server was very good but not the manager.
Was problematic the moment we sat down. We were offered the "quick menu" when we sat down and ordered. As we waited for our food, we noticed other tables were getting other menus which we thought was quite odd. When our food arrived, somehow a "dinner menu" item found its way to our table. When we questioned the waitress, she stated that's what we had ordered despite never being presented with that menu. During this entire ordeal, silverware never made its way to our table. Disappointing experience.
The service was slow. The flavor on the food was weird (who puts salsa on salmon and serves it grits?). I was expecting a chunky, pico like salsa, but it the salsa served with it covered the whole fish! Also, the meal was like mixing southern comfort food with Mexican food? My husband ordered the chicken entree and it was covered in terrible bbq sauce that ruined the whole dish.
Took the family to Flint for my 28th wedding anniversary. Getting a table for 5 was not difficult at all. The server, Kevin, was very good and attentive. Serving sizes were small, even though the food quality was excellent. Two of the dishes arrived were luke warm, but was quickly remedied. Overall, good experience. I did recommend they have a coat check. In winter, bulky coats need to not be piled on benches or chairs.
We were gifted a night at the Colcord and decided to try Flint since it was connected. I am the type to check out the full menu before ever walking in the door, but after arriving opted for the feature swordfish. It blew my expectations out of the water. So much flavor! Our waiter Daniel was fantastic, from wine selections to conversation, he defintely did not disappoint. My husband I and will recommend Flint to friends and family!
Overall, our experience was pleasant. The ambiance was nice for a get together lunch. That said, one wonders, at a quiet time of day when there were few customers, why our food arrived cold. We had ordered appetizers and had barely started on them when our meals were served. I was shocked to realize that all the food was room temperature. Since I like my food served hot, it was a disappointment. Food was well seasoned and would have rated an excellent had it not been cold.
Though we have had good experiences here previously, we did not have a good experience. We waited for 20 minutes for someone to greet us and take our drink order. The food was not good. There was pieces of cork in my wine. We will not be eating here again which is a shame, used to do a majority of our business dinners here.
