Little gem on Smith street, Fitzroy. All food cooked over fire. Had my usual special porterhouse, wonderful flavours, char and so tender. It’s a big sharing steak - but I only share with myself😊 I also get the flame grilled bread and bone marrow butter as an entre. Yum! My steak is accompanied by some charred pickled cabbage and a wonderful light labneh (yogurt). I also get the signature dish - Carot carrot which is unique and flavoursome. Beautiful ambiance, and music, and light filled just enough so it’s not to dark. Drinks are very reasonably priced and staff are perfect blend of attentive and easy going. The chef is a real cracker and a ball of fire - you’ll hear her burst out in laughter regularly, but she does a fantastic job - all over flame. 🔥🔥🔥

Casual dinner with business associates, great service with a smile and made us feel welcome. Seeing the chef work in the kitchen while we were eating created nice atmosphere. Had a chat to chef at end of dinner and discuss the meals served was nice way to finish and feel connected. Loved the grill and the meat was awesome and well presented on the plate. Coupled with a good selection of wine. Would recommend if you like grilled meats.

An unforgettable dining experience where every dish was masterfully cooked over fire, bursting with flavour and charm. My 13yo son summed it up perfectly: “The atmosphere is moody and the hosts charismatic.” A true feast for the senses!

We had an exceptional dining experience at Flint a couple of evenings ago and I can't rate this restaurant highly enough. Everything was delicious...imaginatively created, beautifully prepared and presented, and then joyously served. Even our cocktails were creative and delicious! Owner and chef Nicki has created a gem and her personal touch to all the food is beyond special. Luke – as greeter, menu advisor, cocktail creator, wine consultant and table waiter – was friendly and helpful, sufficiently attentive without being overly present. The whole evening was an experience, one we were in no hurry to conclude. Flint is a restaurant you want to savour and is outstanding value for money.
