Flint by Baltaire
Enjoy seasonal menus brimming vibrant, smoky flavors and farm-fresh ingredients, including shareable dips and spreads paired with freshly wood fired pizzas and pita bread, whole-roasted chicken carved tableside, and irresistible desserts such as Basque-style cheesecake.
Housed inside an elegant, modern two-story space overlooking the Biltmore area, FLINT by Baltaire offers a main dining room, bar and lounge, al fresco dining patio, and private dining room options.
Great service, good location, fantastic food.
The food was wonderful and the setting is quite attractive. Without valet parking in front, it is somewhat difficult to get to.
Dinner was excellent. Great food and ambiance. Would return for a nice celebratory dinner.
Food was very good with plays on spice unique to options in the area. Roast chicken was perhaps best I ever had. Unfortunately, noise level was too much; hard to hear our companions across the table given the din of the room.
Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. I've passed it along to our design team to see what we can do to make our acoustics more appealing. I'd have to agree with you -- the chicken (that skin) is the most amazing thing! Definitely one of my favorite dishes! Have a great day, Alyssa P.
Loved everything about Flint accept the noise level. The three of us at my table had to move closer just to hear each other. A few modifications to the interiors could easily fix this.
Overall, very nice place, love the open roof/floor plan of the building. Plates are smaller/tapas style unless you opt for a large plate or pizza. Everyone I was with said their food was good.
Flint by Baltaire is an excellent site for a business lunch, special occasion dinner or happy hour, any occasion. The atmosphere, food and service are all great!
Loved the atmosphere, service was good and for the most part the food was tasty. Only issues were the steak was under seasoned and the artichoke still had the choke fibers left after it had been halved and grilled but the octopus was perfectly cooked and the texture was on point.
Fabulous fare .. Different flavors and combinations. Great staff .. really fun environment. Highly recommend you try it!
Food was good. Lots of options for gluten free. Service was mixed. Took a while to be served and one dish was forgotten but server was friendly. The enclosed patio is going to need some help as all of us in that area were eating with our coats on.
Nice new restaurant
If you don't want to hear yourself or talk to whomever you came without yelling - may be that the food is good enough. Otherwise, look for another place. The food is quite good - hummus and dips are innovative. Grilled Spanish octopus and tuna crudo were very good as was the corn side and the cauliflower. We asked for a quieter table but the host said it would become quieter after happy hour was over. The hard wood floods and sleek interior unfortunately bounce sound all over. Too bad, because the food is pretty good.
The food was delicious, but our server wasn't very helpful. It seemed she forgot about our table throughout the night because we had to ask other servers for assistance. I would come back again for the food in a heartbeat!
Amazing food. Excellent service. Couldn’t have asked for a better date night.
Have been several times and food has not disappointed... service a little spotty but overall really enjoyed and will be back.
This will be a great place once they work out the kinks. The staff is under trained, not polished. Our sever was very young, not versed in bar selections, didn’t know several basic things (such as gelato flavors). Although we mentioned we had a show to go, she lost track of our timing when they got busy. The other staff was almost timid table side. The menu very nice, but some of the flavors promised they really held back on. It’s a really nice room, albeit loud, and a great place for business lunch. Lastly, not having a non alcoholic beer available (assuming our server was correct) is inexcusable in a restaurant of this type. We’ll try again in a few months to see how they are doing.
Had an amazing experience at Flint. Our server Thomas was wonderful. He took the time to explain everything and was a wealth of knowledge. The food was amazing! We will definitely be back!
Celebrating a birthday, 3 generations met to at Flint. The next 2 hours seemed like 4 hours as we waited, and waited for our server to return. Either to take an order, bring drinks or food......endless. The din was deafening, we couldn't hear ourselves think. The food was mediocre at best, the worst parts only magnified by the fact that the restaurant was at least 6 employees short. Wine glasses remained on the table, empty plates piled up and drink glasses remained not filled. The manager wandered around with empty apologies for delayed drinks and food. If employees are paid a livable wage they will remain. The birthday was ruined. Shame. Shame, on you.
Nice experience. Happy to have them in the rotation
What a wonderful new addition to the Esplanade! The Flint has a beautiful, classy decor. The menu and cocktail choices are numerous and creative. The service and food are both excellent.
Nice ambiance. Great menu and food is tasty. Service was very good also.
This restaurant has a lot of potential.
Management needs to be aware that
Excellent food. Creative menu. Beautiful atmosphere.
Excellent new spot th
Excellent food and excellent service. I hope this place can finally liven up the esplanade.
Arriving at Flint, my wife was immediately impressed with the beautiful Decour. The white stuff was welcoming, but professional. The wine list was extensive, and included numerous by-the-glass options.
First, we enjoyed what was probably the best olive tapenade we have ever had, which was accompanied by a light, steaming hot piece of pita bread street from the woodfired oven.
As our next selection, we enjoyed hey octopus dish which included likely the tenderest octopus either of us ever had paired with an incredible medley of grilled red peppers, pinenuts, almonds, cilantro, and other ingredients.
The waitress arrived with a complementary serving of the beet tartare., Again accompanied by a delicious loaf of fresh made bread. While I am not personally a fan of beets, my wife is, and she thoroughly enjoyed the dish.
While my marinated filet skewers were merely solid, my wife had the lamb chops, which were perfectly cooked and not over spiced, paired with a simple hummus. She declared it to be the best lamb dish she has ever had.
A perfect meal to end a wonderful trip to Arizona.
The best flame roasted chicken we've ever had. Sides were delicious. Service excellent. Just a tad too noisy, needs better acoustics.
We went to dinner at Flint last Saturday night for my wife's birthday and we had a table for seven people and the entire experience was near perfect. Flint is such a nice space comfortable and chic. There is music playing, but it is completely unobtrusive so conversation is easy. The menu is excellent because relatively speaking, there are only a limited number of selections, but all enticing. Everything that our table ordered was delicious. Our server, Rowena, took very good care of us, and we left completely satisfied.
Giving it the benefit of the doubt but service is utterly overmatched. Even at 8:45 PM we were sat 20 mins late and then waited another 10 for a server. The server herself was great, but the management was so poorly connected that it was a cluster... food ranges the spectrum from average to great, but it’s solid enough to go back and give another chance soon... overall if your in the area this isn’t the best. The Gladly and Hillstone are both significantly better. But nice to have another spot in the area.
Food & service were excellent and loved the open air dining room. Only downfall was waiting 45 minutes for a reservation.
I realize that it's a newer restaurant, so I expect some growing pains. But to have a reservation and be told that the "chef has told us to stop seating people", did not sit well with me (pun intended). My wife and I had a 7:45pm reservation and were not seated until 8:35pm. I stopped drinking some time ago, so sitting around for close to an hour without a cocktail defeated the purpose of having a reservation. We received no apology, no consideration otherwise (offer me dessert, an appetizer, or at least an acknowledgement or apology). Maybe the manager or somebody should have come to the table and appreciated that my wife and I spent $186 (and I don't drink). Otherwise, our waiter, Trent, was pleasant and otherwise attentive. My wife and I are very regular restaurant patrons (we were recognized by name by another server from being regulars at Hillstone across the street, and my wife was waited on by our waiter Trent the very next night at another restaurant), so this experience should be more disappointing to ownership and management for the loss of what would likely be very regular customers. Two stars is accurate.
Delicious grilled Mediterranean style food with small plate and regular menu options. Great for groups to share.
This restaurant is a great add to the camelback corridor for lunch, happy hour, or dinner! There are a lot of healthy fresh choices and the wood fired cooking comes through in many of the options. The short rib hummus is unique and excellent. Good menu for sharing. It’s nice to have something different in the area with high quality Mediterranean style foods as well as top shelf steak and fish at a reasonable price point. Flint is becoming a regular stop for us. The patio seating is awesome.
Birthday excellent service
Absolutely excellent! Food was GREAT - two colleagues had pizza, I had the pulled chicken flatbread. And the doughnuts/mousse dessert - incredible. I will come back again and again and again, bringing friends and business associates with me. I'm a foody - this was a wonderful experience and so needed in the valley. Great service by all staff. Complimentary valet worked too. Well done and welcome to Phoenix!!!
Excellent food and service need to fix noise
Very noise, unacceptable. Food is nothing special, bland kabobs. Filet over cooked. Pizza crust better than the single small pita bread they serve. Looks like pita bread bust does not have the right texture. Many other places serve a better pizza. Quinoa tabbouleh is like eating cardboard, probably better with bulgur.
Good food, great wine and fabulous service. We can't wait to go back.
Hopeful for the success of this new restaurant. Great concept. However service was very slow especially for a small lunch crowd. Loud music couldn’t revive the sleepy, ambivalent staff... we will return for happy hour at the bar and look forward to faster, more attentive service and energetic atmosphere.
