This actual is a review of the New Year's Eve dinner at Hult's (it's last night). Food was a set menu--set selection from the standard menu. Service was great. Hope many of the waiters from Hult's also work at Flights. Sat in back corner of the back dining room. Way too dark and low ceiling made it hard to talk. Good luck to Alex for his new venture and I look forward to trying it after it opens.

As Hult's is going away to be replaced by Flights, this review isn't meaningful in some respects. In any event, after the disaster of Thanksgiving (well chronicled on Open Table), which dropped Hult's rating noticeably, I was really happy that everything was in good order for Xmas eve dinner. Food was the standard fare, but delicious. Service was prompt and attentive. Everything went well and thanks Hult's for a memorable dining event. Look forward to going back 1-2 more times before Hult's is no more.

We’ve been to Hult’s in the past and liked it. Unfortunately this experience made us leave before eating! The wine list only had 1 Chardonnay by the glass, a budget label they wanted $12 for. Not what we are used to. Something must have been wrong with the exhaust hood in the kitchen b/c the restaurant filled with smoke twice in the 25 minutes we were there. The front and side doors were open despite the 35 degree weather. Then the waitress only came by our table once, we weren’t quite ready to order yet. She didn’t come back. After 20 minutes waiting, we left and walked to another spot with a great wine list and service.

We're really going to miss Hult's. I'm sure the new format will be great, but the classy, special occasion atmosphere was a lot influenced our choice. No question the food is great too. Both of us had a wonderful meal with fine service.

Hult's has a pleasant ambiance, nice Christmas decorations. However, the food left a lot to be desired. Paying a hefty price for delicious food is one thing, but we left not satisfied with the quality of the food. Service could have been more attentive as well. We won't be back for dinner, but maybe happy hour.

Food did not come out over an hour after reservation, we had to ask and rush our food. Restaurant claimed that there was a big party, but kitchen should be able to accommodate that. We ordered a few more items after we were served and those entrees came out within 10 minutes! Makes you wonder... Food was descent, short rib was dry, fish smelled like it was about to be spoiled (returned), pork belly was salty, Elk was delicious as well as the dessert. Overall, it was good to try but I would not come back.

We had an early Christmas celebration and wanted a restaurant with an "order off the menu" brunch and their selections were perfect for our group! We even enjoyed their bottomless Mimosas!!!

We've eaten at Hult's many times. Alexander Hult is the reason we keep returning. He is changing the restaurant over to Flights in January. We came in to have one last gathering before that happens. We wish him well!

Hult's in my favorite restaurant in all of Santa Clara County! I am deeply saddened that it is closing. I consider myself a foodie and expect quality menus. Their food is outstanding!!! I understand that Hult's will re-open as Flights! I like Flight's, too, but will miss the Hult's menu. I am going through withdrawal already and very sad. I, of course, will go to the new restaurant, but feel that Hult's menu was the best in the whole area. Thank you to the Hults and their competent staff for many delicious and memorable dining experiences!!!

I will be sad to Hult's go but looking forward to it becoming Flights. I am sure they are downsizing their staff and that was why there was a 40 minute wait for food. But I must say when it arrived it was yummy.

I made the reservation for a birthday brunch. The restaurant had many open tables. It was not busy at all. We had to wait over an hour for our food (an hour and ten minutes to get all plates for 6 people) to where all of the guests commented on it, while I was hoping they would notice. The food was mediocre and almost all of the plates were baking hot, making us think most of the food had sat under a heat lamp long after it was done. Many tables who came in after us had their food before us. The server did not come by once to assure us the food would be out shortly. I understand mistakes happen so just an assurance that our food would be out soon would've been nice instead of us sitting there wondering what had happened. Then we had to wait 15 minutes after requesting the check to finally get it. No mention by wait staff of the birthday. Very disappointed. I know the restaurant is closing, but the current clientele deserve more than that, especially for the price.

I went to Hult's for me and my girlfriend's anniversary. We had the tasting menu which is now $85 / person (the price wasn't written on their site and I had to ask). The food was really good, everything is what you would expect when paying so much for a meal. A lot of interesting takes, and a few surprises mixed into what you would normally expect. Such as macadamia nuts in ahi tuna poke, and the duchesse potato with the filet mignon. I think our favorite dishes were the scallop and pecan ravioli. The portions were what you would expect from fine dining, but the filet mignon at the end was quite filling.

The drinks were good for the most part although the cocktails were a bit too strong. Service was really good! Our waitress was quite attentive and our waters were constantly filled as well. I would go back again, but for it's price it would definitely be for a very special occasions and not just for date night.

Note: The washroom is quite accessible for anyone with those concerns, although the tables were a tad cramped.

We were at Hult's for Thanksgiving - as were many, many others. In fact, the place was overbooked, and they had to turn people (with reservations) away. I suspect the overbooking may not be their fault - perhaps the high demand from several different booking sites, such as Open Table, couldn't manage. Unfortunately, all the blame fell on the poor people at the restaurant, although they did everything in their power to accomodate as many as they could. They ran out of items on their menu, and therefore offered what they did have at half price. We gladly accepted, and everything was delicious. We really appreciated how hard they worked to make the evening a treat for everyone despite the circumstances, and we made sure to give the waiter a nice tip. We've been at Hult's several times before, and the food is always so delicious. We have two people with Celiac disease in the family, and we really appreciate the gluten free options. We will certainly be back!

Went for Thanksgiving 3course meal and they were out of most items. The owner took upon himself to allow the people with no reservations to also dine which depleted all the foods for people that had reservations. An nice dinner turned into a miserable dinner as most of the items were out.
