Flight Wine Bar
Flight is an intimate wine bar in the historic Chinatown neighborhood of DC. The award-winning wine list is curated by husband and wife duo and sommeliers, Kabir Amir and Swati Bose. The globally-diverse wine list is paired with a small seasonal dinner menu. Friendly and knowledgeable staff make the experience delightful.
Menus can be perused on the Flight website. Reservations are recommended but walk-ins are welcome.
Valentines Day - excellent 4 course dinner with wine pairings. Our service was excellent too. I always enjoy the vibe of the place and have a great time.
Unique food and nice choices of wines. Highly recommended!
I come here all the time for a quick glass of wine and it is always an exceptional experience. Fiona waits on me regularly and she is exceptional.
It was a new experience and loved all of it! The food, the wine, the look! 10/10 would go again
Staff is fantastic!!!
Flight is one of the best wine bars on the East coast. I fear leaving too positive a review because I won't be able to get a table but I can't stop recommending this amazing place.
This restaurant and wine bar was just what the doctor ordered while on a weekend getaway. The staff was amazing, did fantastic and the wine on point. Will definitely go again on any return trip to DC.
We went for NYE 2019 and the prex-fixe dinner with wine pairing. The service was outstanding but the food was overall pretty bland (except for the crispy Kale salad, which was delish) and the wine pairings were just ok (but loved the woman/sisterhood theme). Overall, likely won’t be back but the service/staff made it a fun dinner overall.
Flights of 3 wines to pair with tapas type food or an entree. We ordered a red flight and a white flight. Both were outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. She explained how the menu and wine flights worked. We ordered crispy potatoes--a small plate--and husband ordered flank steak with scrumptious roasted brussells sprouts. I ordered chicken. Both entrees were good but the brussells sprouts and crispy potatoes were great. Very elegant spot and it is in an interesting area right in Chinatown across from a very popular noodle shop. It added to the experience. Highly recommended.
We made a last minute reservation note with pre ordered food (including allergy requests) before seeing a concert at the Arena since we were very tight on time. The food was out almost immediately! Fiona was so attentive despite the restaurant being totally packed! Another person stepped in and took another order from us within seconds of our putting our menus down. Great attention to detail and honest communication about timing and menu details. Fiona, and the rest of the staff, were amazing!
This place is NOT a fine dining restaurant. Cramped tables, no tablecloths, uncomfortable chairs, no coat check, SMALL venue. Top that off with only four entree options, $8 for three small meatballs as an appetizer, and a nasty server and you get a one star rating. We made the most of it. At least they cooked the entrees properly and to order. Wine flights served in high ball glasses so you can get one stem to pour them into sequentially or... I guess slosh them all together! Expensive evening. $280 including tip for four people. We won’t be back. Ever.
Great wine bar. But the fact that they use water glasses to serve the wines is inexplicable to me. You can’t smell them or swirl at all. It mostly cancels out the wines. So while they have good stuff and the staff is great, it’s largely moot because of the glasses.
I've already planned a return trip w the girls. This is a gem of a spot, with great wines, food and the team working there is the most fun and informative. HIGHLY recommend it for date night, casual business mtgs/happy hour and girls' night!
Fantastic variety of interesting wine flights in a great environment. Food options lack quality one would expect from a wine bar at this price point.
Great ambience and delicious food. Service was fast and welcoming. We enjoyed sitting at the bar for flights. Will go back whenever in DC again!
Great service. Very noisy.
First time visitor and it was our date night! The food was great, the wine selection was massive, and we had a great server who was attentive and courteous. Thank you Flight for a great date night setting and service, we will definitely be back.
We had an amazing time at Flight. Our server Jessica provided some great flight suggestions of the chilled reds and the GSM flight. Our table got the charcuterie board (nice selection for $14!) and some burrata and sweet potatoes. The food complemented the wine perfectly!
Food is excellent, expect dessert. This place is a gem. Beautiful wine, terrific food and fantastic atmosphere. Superb wines.
Lovely! 22 flights to pick from for $15 during HH. Great bar snacks for HH too. Second time here for a after work date night. Service is nice and helpful. Cozy bar setting.
Flight is such a go-to place for me that I'm hesitant to leave a good review for fear the masses will overrun it. Fantastic wines, amazing service and excellent food. It's perfect for a drink before a show or a lively date.
What a wonderful evening connecting with out of town friends! Flight’s central location near the red and yellow lines made is good choice to gather a our small group. We enjoyed interesting new wines - thanks to the knowledgeable staff - including one of the owners who personally helped us pick a few things to try. For nibbles, we had an excellently prepared octopus (which is not to be missed) and the grilled vegetable platter. The crispy fingerling potatoes were certainly a highlight. I’ll be back for sure!
Great service and wonderful wine selection. Food options are limited although yummy. The focus is on good wine.
First time there and absolutely loved everything about it would definitely go back. Staff is super helpful answering any questions you may have
We hosted a book club for 6-7 people and it was perfect since most people just wanted snacks and a glass!
The wine selections were great and to top it off they had flights for $15 during HH. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good, incredible octopus!
Wife and I enjoyed our experience
Wonderful service and food
If you like wine, enjoy wine, want to learn about wine this place is fabulous. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. A full book of flights and wines by the glass to choose from. And another full book of wines by the bottle. Obscure ones to try, we enjoyed it so much we went back the next day!
Amazing food and wine selection. We went here with an old friend who is into wine. They have 30 or 40 wine selections by the glass offering a few which we recognized but also several options that were new to us. We started with two wine flights and then each had a glass. All white wines. Loved them all. Great place if one wants to expand their wine knowledge with smaller menu but great food.
This feels like a secret find. We loved the chill vibe. A lady walked up and greeted us with a smile. Turns out she was the owner. Our bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. The manager explained the food menu and took our order when the bartender was busy with someone else. The burrata and spicy sausage was delicious with the grilled bread. The roasted vegetables were great instead of a salad. And the braised octopus was the most tender we have had. But the wine list is definitely the star. The flights came with notecards so we could continue to read about them once they were poured. Nerdy list so you have to be open to being challenged or trying new things.
The wine and service were excellent. My only complaint was that the burrata was very expensive--basically two pieces of bread with some spreadable cheese for $14. Barely an appetizer.
Staff really nice! I like the idea of the three wines to try, but even though those are small drinking portions I skipped the white wine since I was afraid the wine would get warm (I like my white pretty chilled). The food was good., but from the looks of website pictures I expected more. Great selection of wines!
Bathroom situation not ideal.
Overall nice place, nice people.
The place is cute and comfortable, however I did not enjoy a single glass of wine (including sampling 2 flights with a friend) and the food was mediocre.
I’ll preface this review to say that I’ve eaten in many restaurants, nice and not-so-nice, around the world. I can’t think of a time when/where I’ve sent food back.
On this occasion, my husband was reluctant to send his chicken back (raw inside), but asked the waitress to have the kitchen check. The waitress, who initially dismissed my husband and said no, it was fine, took it to the chef, and in fact, the chicken was raw. The waitress did not apologize and the manager (who was present) didn’t talk to us at all. The ‘solution’ was 10% off our final bill, which came to $6 off. One would think that a minimum, the chicken dish would have been comped, especially due to the health risk. Because the meal took so long to re-prepare, we were late to our movie.
Never coming back! What a disaster.
A wonderful gem of a place! Girls night out, loved the flights of wine. Perfect location to sit and catch up with friends!
A hidden gem!
Okay to decent wine options and the flights are reasonably priced. However, they serve wine flightd in weird glassware that doesn't allow you to smell the wine. When you buy by the glass, you are offered stemware and can actually get a real taste.
Service was attentive and friendly. However, the food was disappointing. The portions were small and everything was consistently under-seasoned. Moreover, the fried chicken was not crispy.
Not for people who like wine. They serve generally cheap brands at a high premium. Food is mediocre and overpriced and the selection strange. Tourist trap.
