Flavors of India is in Columbia, MD and is one of the more popular for its impressive service and its dedication to modern interpretations of classic Indian cuisine. Dedicated to the use of only the finest ingredients, it is ideal for both lunch and dinner.
The menu selections at the Flavors of India restaurant are quite extensive and include a huge number of vegetarian options, including appetizers, soups and salads. There are also non-vegetarian starters, soups and salads and a long list of South Indian specialties, tandoor dishes, rice options, meat and seafood dishes and freshly made breads. Jain dishes are also available and all meals at the Flavors of India should be finished up with a delicious dessert.
we were looking for a spot for dinner for 5 and I found this restaurant through open table. The restaurant was pretty quiet so we got to talk to the owner. He was super friendly and helpful with picking wine and food. Will definitely be returning when I come back to the area.
Your first impressions are -- What?! Layout of interior leaves you wondering. But sit-down, and order; I don't think you will be disappointed. I'd seen the mixed reviews, and finally decided to give it a try. Very tasty Indian food, full of flavor, rich thick sauces in the dishes we ordered. We did not order spicy hot items, which we usually do at our regular place. Next time we'll kick up the heat a notch and see what that yields. The menu has all the standard items, and many that we'd never seen before. Nice wine list. Maitre d' and servers were attentive yet did not hover. Native Indians were dining, and we saw some ordering items we thought we'd like to try. We asked our Indian friends, so it may be some Dosa next time!
A very large selection of India's finest. The General Manager, Sam, could not have been any kinder and with his stories and laughter, we quickly felt right at home. Excellent!
We went for the lunch buffet. It was good, but wish there were pakoras and pappadam.
Great location friendly atmosphere
Fantastic food and service. This was my third visit, and each trip is more memorable than the last. Our waiter surprised us with an amazing unique family size fruit salad. We never are disappointed.
The best quality food I've had in the area, excellent breads, biryani, chutneys and pakoras. Service was a little spotty, our waiter trainee was hard working and attentive but he outshone the other servers. Strip mall location, with crowds of Indian families outside waiting their turn for a long table. Dinner reservations were a must!
Rude comments on my dress-no I don't wear a tie all the time, and why are expressing this to me anyway. I really knew you crossed the line when you began to give me your opinionated, antiquated, and biased religious opinions. If I were in your country fine, but Sir, that "Is Not The Case". Maybe your restaurant only wants a certain "Clientele" . Geez. A very uncomfortable conversation for a meal my family and I am paying you too!
We recently went there with a group and the food and service were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to find an Indian restaurant of this quality in Columbia.
Placed in bar area and only one other couple being served. not given a choice of seating,. TV's were on and this did not lend itself to a quiet weekday eating out experience. Food was good and spicey which I liked but a little too spicey for my husband. Good wine selection. Brought a cleaning cart to the table to remove dishes which was not necessary and really tackey, however service was friendly and attentive.
