Flavio Ratings and Reviews
Went here for date night with my significant other. The food was great and a reasonable price for DC. The place wasn't packed and the service was attentive but not overbearing. We both got the pastas that are made in house and they were great! We're definitely coming back here again.
We visit Flavio monthly, as the food is good, service better than most and the ambiance is charming. All in all it's a great little place. They could use a little work on the downstairs rest rooms. Being in the basement, they tend to be musty and dank. A bit of improvement here would be a welcome improvement.
The food was cold, the service was terrible and when we asked for coffee the machine was broken so the waiter apologized, then another waiter brought some coffee and it was freezing cold. The restaurant used to be Paper Moon, the place has only changed its name and decor, nothing else. We had a hair in our Calamari, staff did not seem worried. My little boy was also so disappointed. Will not rush back and will not recommend
Our food was good, but the service was really lacking. Our waiter took our order and never appeared again except to deliver the check. He was very attentive to a table of four directly next to us, but never glanced our way or checked on how our entrees turned out. I asked the runner that delivered our food for fresh grated parmesan and he also never returned, so I went to a wait station and asked for it. When I did receive it, it was basically Kraft parmesan cheese scooped by a spoon from a nice bowl. Won't go back and don't recommend it. There are several other great Italian options in Georgetown so it probably explains why we were able to get a table on a Saturday night.
We were in Washington for a three day trip and reserved at Flavio's through Open Table. We had been at its predecessor Paper Moon and had really enjoyed it. Flavio's was even better and we had a blast. Our server was just wonderful! Wow! We'll surely be back next time we're in Washington. As a tour guide myself, I will most definitely recommend it to my customers!
Three of us dined, all dishes were very good - especially salmon with pesto, fantastic! Wine by the glass was very limited in selection. Tiramisu = amazing! The place was packed on a Saturday night. Recommend reservation. Service was acceptable, not bad, but nothing exceptional. Will definitely return, happily recommend this spot!
Food was great.
Waiter was mostly good with the exception of our drinks.
We ordered a martini and it came out with a bug 3 times. She switched to white wine. The server never apologized for the inconvenience nor did he notify a manager to check in with the table.
He seemed a little annoyed and at one point we could see 6 of th wait staff circled around looking for the bug in her drink.
Mostly aloof service as opposed to bad. Just not very in tune with the situation.
We went there on a date before a show at the Kennedy Center. We order the spaghetti Bolognese and it was definitely the best I've ever had!! So delicious!! The owner came over and asked how everything was and we let him know how great the food was and before the check came, our server brought us dessert 'on the house'. Will definitely go there again!
This is our go to simple italian spot in the neighborhood. The food quality is consistently good and service is almost always spot on. There are a few times where we will get put in the back but anytime we are seated with Hansel or Boggi it's excellent. Price wise it's very reasonable for this area and best is you can get in and out in under an hour but you also aren't rushed if you choose to linger.
As for food suggestions, the bruschetta, chicken parm, pizzas and the lemon cake are our favorites.
Dispite the restaurant ambiance and good service, the food was quite basic and nothing over exciting.
Of the three main courses we ordered, the Wild mushroom Ravioli was the best of the three. The Alaskan salmon was overcooked, and not served with orzo per menu. The Lobster diabolo was not as tasty as expected, and our calamari appetizer was quite basic.
This was a B-day celebration so the free dessert and firework sparkler was quite appreciated.
The food was really good! And we really liked that our waitress knew the menu and could recommend some special dishes. The only issue we had was there seemed to be a lot of mosquitos and little knacks flying around our table. I don't know if it was due to there being a bus boy stand near our table or due to the restaurant having the doors/Windows opeb but it was pretty annoying being that it wasn't even night time yet. Maybe the my should put some cidenlla candles around to help.
The servers recommendations were excellent, mushroom ravioli, lobster diavolo and the caprese salad. All were well prepared and hot. The bread was very good as well. They gave us a desert for our anniversary and the tiramisu was one of the best we have had. We would definitely come back if in DC.
I went today for lunch with my family. I was not felling well. The man who attend us was SO KIND. The food was very very good but the man was extremely kindness. I am so grateful with that man who gave me a headache pill and a cup of warm water, that as he told me it will be good for my headache. I wish there were more people like him. Thank him a lot!
Good food. Especially the desserts. The tiramisu is awesome. It was very loud and bustling on the Saturday night we were there. Waiters were very kind, but seemed to busy to be extremely attentive. All in all, though, it was a fun experience. I would go again.
Great restaurant in the heart of Georgetown. The food is delicious and the menu broad and diverse. The service was impeccable! Deserts were awesome and the pasta dishes expertly prepared and attractively served. A great addition to the Georgetown food options.
