Great atmosphere. Amazing food and service. Definitely a must!
Loved sitting upstairs it was fun
I was surprised to find a two $ restaurant in Georgetown, but after eating at Flavio I understand why. Imagine and Olive Garden with a fancy interior but without unlimited salad and breadsticks.
We had a lovely time! Our server, Danny, is wonderful. He takes excellent care of us. We wanted to share out two entrees so he had the kitchen prepare our plates with half of each (penne arrabiata and the gnocchi). And he also had them split our salad. It was such a nice thing to do; so much nicer than having to scrape food from one plate to another. When I said I wasn't really up for a full glass of wine (we were going to a concert afterward) Danny suggested a glass of Proseco, which is lighted. It was a perfect recommendation and I enjoyed it thoroughly as I never even thought of that.
And of course, the food is super yummy! We loved all of our selections and always enjoy coming to Flavio.
Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening. Heidi & David
An enjoyable evening with wonderful appetizers and cocktails. Jorge, our waiter was terrific.
My husband and I have previously had good experiences dining at Flavio, so I suggested it as a dinner business venue for a couple of work colleagues from out of town. I read the previous OpenTable reviews about the variable and sometimes problematic service and mediocre food, but ignored it because of my own previous positive experience. Unfortunately, the reviews proved me wrong. The service was atrocious (I had to call the waiter 5 times as he would simply not return to our table) and the food was of worse quality than a meal at Olive Garden. I was hoping not to write this review: what a disappointment.
I booked a reservation here since it was close to where we were meeting friends later. I'd never heard of it but I figured it was affordable Italian so you couldn't go wrong. We were pleasantly surprised with great service and delicious food. The portions were generous and I had just enough room for the chocolate mousse cake dessert which really hit the spot. We'll definitely be heading back here!
It was all okay until I receive an email from open table reprimanding me for not showing up. But I DID show up and spent over 200 bucks for 3 people (1 being only 15 and couldn’t even drink). Not exactly the best customer service from the restaurant when I was there for 2 hours and they couldn’t check me in the entire time???? Hmmmmm. I’m not going to use this service if I’m going to get reprimanded for stuff I didn’t do.
Good Italian food in a nice environment. It can tend to be chilly inside on a cold night, but they are more than willing to move you to the back. Service varies, and I rarely see the same servers for too long a period. Although parking is a bit of a chore, the area is well worth it, as there is much to do before and after dinner.
Our food was very good and very fast! They brought pizzas and bruschetta out almost instantly when we said we needed to eat quickly. Very good pasta, nicely sized dishes to share. Helpful and attentive waiters.
Thank you! We will likely be back.
Amazing night, great food, great service. Highly recommend.
The lasagne was decent. That was the high point. Several of us ordered cocktails that were made incorrectly and were not good. The entire experience was a race to get what we needed. Appetizers came, yet I had no plate. Dinner came and I had no silverware. There is nothing I really liked about this place. I won’t come back.
Though the food was amazing, the portion size for how much they charge meant going someplace else for something more filling. The staff were also incredibly pushy and slightly judgemental. I think the food is great. But the serving staff need to be less pushy and need to stop looking over my shoulder the whole time.
They were very finicky that we asked to split the check, even though we were almost the only ones in the restaurant. Also did not do anything for my birthday even though we specifically told them about jt
Amazing food and really nice ambiance! Highly recommended.
Juiciest meatballs! Get the appetizer meatball and share with a friend.
Also their pizza is nice and doughy :)
We had reservations and still had to wait outside about 10 mins, with a large group of other parties with reservations. They worked with urgency and accuracy to get us to our tables. Close quartered seating. Very noisy, fast-paced atmosphere. The waiter, an older gentleman, was fantastic- friendly, fast, respectful, and constantly moving around doing his job. My husband really enjoyed his food. My Chicken Parmesan was basic but cooked well. Our drinks were great, however slightly on the weaker side. We ordered obscure drinks and had no issues.
When we showed up the host questioned whether we had a reservation assuming we didn’t when we hadn’t said either way. We had a reservation through open table. So he seated us. It was early and already busy. Our server took our order, dropped of some bread and then disappeared for an hour. We asked two other servers to find him. He never showed up. We finally asked the hostess about our dinner. She apologized and went to the kitchen and came back with two plates she plopped down. The food looked like it was they slapped it on. The server showed up 15 minutes later when we were halfway through to offer some grated Parmesan. The hostess said she would comp the two dishes. They only comped one. It was a sad experience.
We had to be moved from our first table because the table was wobbling all over the place, the staff acted like it was a huge inconvenience even though it was their fault for having a wobbly table. Then at our new table we were placed by the window which provided a serious draft. The waiter was busy talking up the table next to us and barely paid attention to the basics of our table. The ricotta gnocchi was a solid C- (huge and glue textured). The overall restaurant vibe seemed confused with half of the restaurant seeming romantic and the other half trying to be a neighborhood sports bar and then a random corner with an vibe between the two. Our overall experience was not a positive one and I would NOT recommend friends to eat there.
Ambiance was okay. It was not too price compared to other nice Italian restaurants nearby, but definitely not worth the money. Wine was okay, but all the food - Alfredo, Caesar salad, Veal Limone was all mediocre. And I put birthday as an occasion when I made a reservation, but nothing was prepared or asked for any arrangement when other tables were getting cakes and candles. It was a very disappointing experience.
Have been here on multiple occasions and was dissatisfied this evening. Horrible service. A table for two was not ready at the time of our reservation and we were forced to wait. Once we were seated, it took fifteen minutes to be approached by a waiter and another twenty minutes waiting for bread. We had to request bread three times despite all the time we had spent waiting.
The ambiance was amazing as well as the food thanks to Flavio‘s delicious Valentine’s Day 3 course menu.
I came to Flavio for my birthday dinner and the service was slow in the beginning, we had to ask two people where our waiter was. After they were outstanding, and even gave a complimentary bottle of champagne to my table. My pasta was great although the lobster was a little tough, for 37 dollars it should be perfect. Will come again!
Server never acknowledged it was a birthday and we specifically put it on the reservation. Server seemed like they had too many tables and never really spent much time with us.
great food at a fair cost; it was packed but we were seated right away! will do it again next time we are in dc!
Cold inside. Took a while to be seated.
We chose Flavio because it was within walking distance of the Watergate hotel. We met friends who were staying there. We had not eaten at Flavio before. We were very pleased with our choice. The atmosphere was casual but stylish. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. We all ate pasta dishes and everyone was very satisfied. Portions were generous, presentation was nice and quality was excellent. The four of us shared two deserts ...chocolate cake and a cannoli ...very tasty and quite adequate. There are lots of restaurants to choose from in the same area, but you won't go wrong picking Flavio.
Food was better than I expected. With so many good restaurants in Georgetown you are very disappointed when one does not measure up; Flavio measures up. Attentive waitstaff and open and outdoor seating if desired.
The reason I had to rate Flavio so low is because of some confusion between OpenTable and Flavio, I was denied my reservation.
OpenTable did not inform me that Flavio was closed for a private event and Flavio did not inform me the same until I got to the venue. It was my birthday dinner, and on the last minute, I had to search for a place nearby to take all my guests. I also had reservations at another place for after dinner, so we had to settle for an informal dinner elsewhere rather than the formal one we'd planned at Flavio.
I don't know which of the parties is at fault, but this was absolutely terrible service to receive on a special day.
The service was slow. The waiter forgot our drinks and appetizers. He brought out our main dishes first! Won’t be coming back to Flavio.
It was freezing, no heat whatsoever, everyone had to leave their coats on.
very average italian food for higher than average Price, we propably won't go there again and look for another Italian Restaurant in the Georgetown area
The food was awesome and we will return. Had dinner here before walking to Blues Alley for a show. Very convenient. Fresh. Fast service. Waiter was very pleasant. We had calamari and pizza and salad. All were excellent!
The tables were dirty, so were the napkins. We left shortly after our food arrived because the cutlery did not appear to be clean either
Pizza is always good, the service is very good. The wine prices have risen substantially. 10-12$ per glass of wine is too much.
We love Flavio! The food is great, especially the pizza and the small plates (charcuterie, eggplant, and meatballs). It can be a little loud if it's busy, but I think that adds to the fun energy in the space. It's a great option for casual Italian in DC!
Food is decent but the service felt very rushed. Feels more like a commercial cheese cake factory than a Italian Restaurant.
Took a long time to get service and one of my kids had hair in his pasta
I have eaten at Flavio before and it was a great experience. Tonight I brought my family and things could not have gone worse. We had a waiter who was unbelievably rude. He spilled wine all over our table, took forever to take our order, didn’t bring us bread or water (after asking throughout our meal), and got several orders wrong in our 3 person party. Every other waiter seemed great, and the meals we eventually received (after an hour wait) were good, however this waiter really ruined the evening.
