Our first trip to Flamant. Place was lovely, tables far apart so that you can truly relax. Friendly greeting, though servers changed at times so we weren't quite sure who was in charge of our table. Chef is Belgian, and the food we tried was particularly rich (and just a bit on the salty side). That said, we found the food inventive and delicious. This is in our neighborhood but is not a drop in neighborhood joint (for us, anyway) - hard to have a full dinner for less than $60-70 pp. But for the right occasion, definitely worth a try.
We enjoyed the restaurant and the food on our first time there. Thanks!
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. A unique and welcome addition to the Annapolis dining scene. Highly recommend.
Best kitchen in the county.
Loved the evening thank you for making dinner extremely pleasurable.
Favorite restaurant! Oh-so creative menu and divine wines.
Absolutely wonderful - again!! My fourth visit. Will be back for a fifth very soon!
About a year ago, we discovered this charming little place in West Annapolus and we’ve been coming back almost every Wednesday since. Why? Because every visit gives us a reason to keep coming back and tonight was no exception. We were greeted warmly, as always, by Dianna and all the great people she manages, and helped to select another new red, a delicious Sangiovese. Then we were treated to our own special glimpse of a dish in creation for the Fall menu. “Chicken Pot Pie” ala Chef Frederick! A true work of art, painstakingly prepared before our eyes, and incredibly delicious! Tender and moist, crusted and set among in three different sauces that were surrounded by fresh roasted veggies, all on top of a pastry medallion. Delicious!
The four of us had an excellent dinner on a Tues evening. We celebrated a birthday, relaxed in the beautiful back room, sampled duck burgers, cod and sea bass....oh so yummy!
Great place for a leisurely dinner.
Love the way the menu changes with the seasons.
Also appreciate that the tables are not crowded together.
We will go back again. Food was innovative. Apricot donuts where wonderful!
Everything was just perfect!!
Very good service. The Quail special was a little heavy for my wife"s liking but very tasty. My fish and muscle dish was excellent.
Loved the appetizers! Would order
More and pass them around
The food is outstanding and the waitstaff is outstanding!
Dined here on a Saturday evening and sat outside. The server was very knowledgeable and recommended dishes & drinks. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the Duck burger. We were not disappointed in anything we tried. The only flaw was it took quite a long time between the appetizer and dinner, probably 1/2 hour but we sat by the fire pit and enjoyed a glass of wine.
Food was wonderful. Ingredients fresh. Some interesting / unique combinations. The two tables on either side of the front door -- try to avoid. We were celebrating our 25 yr wedding anniversary and we had one of those tables. It was non-stop traffic with waitstaff entering / leaving; guests entering / leaving. Some of the waitstaff and guests were very enthusiastic w/ the door and it often slammed into the other guests who were sitting at the table on the other side.
We loved the appetizers and small plates. Our fish for two (whole fried Dorade) seemed a bit overcooked. The vegetables were quite good and we loved the variety and amount of them.
Our best meal yet at Flamant.
We loved the quaint atmosphere the smaller rooms (although we wished we got to be seated in the room with the fireplace) everything was nice except for the hostess. When we arrived I forgot to change our reservation from 4 to 2 people as they canceled last minute on us. And upon arrival the hostess says 4 guests and we say no 2 we had last minute cancellation. The hostess responds "we have a problem" that really set the mood from calm to upsetting. We let her figure it out and mind you the place was empty at 5:00 PM she proceeds to tell us that at 8:00 pm that night she has a bachelorette party of 8 (we didn't care about that as it was 3 hours away) she then proceeds say "ok I can figure this out" and seats us in a small windowless room next to glass window overlooking the kitchen, at first we were perturbed by her acting as we were demoted because of not informing them before we were a party of 2 and no longer 4 (which I'm very good at modifying if it but this time forgot.) The window to the kitchen room was actually nice as it looked into the kitchen and we watched the chef do fabulous things inside a clean well functioned kitchen . The hostess set a bad tone right at the beginning. Which was completely unnecessary she should have kept her comment to herself, not knowing our circumstance for an otherwise stressful day prior to arriving. She should have kept quiet and figured it out. We were gone befor 6:15 and the place was still empty at the time of leaving there were 2 whole rooms empty including the room we were in. . It was very unprofessional ( I got the feeling she was more than the hostess at least she acted like it for this hostess to voice herself like that by saying. "We have a problem" and then proceed to Remind us ON OUR WAY TO OUR SEATING!!! how we need to change it prior to arrival because she had a lot of 2 Tops that evening. We almost left but the food and chef and our waitress made the experience worth staying.
Loved the basil martini. So clean! The service was fine a little slow but the food is hot and delicious and people are pleasant! We tried the tomato dish , beans and salmon tartare. All very good! My partners had the duck burger and said it was very good & rich! I had the fish and clams that I enjoyed. Nice place to go! The corner table for three is cold with ac blowing is my only down side.
Always superb quality and service.
It was our first time there for all 4 of us. The food was excellent but I did not expect the shrimp to come whole vs "beheaded". The service was also excellent but it seemed the waiter was having to take care of too many tables.
We look forward to our next visit with more friends.
My wife and I both agree the food and service “ Wonderful “ !
This was our first visit to Flamant. Service was very attentive, the dinners we selected were delicious, the drink menu creative and reasonably priced, and the value is excellent. This small restaurant absolutely qualifies as a neighborhood gem.
This was our sixth or seventh visit for dinner. It was the best yet! The wine was delicious; we had the sea bass, duck burger (amazing and rich), ribeye and lamb. Everyone was impressed with the main course. Dessert also great. While the tab was on the high side, as in the rest of life, you get what you pay for! Frederik is a talented and passionate chef, and the whole team seems to be committed to their mission of amazing food in a casual atmosphere. We will be back soon.
Flamant has become my favorite restaurant in the Annapolis area. We've been to the restaurant about 5 or 6 times and we've never been disappointed. The menu changes frequently, so we're always pleasantly surprised by the selections. The food has always been really good! The ambiance is quaint, and the restaurant has the feel of an old house (which it probably was at one time). Wine and beer selection is also very good. The past two visits, I've had the duck burger, which was so yummy!!
Great hidden gem in Annapolis. The city could use a few more of these! If your a foodie its a must try
We went to celebrate my birthday and couldn’t have been more impressed. The food was outstanding particularly the risotto...best restaurant in Annapolis by far ..
The food and drinks were amazing. The portions were on the small side. Beautiful interior. We will eat here again.
The service was impeccable from beginning to end. We planned a work good bye party and good luck in law school. Flamant did NOT dissapoint, the food and ambience was superb. Our server was well versed in the menu and drinks. He did a fantastic job!! Even brought out a flaming dessert to celebrate! Flamant will definitely be a go to restaurant after work and for good times!
Loved it! We had read an article on Flamant in Baltimore magazine. Overnight getaway from Rockville to visit. Worth the drive! Gigante Beans app was delightful, as was the Duck Burger. My husband had the Sea Bass and loved it. Nice atmosphere, great service and delicious food!
Lovely modern tasteful decor with comfortable seating. Waiter very responsive in greeting us and helpful in making recommendations. The food was unique and delicious with creative menu offerings. Some portions were small and delicate but provided for a variety of special tastes. We had the salmon tartare, the heirloom tomatoes and the duck burger from their luncheon menu. All were delicious. Highly recommend this for a special occasion and a variety of tastes.
We had one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Flamant is our new go to restaurant for when we want a nice meal out.
Excellent as always.
Highly recommended, if you are looking for something much different from the norm. Menu selections were very creative and served quickly. Nothing worse than a main course served at tepid temperature. Very friendly and welcoming environment, not your usual restaurant atmosphere.
Never better. We brought two friends who had never been to Flamant, and they were ecstatic. As one of them said, "It's my new favorite restaurant in Annapolis!"
I really don’t like writing this review, because the people at this restaurant were so nice and so willing to please. But honestly, what can I say about tomatoes sliced so thinly, tasty though they were, but at a price of $12? And the duck burger was nothing to write home
We went to this adorable restaurant because we read an outstanding review. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the food receiving rave reviews. the crab rolls were small greasy and very spicy. The outstanding star was a marinated salmon roll. We also had the duck burger which was somewhat tough and tasteless. The space is charming but the chairs are very uncomfortable.
We were disappointed and left with a heavy feeling in our stomach.
